It also contains rules for admission and information about college & these rules are applicable only for the academic year ADMISSION COMMITTEE AICET MDS shall be conducted under the Association of Private Medical and Dental Colleges of Chhattisgarh. Dr. Vishal Jain 3 CONDUCT OF COMMON ENTRANCE TEST AICET MDS Candidates should go through the contents of this brochure carefully and for any clarification and genuine doubts / difficulties, approach the admission committee. Further information if any required about the entrance test, will be uploaded and published regularly on the website of college i.e. (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) & (v) If due to unforeseen circumstances during the conduct of AICET MDS at the centres and in the contingencies like incidence of mass copying, leakage of Question paper, entrance of unauthorized persons in the examination centre/hall natural calamities, riots, etc. the admission committee may cancel the examination such cancelled examination would be re-conducted on a later date at the earliest which shall further notify on the website the fresh programme for conduct of AICET MDS MARKING ON THE OMR ANSWER SHEET The AICET MDS will consist of one common question paper of 2 hours duration consisting of 100 multiple choice questions where subject wise distribution will be as below: Subject No. of Questions Total Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, 4 each 32 Microbiology, Pathology, General Medicine, General Surgery Conservative Dentistry, Dental Anatomy / Histology, Oral Pathology, Prosthodontia, Oral Medicine / Radiology, Preventive / Community Dentistry, Periodontia, Oral & Maxillo-Facial Surgery, Pedodontia, Orthodontics, Dental Materials 6 each Page 1 of 8

2 All questions are compulsory hence the candidate is expected to attempt all the questions. Out of four bubbles provided against each question on the OMR answer sheet; the candidates will have to darken only one bubble. For each correct answer one mark will be awarded. There shall be no negative marking for wrong answers, scratching, overwriting, tick marks, erases, whiteners and multiple answers. The candidate should use HB Pencil only to fill the OMR answer sheet. Duration of examination will be of 2 hours. The medium of the test shall be English. No candidates will be allowed to appear for AICET MDS unless he/she holds valid test admit card issued by the admission committee. 5 AWARD OF MARKS IN LIEU OF CANCELLED / DEFECTIVE QUESTIONS After the completion of test, the admission committee will get each question on the question paper examined by "subject-experts" along with the answers suggested by the paper-setter and moderator. If any question is found to be defective by these experts, then it will be cancelled. Question can be cancelled due to the following reasons; i) Wrong structuring of the question; ii) More than one option being correct; iii) None of the option being correct; iv) Any printing error leading to a situation where more than one answer may be correct or none of the answers may be correct. In lieu of such cancelled questions, every candidate will be awarded extra marks in proportion to the marks obtained by him, irrespective of the fact whether the candidate had attempted such cancelled questions or not. 3 7 AVAILABILITY OF APPLICATION FORM AND BROCHURE Application forms for entrance examination will be available at the College on payment of Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One Thousand only) through Cash / Demand Draft drawn in favour of Association of Private Medical and Dental Colleges of Chhattisgarh, payable at Bhilai. 8. POSTAL ADDRESS: a. Online Application form is available on website of (i) Chhattisgarh Dental College and Research Institute ( (ii) Rungta College of Dental Sciences and Research ( (iii) Maitri College of Dentistry and Research Centre ( (iv) New Horizon Dental College & Research Institute ( & (v) Triveni Institute of Dental Sciences, Hospital and Research Centre ( and can be filled online from this site. In case the application form has been filled online on the website, then a hard copy of application form shall be submitted along with Demand Draft of Rs. 1500/- drawn in favour of Association of Private Medical and Dental Colleges of Chhattisgarh, payable at Bhilai. b. For Any Clarification Please Contact the Admission Committee : Before filling the application form the candidate must familiarize himself/herself with the information given in this brochure and shall satisfy his/her eligibility to appear in the examination. The candidate is required to go through the information brochure carefully and acquaint himself/herself with all requirements with regard to the fillingin of the Application Form. c. Overwriting, cutting, erasing in the application forms may lead to rejection of the form and should be avoided. Any error arising on this account shall be the responsibility of the candidate. (It is advisable to first fill in a photocopy of the form and then fill in the main document.) Candidate should write his/her complete address in the application form for further correspondence. Pin Code should be given in the space provided for Pin Code. Candidates are also advised to keep photocopy of OMR Form in their record. d. Filled in application Forms complete in all respect (Jain minority candidate shall submit caste certificate from the competent authority) can be submitted to any of the above Colleges in person along with Examination Fee of Rs. 1500/- by CASH / Demand Draft drawn in favour of Association of Private Medical and Dental Colleges of Chhattisgarh, payable at Bhilai. The application is required to be duly returned in the envelope provided along with the Application Form. e. Incomplete application forms will be rejected. 8 ADMIT CARD Candidate will receive the Test Admit Card by UPC (Under Postal Certificate). In case the candidate does not receive the Admit card, then the same will be allotted to the candidate from the college before commencement of exam. Please note that the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the test if he / she do not possess the Test Admit Card. The candidate is required to preserve the Test Admit Card for all future reference and correspondence. Page 3 of 8

