Kolkata: Fax No Memo No HFW/23099/4/2018/DIR-MES SEC-Dept of H & FW/M/1771 Dated Notification Likewise previous year, this year also it has been decided by this Department that MCI recognized Private Medical Colleges in the State of West Bengal may advertise for the NRI Quota UG Medical Seats in their college and to subsequently do the counseling and admission of the NEET UG 2018 qualified candidates applying for the same who are otherwise eligible for such seats strictly based on merit for the academic year Qualified candidates through NEET UG 2018 and are claiming to be NRI as per the Direction s of the Hon ble Supreme Court of India in the case WP Civil 689 of 2017 [ Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) and Anr. Vs the Union of India and Ors. Dated and principles set in Anshul Tomar (supra) case; can send their scanned relevant documents and application (filled up proforma) in support of their claim to the respective college/s by the scheduled date. The college/s must ensure transparency and clarity in advertisement, counseling and admission of such quota. The last cut off dates for the various steps is as follows:- Sl. No of The step of NRI Quota UG Medical seat counseling Last cut off date steps and admission Advertisement by the respective college in leading dailies and college website 2 Eligible and qualified candidates through NEET UG by 6 pm 2018 can apply with scanned copy of relevant documents to college authority 3 List of the NEET UG 2018 qualified candidates applied by 2 pm along with copy of their scanned particulars deposited with the college ( who are otherwise eligible for such quota) to be handed over to the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of WB for verification 4 The particulars of applied candidates to be verified by 6 pm by the Department of Health and Family Welfare Govt of WB and intimation of such to the concerned college 5 The publication of the final list of the candidates for admission to the NRI Quota seats for sessions by the concerned college after receipt of concurrence of this Department as stated above strictly on merit basis by 4 pm 6 Selected candidates to appear for admission in the Process of reporting for

2 allotted college along with the original documents (detailed below) and required admission fees. The officers from Dept of Health and Family Welfare will overview the admission process at the college venue. In case of any candidate found to be submitted false or incomplete document or cannot produce requisite fees the candidature will be cancelled and the next eligible candidate on merit will be called for admission. The decision of the Govt representative is final in this regard and binding on candidates and college authorities. candidates starts at 10 am and ends at 12 noon of Counseling and admission starts at 12 noon of and to complete by 4 pm on No listed candidate will be allowed to report after 12 noon. The documents needed to be sent by scanning and to be reproduced in original during counseling and admission is detailed below:- 1. Affidavit (notarized/legalized) of the candidate or the sponsorer who is NRI along with statement that the sponsorer will sponsor the candidate the entire course fee and statement of relationship of NRI sponsorer with the candidate as per the orders of the Hon ble Supreme Court of India in the case WP Civil 689 of 2017 [Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) and Anr. Vs the Union of India and Ors. Dated and principles set in Anshul Tomar (supra) case. 2. Documents claiming that the sponsorer or candidate is NRI (passport, visa of the sponsorer or the candidate as the case may be). 3. Embassy certificate of the sponsorer/candidate (claiming to be NRI) and if applied for the same but yet to receive it, then produce the recent utility bill of the sponsorer candidate (claiming to be NRI) in support of the claim of NRI. 4. NEET UG 2018 admit card and rank card ( only NEET UG 2018 qualified candidates can apply) 5. Class 10+2 mark-sheet and certificate 6. Age proof certificate (Birth certificate/class 10 admit card or certificate)[must be 17 years or more by ] 7. Caste certificate or PH certificate [as applicable] 8. Undertaking that the candidate is not admitted presently anywhere through AIQ/SQ/Deemed quota/management Quota counseling held in Filled up and signed proforma provided as annexure of this notification. The counseling cum on spot admission will be on combined/overall merit rank in NEET UG 2018 basis among the applicants who are screened and shortlisted on the basis of the documents submitted by the candidates after scanning via ID provided by the concerned college authorities within stipulated time; but failure to provide original documents at the time of counseling and admission or

3 failure to pay fees during counseling cum on spot admission may lead to cancellation of the candidature and the candidate next in the combined list will be offered the seat. The decision of candidature and admission by the Counseling Committee is final and binding. If in any stage it is discovered that fake documents were produced or any unscrupulous act was done by the candidate or sponsorer, the candidature will be cancelled outright. The documents will be released by the concerned college only after completion of the course and or payment of full course fee as stated earlier in this notification. The fee structure and manner of fee deposition is posted in the news section of the website in the interest of public service along with contact details of the concerned colleges.
