SPECIAL EDUCATION (MENTAL RETARDATION) (SESSION ) Govt. Rehabilitation Institute for Intellectual Disabilities (GRIID), Sector -31, Chandigarh invites applications from eligible candidates for admission to M.Ed. Special Education (Mental Retardation) (2 years Course) for the session who have successfully completed B.Ed. Spl. Edu. (Mental Retardation) or its equivalent recognized by RCI, New Delhi. The application proforma alongwith other information can be downloaded from our website i.e. from 19 th August, The candidate submit or on their application form completed in all respect alongwith testimonials upto 2:00pm on or before 26 th August, 2016 (Friday). 1 st Counselling for admission will be held in the Conference Hall at GRIID -31, Chandigarh on 29 th August, 2016 (Monday) from 9:00am onwards for General Pool and 2:00 pm onwards for UT Pool and 2 nd counselling will be held on 8 th September, 2016 and admission will be allowed with the permission of Chairperson/Principal of the Department/College with late fee of Rs. 560/- per student till September, Sd/- Director, GRIID Sector 31, Chandigarh

SE-MR Course for the session is as under: - a) A candidate who has successfully passed B.Ed. Spl.Edu. (Mental Retardation) with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university or any other degree considered equivalent to B.Ed. Spl.Edu. from an affiliating university and/ or teaching department under any University recognized by U.G.C. with RCI registration. b) A candidate who has successfully passed the B.Ed. General course and has successfully completed Diploma in Education Special Education (Mental Retardation) recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India with minimum 50 percent marks in each course. c) A candidate having passed Post Graduate Professional Diploma in Spl. Edu. (Mental Retardation) (Till Academic session ) d) A candidate with B.Ed. in particular specialization may be allowed for M.Ed. cross disability/ multi category (as and when offered) but the reverse is not allowed. B.Ed. with multi-category should not be admitted for specialization in a single disability at the M.Ed. level, however; as part of CBCS, these can be admitted to B.Ed. Spl.Edu. Area C Courses and complete the Specialization Courses to qualify for a particular disability. On completion of Area C, these can be admitted to the M.Ed. Spl.Edu. in a specific disability. e) A student with B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. B.Ed. Spl.Edu. (Mental Retardation) (4 years Integrated). f) Candidate should have valid RCI registration. ii) As per reservation policy, the distribution of seats for admission to M.Ed. Admission (Semester System) for the session , the admission will be allowed without late fee upto 31 st August, 2016 and thereafter, the admission will be allowed with the permission of Chairperson/Principal of the Department/College with late fee of Rs. 560/- per student till September, ii) The counselling to admission in M.Ed. Special Education (Mental Retardation) Course for the session will be held in the Conference Hall at Govt. Rehabilitation Institute for Intellectual Disabilities, Ashadeep Building, Sector 31-C, Chandigarh. iii) The candidates must bring the original documents from Class 10 th onwards iv) alongwith DMC & Degree. The candidates who have opted for NCC /NSS must bring their original certificate. v) The candidates must bring their Character certificate and UT Pool Certificate at the time of counselling (UT Pool 60% Out of the total sanctioned intake of the Institution 60% seats will be filled up from amongst the students who passed their qualifying examination from colleges recognized by the Chandigarh Administration and situated in the Union Territory of Chandigarh as a regular student of the said College/Institution, subject to the condition that such students must have studied for two year at Chandigarh and have passed one lower qualifying examination from the local colleges/ Institutions.
