5 ADMISSION BULLETIN UG PROGRAMMES FOR INSTITUTES OF SIU Candidates aspiring to join B.A LL.B./B.B.A LL.B/B.Des./BCA/BBA (IT)/B.A.(M.C)/B.Sc (Economics) Hons./ B.A. (Liberal Arts)/B.Sc (Libral Arts)/B.Sc (Culinary Arts)/B.Tech programmes offered by institutes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) have to take the common, mandatory online Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) From this year onwards, SET - Law test will be known as Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT), SET - Design test as Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), SET - Engineering as SIT Engineering Entrance Exam (SITEEE). SET - General will continue as SET. These will be conducted in an online mode across various cities of India. A candidate needs to register for Online SET/SLAT/SEED/SITEEE 2018 & also register for the institutes offering his/ her choice of programmes by paying separate programmes registration fees. 6 SECTION 1 SET/SLAT/SEED/SITEEE Online Registration A. Registration process The Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is a common online test for the admission processes at the undergraduate institutes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) established as under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 vide notification No.F.9.12/2001 U.3 of the Govt. of India. In the year 2002 there were 3 constituent institutes of SIU. Subsequently ten more iinstitutes of Symbiosis have been brought under the ambit of the Symbiosis International Deemed University vide notification No.F.9.12/2006-U.3 (A). IMPORTANT: Till last year, the SET umbrella comprised of different papers, SET Law, SET Design, SET General and SET Engineering. From this year onwards, SET - Law test will be known as Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT), SET - Design test as Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), SET - Engineering as SIT Engineering Entrance Exam (SITEEE). SET - General will continue as SET. 1. Register online on the website set-test.org (from January 29, 2018 to April 14, 2018) Note: Any Changes in the online application form (except test city preferences and admission category) will be entertained only up to the closing date of Registration i.e. April 14, No changes shall be permitted after closing date under any circumstances. No change of test city requests will be entertained once candidates have completed their Online SET/SLAT/SEED/SITEEE 2018 registration. 2. You may register for one paper in the morning (for example, SET-Law (SLAT) or SET- Design (SEED)), and/or one paper in the afternoon session (for example, SET-General (SET) or SET-Engineering (SITEEE)). Note: For Engineering, if a candidate applies to seek admission on the basis of test other than SITEEE, he/she need not register for the same; rather he/she may apply directly to the concerned institute. 3. Upload your latest scanned colour passport size photo at the time of Online Registration. (Your photograph should not be more than 3 months old). 4. Ensure that the information you have filled is accurate. Candidate should note that SET/SLAT/SEED/SITEEE 2018 is only the first step. Each Symbiosis institute has its independent selection process. The SET-2018 has 4 different papers:- (SET) SET-General, SEED (SET-Design), SLAT (SET-Law) and SITEEE (SET-Engineering). The test will be conducted in two sessions, morning and afternoon. A candidate may take more than one paper. However, he/she will have to choose and register for one paper from the morning session (SLAT/SEED) and/or one paper from the afternoon session (SET/SITEEE). Candidates are advised to make this decision at

7 the time of their online registration. Adding a new session (entrance test) after the application is saved will not be possible and a fresh registration will have to be made. Pay the Entrance Test fee of Rs.1750/- for each test.if you are registering for one test in the morning (SLAT/SEED) and one test in the afternoon (SET/SITEEE), the fees are Rs (From January 29, 2018 to April 14, 2018). Note: iii) PAYMENT THROUGH DEMAND DRAFT: Submit a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs. 1750/- for ONE Test (morning OR afternoon) OR Rs. 3500/- for TWO Tests (one from morning session and one for afternoon session) from any Nationalized Bank in favour of Symbiosis Test Secretariat payable at Pune. Choose the mode of Payment as 'DD Payment' in "Make Payment" Tab. The Symbiosis Test Secretariat will authenticate the details of Demand Draft and will send you an confirming the payment. Only after the realisation of payment, would you be able to view your Admit Card. IMPORTANT: SET/SLAT/SEED/SITEEE 2018 fee is non-refundable. 1. Please note that Symbiosis Test Secretariat will not be responsible for non-delivery or any delay on the part of courier / postal services. 2. It is also mandatory to complete the payment process of desired institute for desired programme(s) before the closing date of payment of the respective programme. Payment towards the programme(s) also needs to be done through the website only (set-test.org). 3. For disputes between the candidate and the Symbiosis Test Secretariat, the candidate should first send an to registrar@siu.edu.in with details about his/her grievance. If the candidate is not satisfied with the decision of the Registrar, he/she can appeal to the Ombudsman of the University. Information regarding the same is available in All dispute between the candidate and STS in this regard are subject to the legal jurisdiction of Pune.

