You have been provisionally selected under SC category for admission to the Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. programme in Physics at IIT Kharagpur. You are requested to fill up the following enclosed forms: (i) Acceptance of Admission; (ii) Declaration; (iii) Undertaking; and send these along with an advance fee of Rs. 5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand Only) through a demand draft in favour of Chairman, JAM, IIT Bombay and payable at Mumbai on any Nationalized Bank, to the following address: The Organizing Chairman, JAM 2012, IIT Bombay, Powai, Mumbai so as to reach on or before June 11, In case the required forms duly filled in along with the DD, are not received by the Organizing Institute IIT Bombay by June 11, 2012, you will not be considered for admission in any of your preferences given in the Option Form. The advance fee of Rs. 5000/- paid by you will be adjusted in the total fees at the time of registration. Please note that the total amount payable is Rs. 31,250/-. 2 Please note the Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) and Eligibility Requirement (ER) to take admission in the Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. programme in Chemistry/Geology/Mathematics/Physics at IIT Kharagpur:- MEQ (Physics): Bachelor s degree with Physics as a subject for at least two years/four semesters and Mathematics for at least one year/two semesters. ER: At least 55% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for General/OBC category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for SC, ST and PD category candidates in the qualifying degree. For candidates with letter grades/cgpa (instead of percentage of marks), the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the norms of IIT Kharagpur. Failing to comply with any of the above requirements will automatically lead to the cancellation of admission to the Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. programmes at IIT Kharagpur and the student will have to leave the programme. Candidates whose final results for the qualifying degree are awaited will be required to submit the results by Candidates who accept the admission offer are required to be present on July 23, 2012 at the Academic Section, IIT Kharagpur for registration along with attested copies of academic records and originals, such as this offer letter, JAM 2012 Scorecard, all the original certificates, mark sheets for verification and Physical Fitness Certificate.
