1 Training Plicy Imprtant Guidelines Students need t fllw departmental nrms fr getting the training apprved frm the DPE cmmittee as per departmental nrms prir t leaving fr internship in case they wish t be graded fr it. In all cases, fr award f nngraded design units, after cmpletin f the internship, the wrk must be evaluated by the DPE cmmittee f the student s Department r the institute level DPE cmmittee as the case may be. (fr further details refer clause 8.6 f curse f study). The decisin f the DPE cmmittee wuld be cnsidered final and binding fr grading f internships. If selected during a T&P prcess in a firm, the student is liable t g t the firm fr internship, vilatin f which will attract strict disciplinary actin frm T&P unit, least f which being debarred frm placements. Eligibility & Registratin A student can d at mst tw internships fr design units. Internship fr Design units are permitted nly in ne f the fllwing frmats: a) Summer internship f 40 days duratin, in which student can earn 2 design credits. b) Semester-lng internship f 100 days duratin, in which a student can earn 5 design units. Summer internships are allwed in the summer after the 4 th registered semester f the student r later. Semester internships are permitted frm the seventh registered semester r later. Internships are permitted in industry, research labratries r academic institutins invlved in research, develpment and/r technlgy transfer. Any student pting fr semester lng internship may als be allwed t wrk n a start-up. All internships must be apprved by the department in advance. Master CV and Verificatin The eligible students are required t fill in the T&P Master CV and als uplad their phtgraph in the space prvided. It is expected that a student shall NOT add any ambiguus/ wrng/fraudulent/misleading infrmatin in his/her resume. Resume checks will cntinue thrughut the training prcess. If, n verificatin, any discrepancies are fund, the student wuld be de-barred frm training. This may als attract strict disciplinary actin.

2 Applicatin Rules Rules f Withdrawing an Applicatin The student may withdraw his/her applicatin frm a cmpany n campus subject t the fllwing rules and regulatins: The student can withdraw his/her applicatin t a cmpany ONLY if the last date f applicatin t that particular cmpany is NOT ver. There can be n withdrawals after this date. The student may withdraw frm any r all cmpanies withut any limits, but nly befre the last date f applicatin t cmpany/ies cncerned. The student may als reapply t a cmpany that he/she had earlier withdrawn frm, prvided applicatin deadline fr the cmpany is nt ver. After the last date f applicatin all rules and regulatins (including absenteeism penalty) mentined in the sectin 'SELECTION PROCESS' will be applicable. Selectin Prcess As mre than ne cmpany may visit the campus, there may be a pssibility that ne student secures mre than ne training n the same day. Therefre, Each eligible student will be required t fill up his/her individual preferences in advance fr sme f the training days, ranking the cmpanies he/she has applied t/ has been shrtlisted n a particular day, in the descending rder f his/her chice. The preferences are editable till a day befre by 23:59 hrs. These preferences shall be used in case: The student gets selected in mre than ne cmpany n the same day. A cmpany wants t make an n-the-spt ffer t the student befre the selectin prcedure fr the day is ver. In case a student gets selected in 2 r mre cmpanies n the same day, then the cmpany ranked higher in the preference rder f the student will be the ne where the student wuld be finally cnsidered. In case a cmpany decides t ffer the student an n-the-spt jb ffer befre the entire training prcess fr that day is ver then he/she will NOT be allwed t appear further fr the training prcess f the ther cmpanies which were ranked lwer in preference than the cmpany that made n-the-spt ffer. The student will, hwever, be allwed t appear in such cmpany/ies, which were higher in preference rder than the ne which ffered the training. In case a student des nt fill the preference rder fr a day, then the alltment will be dwn by the electrnic system and he/she will NOT be allwed t cntinue t appear fr the prcess f the ther cmpanies. It is therefre advised that ne MUST register their preference ASAP. In case a cmpany des nt give its final selectin list n the same day it visits the campus, then the students will be allwed t appear in ther cmpanies visiting n subsequent days till they finally get selected. Hwever, if a student has already