SET/SLAT/SEED/SITEEE 2018 Score will be valid only for admission to select programmes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for the academic year of Admission to the select programmes at SIU are strictly based on merit, assessment of individual performance in the respective Entrance Test for Undergraduate Studies and other processes prescribed by the University. (Note: - SET/SLAT/SEED/SITEEE Result will be declared on May 14, 2018 on settest.org and will be available up to June 15, 2018). C. 10 Note: - No change of test city requests will be entertained once candidate has completed registration for SET/SLAT/SEED/SITEEE The Test Centre and its address will be printed on the Admit Card. (Admit card will be live on website from April 21, 2018 to May 05, 2018) While all efforts will be made to ensure that the candidate gets a test city as per his/her preferences, however, in some exceptional circumstances, a different test city in nearby area may be allotted. Symbiosis Test Secretariat reserves the right to change or allot a city other than the one requested by the candidate in the event of the requested city not being available for any reason. F. Procedure of Programme payment A candidate desirous to submit his candidature to select UG programmes, is also required to complete the payment process of desired programme before the closing date of payment of the same. Payment towards the programmes must be made through the website only (set-test.org). After making the payment for SET/SLAT/SEED/SITEEE, proceed to complete the online registration form (Part II) for Programme (s) registration and the respective institute(s). A candidate is required to make separate non-refundable payment of Rs.1000/- per programme per institute at this stage. If candidates want to pay programme payment through Demand Draft, make Demand Draft of Rs.1000/- for each programme. An institute may offer more than one programme. A candidate should ensure that the preferred programme(s) is / are selected and paid before the last date. Indian nationals and NRI candidates shall have to apply under SET 2018 to seek admission to the select Undergraduate programmes of Symbiosis International Deemed University. A student is eligible to apply as a Non Resident Indian (NRI) if he/she has appeared for either 10 th or 10+2 (equivalent to the Indian 10th or 12th) examination outside India. It is mandatory for NRI students who have appeared for their 10th standard exam outside India and 12 th in India to appear for SET/SLAT/SEED/SITEEE as applicable However, OCI/ PIO/ Foreign Nationals are exempted from appearing for SET/SLAT/SEED/SITEEE 2018 and have to apply through Symbiosis Center for International Education ( For details regarding OCI/PIO/NRI/FN admission process, please refer to Sub Section I: Process for International Candidates. After declaration of the SET/SLAT/SEED/SITEEE 2018 result, the institute (offering the programme(s) for which you have paid) will conduct further selection processes for short-listed candidates. The schedule for the same will be published on the website of the respective institute(s). Any attempt to impersonate or indulge in any malpractice, identified at any stage of the admission process would disqualify the candidate from the admission processes to all UG programmes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) and may also lead to appropriate legal action as deemed fit.

12 G. Reservation Policy of SIU Reservation Policy As per the UGC guideline 2006, the reservation policy for all the institutes under the University is as follows: a. Within Sanctioned Intake Scheduled Caste (SC) : 15% Scheduled Tribes (ST) : 7.5% Differently Abled # : 3% b. Over &Above Intake Kashmiri Migrants : 2 seats per programme International Candidates : 15% Defence Quota : 5 % for SLS-PUNE, SICSR and SCMS- Pune. Note: Candidate applying for the above mentioned categories will be required to submit the supporting documents at the time of PI-WAT/ST-PI. Candidates applying for Defence Quota other than above maintioned three institutes (SLS- Pune, SICSR and SCMS-Pune) will be considered as candidates in OPEN Category. # Differently Abled (DA) candidate means a candidate having any of the disabilities in accordance with the Persons with Disabilities Act 1995 and as per revised Gazette of India Registered no: DL (N)04/0007/ dated December 28, 2016.The candidate will have to get the disability authenticated from Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC). The admission may be considered as regularized only after due authentication by SCHC. A candidate applying under any of the reserved category (Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes/ Differently Abled/ Kashmiri Migrants) are mandatorily required to submit relevant document issued by competent authority. Any participation at any stage of admission process by such candidate is purely provisional and always subject verification and authentication of such relevant document. In case a candidate falls under more than one of the above categories (eg. Scheduled Caste as well as Differently Abled or any other combination), he would need to select any one Category (i.e. Either Scheduled Caste OR Differently Abled in the case of example mentioned above) at the time of filling up the registration form. The category selected by the candidate at the time of filling the registration form will be considered to be his category for the entire admission process and his benefits and entitlements shall be according to such selected category. He will not be able to claim benefit under the other category/s at any stage of admission on any account whatsoever. Any candidate who has incorrectly mentioned his category may apply for correction through E- mail from his registered id along with supporting documents (for change to Reserved Category). Please also note that if any information provided by the candidate in respect of his category is found to be incorrect, the University shall have right to cancel the candidature of such candidate.

