1 SPECIAL NOTICE TO APPLICANTS Applying for the McEuen Scholarship for study at University of St. Andrews, Scotland. 1. To be guaranteed a place at the University of St. Andrews, all applicants for the McEuen Scholarship Award are required to apply (at their own cost and expense) for admission to the University of St. Andrews before the deadline for filing applications for the McEuen Scholarship Award and deliver proof of acceptance to the Foundation when received. In the event the applicant s proof of acceptance from University of St. Andrews is not received by the applicant before the January 31 deadline for filing applications for the McEuen Scholarship Award, the applicant shall indicate in the application form that the proof of acceptance will follow. An applicant who is short-listed for an interview with the Selection Committee must ensure his/her proof of acceptance is received by the Foundation before the date of the applicant s interview with the Selection Committee. The scholarship cannot be awarded to an applicant who has not been accepted for admission to University of St. Andrews. 2. To apply to the University of St. Andrews, go to the St. Andrews link on the McEuen Scholarship website and select Visit St. Andrews Website - Prospective Students - International Students - North American Applicants - Direct Application International Undergraduate Admissions. 3. The winner of the McEuen Scholarship will be notified not later than May 1 st following a personal interview with the Selection Committee in Ottawa. Applicants invited to appear personally before the Selection Committee will be reimbursed for reasonable travel expenses within Canada. Applicants unable to attend for a personal interview will be deemed ineligible. 4. The winner of the McEuen Scholarship will be required to meet any conditions imposed by the University of St. Andrews with respect to the admission of that person. 5. Note to Applicants applying for entry to Medical Science Program at St. Andrews: The Medical Science degree program is for 6 years with 3 years spent at University of St. Andrews and the remaining 3 years spent at University of Manchester. The charter of the McEuen Scholarship Foundation limits the scholarship award to study at University of St. Andrews, therefore scholarship support is for University of St. Andrews only and is not available for study at another UK university.
