1 2018 Application for Class of 2021 APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS I. Please submit the Application Form (online) for the Neeley Fellows program by 5 p.m. on March 23, II. III. IV. Submit your resume in the format of the sample included in this document to Megan McKinney, Program Specialist, in Tandy Hall 380, by 5 p.m. on March 23, Your resume may be as long as necessary to include all the relevant details; however, you are expected to keep it in the format requested. Submit your cover letter addressed to Meg Lehman, Program Director, Neeley Fellows to Megan McKinney in Tandy Hall 380 by 5 p.m. on March 23, 2018 explaining the following: a. Why would you like to participate in the Neeley Fellows program? b. What would you consider your personal responsibility, and significant contribution, as a Neeley Fellow? c. Why do you want to pursue a degree in business? d. Why is honors education important to you? Your carefully crafted, thorough letter should clearly convey to the committee that you have spent time researching the program, talking to current Neeley Fellows and thinking about your future. Please read and sign the Neeley Fellows Statement of Values, and turn into Megan McKinney in Tandy Hall 380 by 5 p.m. on March 23, V. Conduct face-to-face informational interviews between March 29 and April 12, 2018 with two current Neeley Fellows that will be assigned to you. addresses of students to contact will be ed to you. The purpose of the informational interviews is: 1) For the Neeley Fellows applicants: a. to become more knowledgeable about the program b. to become comfortable with networking that is a critical part of the program 2) For the current Neeley Fellows: a. to have an opportunity to connect with the future Neeley Fellows b. to have an opportunity to give back to the program by actively participating in the program s admissions process 3) For the Neeley Fellows program: a. to receive feedback about the applicants from the current Neeley Fellows. This feedback is used as one of many assessments of the applicant Please fill out the last page of this document and check off which current Neeley Fellows you know and turn in along with your resume, cover letter, and Statement of Values to Megan McKinney in Tandy Hall 380 by 5 p.m. on March 23, 2018.

2 VI. VII. Send one letter of recommendation addressed to Meg Lehman, Program Director, Neeley Fellows. Mail to Box , 2932A Merida Ave., Ft. Worth, TX or to Megan McKinney: a. The letter should elaborate in detail on your strengths, accomplishments, specific traits such as dedication, leadership, initiative, responsibility, attitude, integrity, passion for learning, interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork. b. The letter of recommendation should be from a high school or college teacher or from an employer, counselor or community service leader. This letter of recommendation should be from a person who knows you well. c. We must receive the letter by March 23, d. The letter should be current. Please do not use an old letter of recommendation from your college application as it will not be included as part of the process. e. Please do not have family members send a letter of recommendation. f. Your minister or pastor should be sending a letter only if you were involved in community service through your church. g. A letter from friends of the family should only be sent in case the friend of the family knows the applicant well and can speak either as a teacher, an employer or a community service leader. h. A letter from independent college counselors paid to counsel the applicant by the family of the applicant will not be accepted. There will be a Neeley Fellows Alumni Recruiting Roundtable on Sunday, April 22, 2018 in the BLUU - Beck & Geren Room. You will be notified for your session prior to this date.
