2 2 / Context Large increase of the activities of Thales in Aerospace & Defence Transportation Smart Cities Underwater systems Satellites
3 3 / Context In order to develop and strengthen Indo-French scientific cooperation through close collaborations between Indian and French laboratories, in order to boost industrial research by strong interconnections with academic institutions, Thales and IITs propose to set up a fellowship scheme for PhD students. In 2014, Thales DMS propose to create a Joint Fellow Ship Programme for indian PhD students In the first edition of this new programme, up to 4 fellowships from India will be funded. The students benefitting from these Joint PhD fellowships will have both a PhD supervisor in France and a PhD supervisor in India, and obtain at the end a PhD diploma from France and India.
4 4 / Selection of Indian Institutes The following scientific fields focusing on advanced smart electronic technologies for future airborne systems will be covered: Advanced electronics systems Electromagnetism and antennas simulation and modelling Airborne complex system engineering I.A. & Data management systems Nanotechnologies Based on these scientific themes and thanks to the expertise of the CNRS (INSIS, INS2I and DERCI) and the support of the french embassy in India, we have selected first Indian Institutes of Technologies for starting the process