3 been selected by a cmpany that came n the subsequent day & the cmpany that deferred its decisin als makes an ffer t him/her later n, then: In case mre than ne result f selected student(s) cmes n the same day, then the student will be given an ptin t chse between cmpany f the previus day and the cmpany f the day. In case the result f the cmpany (which deferred its selectin prcess) gives its result n a day later than the day when the student was selected by anther cmpany, this late ffer will be rejected and the cmpany wuld be infrmed. Pre Placement Offers plicy: All pre placement ffers extended t any student have t be ruted thrugh the placement cell. If ne likes the ffer, ne is advised t accept the ffer. Students are advised t maintain their CGPA after getting a PPO. A cmpany may reject yu if yu fall belw a specific limit. Student Cnduct and Disciplinary Plicy Absenteeism rules and plicy: Fr absenteeism in any test, interview r any selectin prcess which an applicant has t attend as part f a cmpany s recruiting prcedure the fllwing minimum penal actin wuld apply: Absence f first time Fine f Rs Absence f secnd time - Fine f Rs 2000 Absence f third time Debarred frm n-campus training prcess Re-registratin requests will be entertained frm 10 AM 5 PM n wrking days nly. Re-registratin can take up t half a wrking day after receipt f the stamped payment vucher frm the bank. Attendance in presentatins/ tests yu register/ apply fr in cmpulsry. In case f emergency fill in the Leave Applicatin frm within wrking hurs (10 AM 5 PM) befre the activity. Yu need t submit LAF in the T&P ffice yurself r send a representative n yur behalf with undertaking. A fine f Rs. 500 wuld be impsed n students wh are absent in applied cmpanies r pre-registered training events withut LAF If fr whatever reasns the student remains absent frm any stage/rund f selectin prcess he/she wuld be immediately de-registered frm T&P and wuld nt be allwed t take part in the training till he/she gets himself/herself re-registered. Impersnatin in tests r any kind f malpractice is a serius ffence. Seating in tests will be pre-defined by T&P, any vilatin will be cnsidered as malpractice and the student is liable t be deregistered immediately and als will be referred t the cncerned authrities fr disciplinary actin. Students appearing fr any tests/gd/presentatin shuld be present at least 10 minutes prir t the start f prcess. Any entry t the gate 5 minutes pst the scheduled time wuld nt be allwed. The candidate thus wuld be cnsidered

4 invalid fr that particular prcess. Any vilatin r frced entry after that time limit wuld be entitled t the abve effects liable. N cell phnes allwed in a test. The prcess hlds the same sanctity as any f the IIT minr/majr exams and the candidate will be debarred if fund vilating it. A list f cmpanies cming n-campus fr recruitment is put up n the T&P website. Students must NOT apply t any f these cmpanies ff-campus, as under an accrd f mutual understanding between the firms and IITD, cmpanies wuld ntify T&P whenever they receive an ff-campus applicatin frm any f IITD students. In all such cases suitable actin as per the institute rules wuld be wuld be initiated apart frm the candidates being deregistered. Students are nt allwed t share their persnal cntacts via any means with the cmpanies cming n-campus. If asked t fill at any places, yu shuld fill the cntact details f T&P ffice, refer t the T&P ntificatin site fr details r cntact T&P ffice in case f discrepancy befre prceeding. Students are NOT allwed t appear in final selectin prcess (test/gd/interview etc) f cmpanies they have nt applied t thrugh the T&P system r have nt been shrtlisted in thse cmpanies. Students must refrain frm cntacting persnnel f such cmpanies when they are n-campus. Vilatin f this will attract deregistratin and suitable disciplinary actin. Only special cases allwed with prir apprval f T&P. General Advice Students must carry their I-cards at all times during interviews & screening tests. N ne wuld be allwed t enter the test/interview venue withut the I-card. The date/time/venue f the interviews will be subject t changes which, at times, may be at a shrt ntice. Students must keep themselves well infrmed by visiting the T&P internal website. Be seated 10 minutes prir t the start f any activity t avid delays. Students must carry a cmplete file with a few cpies f the resume, riginal certificates (if pssible) and cpies theref while appearing fr the interviews. At the time f appearing fr interviews, students MUST carry cpies f the T&P resume nly as was submitted t that cmpany nline & NO ther resume. Discrepancies in resumes are nt appreciated by cmpanies and may becme a cause fr rejectin. Please be aware that sme cmpanies may use the attendance f candidate fr shrtlisting purpses if they s wish. All students are infrmed that any student aiding the blacklisted cmpanies ffcampus r cntacting them fr internship r placement will be liable fr strict disciplinary actin as per institute nrms. T&P is nt liable fr any visa related issues.
