2 Preparation Check List Submit an Anne Arundel Community College Admissions Application. o Submit an AACC application in person or online at o Click on the Apply Now button. o For more information about registration please call o Placement Prep Introduction o Starting from o Click on Placement Test for New Students. o All students are required to watch the ACCUPLACER Prep Video. At the completion of the prep video a certificate will be generated. o The certificate needs to be printed and presented to an AACC Testing Staff member at the time of testing. o Review additional student materials to prepare for ACCUPLACER. Such as, additional links to preparation links, ACCUPLCER s free Study App. Visit the Testing Center to complete the ACCUPLACER Test. o Submit ACCUPLACER Prep Video certificate to a Testing Staff member. 5 ACCUPLACER Prep Video ACCUPLACER for Native Speaking Students Students that are taking the ACCUPLACER placement test for AACC are required to complete the ACCUPLACER Prep video. The video will take approximately 4 minutes to complete. At the completion of the ACCUPLACER Prep video a certificate will appear that must be printed and handed to a Testing Staff member in order to take the ACCUPLACER placement exam. To view the ACCUPLACER Prep Guide video please visit: English as a Second Language ACCUPLACER Students who do not speak English or their second language is English may be given the ACCUPLACER LOEP exam. Based on the student's background, ACCUPLACER will automatically determine if the LOEP exam is required. After completing the LOEP exam a student may be required to write an essay to complete the LOEP placement. We encourage all ESL students review our ACCUPLACER Prep Guide and the required ESL English Speaking ESL Prep Video Spanish Speaking ESL Prep Video After the Video Once students have completed the ACCUPLACER Prep video they will be asked a few questions and then receive a certificate showing that they have viewed the video. This certificate needs to be presented to our Testing Center staff when students are ready to take the ACCUPLACER. If students do not have a certificate when they arrive for testing, the video will shown at that time. 4

6 Study and Prep Resources Official ACCUPLACER Study Web App The College Board has released an official ACCUPLACER Study Web App for any desktop or mobile device. This app allows students to take a sample exam for the ACCUPLACER English, reading and math test. The app also offers additional information on how to prepare for the test. The ACCUPLACER Web Study App is available for free. We encourage all students to use this app. Please only complete the following sample test(s) in the ACCUPLACER Study App. Note: Please select the following Classic ACCUPLACER sample test. Reading Comprehension Sentence Skills Elementary Algebra College Level Math DO NOT USE the Arithmetic sample; this test is not used by AACC. 23 AACC Arithmetic Health Professions/Science Placement The Arithmetic Placement Test is designed to determine whether a student has sufficient arithmetic skills. The following problems are similar to those given on the screening test. If you take some time to practice, your score will surely be higher. The answers to the problems appear at the end of this material. The screening test is timed (1 hour) so your practice should be for accuracy and speed. There are thirty-six problems on the test and a score of 27 or better is passing. Only one retake of the test is allowed. Students who are not successful in the retake must enroll in MAT 005.