Remaining candidate up to a fixed number will be kept in the waiting list. (Students who will secure atleast 50% marks in the AICET MDS 2015 will be called for counseling). 12 SCRUTINY: All successful candidates included in the merit and waiting lists shall be called for scrutiny. The registration for counseling and scrutiny of documents of successful candidates will be done on the day of counseling. 13 SELECTION PROCEDURE The selection process for the Dental college will done strictly on the basis of merit of AICET MDS 2015.The allotment to MDS course will be done on the basis of merit of the candidate. The candidate must produce original certificate at the time of admission and three set of attested photocopy of each of the document as per the list given below hereafter. Jain candidate will be given 5% Additional Bonus on total Marks which is applicable only for Jain Minority Institutes. 15 COUNSELING a. The allotment of seat shall be made to the candidate through counseling on the basis of personal appearances. Counseling shall be done on merit basis. The counseling committee will consist of All Members of admission committee or any one as per the decision of admission committee. Counseling will be held after the declaration of written examination of AICET (MDS) at Rungta College of Dental Sciences and Research, Kohka, Bhilai. b. Candidates who have been allotted a seat in first allotment on merit cum-preference basis, and because of any reason could not join the allotted seat in such case the decision of admission committee shall be binding and final. 6 c. The programme for counseling shall be advertised on the website (i) (ii) (iii) & (iv) (v) Separate call latter will not be sent. Candidate shall have to travel for the counseling at their own cost. The candidate without original documents as mentioned below shall not be eligible to participate in counseling. d. The candidate is required to come to Rungta College of Dental Sciences and Research, Bhilai, on the date of counseling. The candidate shall wait for their turn in the order of merit. The allotment letter shall be issued on payment of full fee prescribed for the course or as the admission committee decision through Cash/Bank Draft in favour of (i) Chhattisgarh Dental College and Research Institute, Rajnandgaon (ii) Maitri College of Dentistry and Research Centre, Anjora, Durg (iii) Rungta College of Dental Sciences and Research, Bhilai, (iv) New Horizon Dental College & Research Institute, Bilaspur & (v) Triveni Institute of Dental Sciences, Hospital and Research Centre, Bilaspur. e. Candidate due to any unavoidable circumstances does not remain present on the date and time fixed for them for scrutiny of the document and counseling then such candidate, if they come afterward, they shall be considered only at the stage, where the counseling is in progressing irrespective of their merit. They shall be considered only if the counseling is going on, and allotment done before to other candidate on the basis of their merit shall remain unchanged. Such candidates those who are absent or those who could not participate in the counseling due to incomplete documentation shall be called in the next counseling if seat remain vacant before 31/05/2015. f. Allotted branch may be interchanged through internal counseling on receipt of written request from the candidates. Admission to the candidate will be given after the candidate will deposit his/her all relevant certificates, documents along with the complete tuition fee through bank draft/cash in favour of (i) Chhattisgarh Dental College and Research Institute, Rajnandgaon (ii) Rungta College of Dental Sciences and Research, Bhilai (iii) Maitri College of Dentistry and Research Centre, Anjora, Durg & (iv) New Horizon Dental College & Research Institute, Bilaspur and (v) Triveni Institute of Dental Sciences, Hospital and Research Centre, Bilaspur. 7 Any candidate or his authorized proxy if found obstructing the admission process or creating nuisance, the candidate shall be liable for disqualification from the admission process. The decision taken by the college authority shall be final and binding. 16. FEES FOR MDS COURSE Final Fee Structure for the MDS course will be applicable as per the directives of the Fee Fixation Committee, Govt. of Chhattisgarh. 17 ADMISSION Consequent upon a candidate's allotment he / she should report on the notified date and time to the Dean / Principal of the Colleges. 18 CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE The student while studying in the MDS course, if found indulging in anti national activities unlawful activities or ragging in any form, contrary to the provisions of Act and Law enforced by Government, will be liable to be expelled from the college by the Dean/Principal of the College a b c Failure of the candidate in making full and correct statements in the application form and / or suppression of any information is liable for disqualification of the candidate, even at the later date. Such a candidate will be debarred from the entire selection process and pursuing the course of studies. It is the responsibility of every candidate to submit proper documents. Any attempt to submit documents, which are not genuine, will lead to cancellation of the admission of the candidate, forfeiture of the fees, deposits and expulsion of the candidate from the college by the Admission Committee or his authorized official. The name of such candidate/s shall be deleted from the Merit List. Pursuant to the orders is W.P. (Civil) No. 615 of 1999, Hon'ble Supreme Court of India has directed the of Human Resources and Development, Govt. of India, to take all necessary steps to curb the menace of ragging and take severe action against the students involved in such activities. Students to take serious note of it. d As per the provisions in "Chhattisgarh Prohibition Ragging Act of 1999", students indulging in ragging can be punished under the Act resulting in suspension, expulsion from the college and imprisonment. Student failing to clear MDS course in the stipulated time fixed by DCI and continuing thereafter shall be asked to pay proportionate fee for the remaining period of the course. e Any issue not dealt herein above will be dealt with, when arising fully and finally by the Admission Committee. 8 19 JURISDICTION In case of any legal dispute, the jurisdiction shall be limited to the District Court where the concerned college is situated. 20 IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS a b c d e f g The candidate are advised before filling up the form, to ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility and qualifying conditions with respect to age, qualification etc. for admission to the course applied for. The candidates are not required to attach/enclose any documents with the application form. They shall be required to produce the same at the time of counseling. Please ensure that the OMR application forms is neither folded nor torn or mutilated. Photograph for OMR application form must be White Background, Full face both the ears and shoulders should be visible in the photograph, photograph should be in MAT finish. The institute shall not be responsible for the application forms lost in transit; received after due date and no correspondence in this respect shall be entertained. Canvassing directly or indirectly for the allotment of seat would disqualify the candidates for admission. Influencing the staff by unfair means will lead to cancellation" of allotted seat and such candidate will also face disqualification for appearance in the subsequent AICET MDS Incomplete Application form will be rejected.