Process for International Candidates Admissions of international students are centralized for all the constituent institutes of Symbiosis International University and are routed through the Symbiosis Center for International Education (SCIE). SCIE earmarks 15% of the total intake of the respective program for international students which include, Foreign Nationals (FN), Person of Indian Origin (PIO) Card Holders, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) Card Holders, and Non-Resident Indians (NRI). Foreign National (FN): A student is eligible to apply as a Foreign National (FN) if he/she is a citizen of any country other than India and holds a foreign passport. Person of Indian Origin (PIO): As per the Government of India notification dated 9 th January 2015, all the existing Persons of Indian Origin cardholders registered as such shall be deemed to be Overseas Citizens of India cardholders. Overseas Citizen of India (OCI): A student is eligible to apply as OCI if he/she is granted with Overseas Citizenship of India and has an OCI card. Non Resident Indian (NRI): A student is eligible to apply as a Non Resident Indian (NRI) if he/she has appeared for either 10 th or 10+2 (equivalent to the Indian 10th or 12th) examination outside India. It is mandatory for NRI students who have appeared for their 10th standard exam outside India and 12 th in India to appear for the following exams as applicable. Please refer for more details. Note that no extra time will be given for candidates who report late at the test centre. Please ensure that your latest passport size, colour photograph is pasted on the Admit Card at the place provided for before appearing for the test (Your photograph should not be more than 3 months old) 6. Admit Card along with Photo Identity proof should be carried to the Test Centre at the time of the test. An acceptable photo identity is any one of the following, Passport. Driving license. Voter ID Card. Pan Card AADHAR Card (UID) 7. An authorized person will verify and authenticate your Admit Card against the photoid on the day of the test. Please preserve this authenticated Admit Card for further PI- WAT or ST-PI processes. 8. Candidates should note that an authenticated Admit Card is an important document without which the candidate will not be permitted to appear for further selection processes of SIU. If the Authenticated Admit card is lost, a duplicate Authenticated Admit Card will not be issued. It should be retained till the admission process is over. 9. Candidates who complete their SET/SLAT/SEED/SITEEE 2018 registration and payment process by March 18, 2018 will be intimated their allotted test city via on or before March 26, 2018.This will enable candidates to plan their travel schedules

Paid candidates admit card will be available from Saturday, April 21, 2018, till Saturday, May 05, Those candidates who complete their SET/SLAT/SEED/SITEEE 2018 registration and payment process from March 19,2018 onwards (till last date of Registration) will get to know their allotted test city on the date of Admit Card generation (i.e April 21,2018). This may result in last minute changes to their travel plan. 11. Cell phones, calculators, watch calculators, alarm clocks, digital watches with built in calculators/ memory or any electronic or smart devices are not be allowed in the examination hall. 12. Candidates will not be allowed to leave the hall till a.m. (for the morning session exam) and 03:15 p.m. (for the afternoon session exam). After submission of the test, candidate will not be allowed to re-enter the test hall. 13. Candidates are advised to locate allocated test center at least a day in advance to avoid any issue on the day of the test. 14. Travel and staying arrangements will need to be done by the candidates. 15. The scores published by the Symbiosis Test Secretariat shall be final and shall not be subject to any appeal or revaluation. 16. 19 SECTION 3 Shortlisting and Selection Process Shortlisting for Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test (PI-WAT) or Studio Test and Personal Interaction (ST-PI): Candidates will be shortlisted for PI-WAT/ST-PI based on their respective Entrance Test marks. Please check the respective institute website for information and dates of PI-WAT/ST-PI. **Disclaimer: It is mandatory to attend all components / tests of PI-WAT/ST-PI to be eligible for admission to any UG programmes. Only candidates who attend all components / tests of selection process (PI- WAT/ST-PI) shall be considered as eligible for generation of merit / wait / reject list. Candidates who remain absent for any one of the component / test will be considered as ineligible for selection process of UG degree programmes of SIU.
