Individual and Team awards for the Novice events will be awarded at both of the Regional Qualifiers. There shall be no Novice awards at the National Finals.

2 Individuals who qualify for the National Finals will automatically be entered into the BUCS Championship team competitions as well, provided there are enough eligible individuals from that institution to comprise a team at the National Finals. Please note the following team compositions: Men s Team Championship The team score shall be the highest three non-compound scores from the eligible male competitors from each institution, either Experienced or Novice. Women s Team Championship The team score shall be the highest three non-compound scores from the eligible female competitors from each institution, either Experienced or Novice. Open Compound Team Championship The team score shall be the highest two compound scores from the eligible male or female competitors from each institution, either Experienced or Novice. At the Regional Qualifiers, the following will be awarded at both events: Open Novice Team Trophy The team score shall be the highest three non-compound scores from the eligible male or female competitors from each institution, Novice only. This will be awarded at both of the Regional Qualifiers. Allocation to the Regional Qualifiers Institutions have been provisionally allocated to a venue as listed below. Institutions without an allocation may request their preference of venue which will be accommodated where possible. When an institution makes their entries they may request a change to their allocation, for a whole team, or individuals, but MUST provide an explanation for this request. Please note, there is no guarantee that allocations can be changed and priority for spaces will remain with those BUCS has initially allocated for that region. If a particular Regional Qualifier is oversubscribed, BUCS reserves the right to amend these allocations. In the North 1st (starting at 09:00 Saturday), 2nd (12:00 Saturday) 3rd (15:00 Saturday) 4th (starting at 09:00 Sunday), 5th (12:00 Sunday) or 6th (15:00 Sunday) [times for all sessions are subject to change depending on entries]. Competitors must register at least 30 minutes before the start of the session, registration will not open more than an hour before the session start time. Please note, the preference selected is not guaranteed confirmed competitor shooting times will be published on 31 st January Regional Qualifier round Competitors will shoot a Portsmouth Round. Non Compound archers will shoot at a 60cm face, whilst Compound archers will shoot at a 60cm Triple Vertical Target Face. Shooting shall be in timed ends of 2 minutes. The round will be UK Record Status and competitors may only enter one bow style.

4 Qualifying scores to attend the Regional Qualifiers Archers must shoot a Portsmouth score equal to or higher than the qualifying score in order to be eligible to compete. This score must have been shot since 4 th February 2017 and under competition conditions (Competition conditions: more than one person must also score the round and it should be shot to whistles with the correct timings). Individuals will need to submit their qualifying Portsmouth score on BUCScore at the time of entry. The qualifying scores required are as follows: Experienced Qualifying Score Barebow 243 Compound 481 Longbow 219 Recurve 400 Novice Qualifying Score Barebow 150 Compound 336 Longbow 128 Recurve 277 BUCS reserves the right to request evidence of the qualifying score at any time upto 6 months after the entry deadline. Failure to provide this evidence could result in disqualification Novice entries Please note, only entrants who have not held insurance with an Archery Governing Body prior to, and who have commenced shooting during, the current academic year, as specified in the Rules and Regulations, shall be eligible for entry into the Novice categories and should enter the appropriate categories on the online entry form. Queries on the status of a Novice should be directed to Alysha Martin. Disability Archery entrants Competitors in the Disability Archery Category are participants with a disability who compete as part of the overall competition in their chosen event; however, in each individual event they can also be eligible to earn a medal as part of extracted Disability Results. The number of medals awarded will be dependent on the total number of entries within each disability category for each event. However all disability scores will still be eligible to count towards the relevant overall team score, and scores will be ranked as part of the overall event for the awarding of BUCS points; no individual disability BUCS points will be awarded. If an assistive device is required please specify what this is, any requirements you have to use this (e.g. remaining on the line) and be prepared to show suitable documentation authorising its use, if no assistive device is required please enter the open category. If you are wishing to use an assistive device at Indoor Finals you will need to hold an appropriate World Archery Classification. If you require more information on how to gain one of these please contact Alysha Martin. For the regional events evidence stated within the Rules of Shooting will be accepted. No evidence will be requested from Competitors unless an assistive device is required. Competitors will be required to identify which disability category they are wishing to be entered into on the entry information they provide. The available categories are: OPEN Athletes may have impairment in the legs and use a wheelchair or have a balance impairment and shoot standing or resting on a stool. Open category athletes shoot under standard rules.

