2 Talking Points Develop a deeper understanding of the OECD Test for Schools and the type of questions tested Unpack the school report Engage in a data dialogue protocol to analyze district data Determine next steps and plan for the use of school data

3 Overview The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Test for Schools data is comparable to existing Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) scales. The OECD Test for Schools was piloted in 2013 in 105 schools across the US. 247 schools across the US took the assessment in The age of the student who takes the assessment is 15. Students are selected from a random sample. 64 BHS students took the assessment in February The international PISA results are published every 3 years and is used as the comparative benchmark.

4 Overview Students respond to approximately 3 hours of test questions in reading, mathematics and science and answer a 30 minute student questionnaire that is an important part of the assessment. Besides the mean average score, schools receive information about the percentage of students who performed in each of the 6 proficiency levels. 7 How Does Barrington Compare? Results in reading show that Barrington High School performed above the mean of all six of the PISA test s top-ranked nations (Shanghai-China, Korea, Finland, Hong Kong-China, Singapore, and Canada) and ranked significantly above the United States mean. In math, BHS delivered performed above the mean of the five of the top-ranked nations (Korea, Finland, Hong Kong-China, Singapore, and Canada) and significantly above the U.S. mean. In science BHS performed above the mean of the five of the six top-ranked nations (Korea, Finland, Hong Kong-China, Singapore, and Canada) and significantly above the U.S. mean.