5 W1 Athletes may have impairment in the legs and make use of a wheelchair. VISUALLY IMPAIRED V1, V2/3 Athletes may have impairment in their vision. V1 athletes must wear blindfolds or black-out glasses while competing. All VI athletes use tactile sights and are permitted an assistant sitting or standing one metre behind the shooting line to relay information about the position of the arrows in the target, safety and help with scoring. Qualification to the National Finals The highest individual scorers from each category over both Regional Qualifiers will progress to the National Finals (all scores in a combined seeding). There will be no Novice events at the National Finals therefore the Novices will be included in an overall seeding and will be able to qualify for the event. There is no limit on the number of individuals from an institution who can qualify through to the National Finals. A list of qualifiers to the National Finals will be published after the Regional Qualifiers. If an individual who has qualified for the National Finals withdraws before Friday 10 th March 2017, the next best scorer from the Regional Qualifiers for their particular event will be allocated their space and the individual who withdrew will be fined 10. If an individual who has qualified for the National Finals withdraws after Friday 10 th March 2017, their place will not be re-allocated and the individual who withdrew will be fined 15. If an individual who has qualified for the National Finals fails to show at the event, having not withdrawn, their place will not be re-allocated and the individual will be fined 20. Notification of a withdrawal should be sent via by an Athletic Union to Alysha Martin. National Finals round Competitors will shoot a WA18m round for seeding and the team competition scores, followed by headto-head rounds. Recurve and Compound will shoot a 40cm triple vertical face, Longbow and Barebow archers will shoot at a full 40cm face. The event will be world record status. Individual medals will be awarded for the head-to-head results for each category. Archery GB membership All competitors must be members of Archery GB and membership cards or an official Archery GB Subscription Fee Receipt as proof of membership MUST be presented at registration on the day at each event. Entry allowance Please note that each competitor may only be entered into one bow style. Each institution may make an unlimited number of entries. In the event of the number of entries exceeding the places available an equal maximum number of places shall be given to all institutions. Please enter all competitors into the competitor seeding category and sort them in order of preference for entry. If the event is oversubscribed we will use this information to allocate spaces. Any competitors not initially allocated a space will be added to a reserve list. Reserve list/substitutions Any institution wishing to make a substitution of a student listed on the reserve list for one of their allocation must request this via their Athletic Union by 5pm on Friday 9 th February If an institution withdraws an entry but does not have anyone on the reserve list, the space will not be reallocated.

6 Substitutions cannot be made after 5pm Friday 9th February 2018 under any circumstances and can only be made from those on the reserve list. If you wish to make a substitution a compound can only be swapped for a compound, and a recurve / barebow / longbow can only be swapped for a recurve / barebow / longbow. Entry lists The accepted entries and reserve lists will be published on the BUCS website Indoor Archery event page on Wednesday 31 st Janaury 2018 for checking. All entries MUST be checked, with errors you wish to be corrected being reported ASAP by your Athletic Union ONLY by Friday 9 th February to Alysha Martin Please note: Any requests for changes to the data submitted on BUCScore may be possible but will be subject to an admin charge of 10 per change. These requests are not guaranteed and any requests for new entrants will not be accepted. Entry process Entries can only be submitted on BUCScore, our online entry system. Please speak to your Athletic Union as they will need to submit your entry on this system and it is their responsibility to manage the whole entry process. Please note: An address is required to enable an individual to be entered effectively within BUCScore as the system uses addresses as unique identifiers. The used for each entrant must be unique to maintain validity of their entry. Changing or duplicating an address for an entrant may result in the entry being overwritten and therefore withdrawn. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. ATHLETIC UNIONS: ONCE ENTERED ON BUCSCORE MAKE SURE YOU SUBMIT YOUR ENTRIES AND RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION WHICH SHOULD BE CHECKED IMMEDIATELY. UNSUBMITTED ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Furthermore, after entries have closed no refunds will be given for withdrawals. This applies regardless of the reason for a withdrawal. Entry disclaimer BUCS will make every reasonable effort to ensure that its events are run in safe environments. Additional information required for the BUCScore entry form [1] Please give the competitor s Archery GB membership number. (All competitors must be members of Archery GB and membership cards or an official Archery GB Subscription Fee Receipt as proof of membership MUST be presented at registration on the day of the Championships If the individual is still awaiting a membership number or will be using a Subscription Fee Receipt, please put TBC) [2] Please give the competitor s qualifying Portsmouth score. [3] Is the competitor a disabled athlete? [4] If you have selected yes to the previous question please indicate the appropriate disability category for the individual [Open, W1 or VI] [5] Please state any assistive devices the competitor needs. (E.g. Wheelchair, shooting stool, tactile sight). [6] Due to medical reasons would it assist the competitor to stay on the shooting line? [7] Please provide any additional Information you think may be useful.

Provisional pre-event information including the accepted entries and reserves lists will be published on Wednesday 31 st Januaryex.
