2 1 The University is a private university established in accordance with the Xavier University, Odisha Act, Xavier Institute of Management (XIMB), a 30-year old autonomous B-School of the Xavier University, is the flagship school of the Faculty of Management of the same University. XUB has set up other schools of higher learning, such as Xavier School of Human Resource Management (XAHR), Xavier School of Rural Management (XSRM), Xavier School of Sustainability (XSoS), Xavier School of Commerce (XSC), Xavier School of Communications (XCOMM), Xavier School of Economics (XSE) and Xavier School of Computer Science & Engineering (XCOMP). The University has also set up the Xavier Center for Urban Management & Governance (XUMG). APPLICATION Q. What are the Under-Graduate Programs offered, eligibility criteria and admission procedure? XUB application form can be filled up through online mode only. You will therefore need access to an internet enabled computer to apply to our program(s). Q. I am continuing Class Can I apply to XUB now for the UG program(s)? Yes, you may apply to XUB s UG program even if you are continuing your Class - 12; subject to completing the final part of the board examinations and expecting your final results by May 31, 2018 with a minimum of 55%/60% marks in aggregate (refer Table-1). Q. Is there a maximum age limit for applicants of UG program(s)? No, age is not a factor for the prospective applicants. Q. I want to apply for more than one UG program at XUB. What is the process? You can surely apply for more than one program at XUB, but you will have to choose the individual programs in the online application form. The total application fee will be calculated by the system. You need to use single form for applying to multiple programs. Q. Do I have to get ready with any documents before filling the online application form? Yes, before filling up the online application form get ready with a valid ID, academic credentials, and the digital copy (in prescribed size/pixel) of your pass port size photograph and signature. Q. Can I edit the application form after submitting? No, once you submit the filled application form, editing of data is not possible.

4 3 Q. After applying online successfully, do I need to send any hardcopy (e.g. my academic transcripts/mark sheets, printed copy of the application form, other documents and photographs) to XUB? Please don t send any hardcopy of the documents/credentials to XUB after registering successfully unless intimated. However, in case you have filled the application before the announcement of your Class-12 result, you must mail us your academic transcripts/mark sheets (scanned/digital copy), via to admission@xub.edu.in immediately after the announcement of your Class-12 result. INTERVIEWS / RESULT Q. Do you conduct Written Test/Personal Interview as a part of the admission process? Although we are conducting Written Test/Personal Interview of all shortlisted candidates for some of our programs, our admission procedure is different for all individual schools (see table-1 above or refer our UG Admission Bulletin 2018). Q. Where will I get information on the final selection? Selected candidates will be notified by and admission offer letter will be sent to candidates by couriers or speed post. ADMISSION Q. How can I get the UG Admission Bulletin-2018? You may refer the UG Admission Bulletin-2018 in our website Q. Can I request deferment of my admission? No, there is no provision for deferment of admission. The conditions for accepting the admission offer will be mentioned in the admission offer letter. On non-fulfillment of the same, the admission offer will automatically stand cancelled. FEES Q. How much is the application fee? The application fee is INR for the first choice/option, and INR each for every subsequent program. Q. May I know the fee structure of programs offered by XUB? Please refer to the link

5 4 Q. What are the educational loan options available to XUB students? A substantial number of our current students have availed educational loans from nationalized banks, e.g. State Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Canara Bank etc. However, the agreement is between the bank and the student directly. HOSTEL Q. Are hostels compulsory for students taking admission for Under-Graduate programs in XUB? No, as our UG programs aren t residential, hostels aren t compulsory for all the students taking admission to UG programs in XUB. However, they may opt for hostel. Hostel allocation to students is based on the availability. Q. How about the residential facilities at XUB? There are separate residences for gents and ladies. The mess is run by a private contractor and managed by a student s committee and serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. The facilities at XUB includes 24-hour internet connectivity through the latest Wi-Fi technology, laser printing and photocopying machines, multi-purpose hall, co-operative store, book club, washing machines, water coolers, geysers, telephones, televisions, undisturbed power supply, different indoor games space, a campus doctor, nurses, 24x7 ambulance for medical emergency, CCTV surveillance, security people for safety, bank branch and ATM machines etc. MISCELLANEOUS Q. How many campuses are there for XUB? How far they are from important destinations? XUB has two campuses; the 30 years old XIMB campus and the new Xavier City campus situated at Nijigada, Kurki. The distance of the new campus from Bhubaneswar railway station is 17 kilometers and from Biju Pattnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar, it is 15 kilometers. All UG programs are offered from the Xavier City Campus. Q. What are the facilities available at XUB? The new Xavier city campus is situated in 35 acres of well-maintained compact campus with all the facilities befitting a world-class B-School. The campus houses air-conditioned class rooms with audio visual facility and LCD projectors, spacious libraries with over 60,000 books and subscribe to over 12,000 journals (including electronic journals), separate hostels for boys & girls in the premise with LAN nodes in every rooms, Mess facility with vegetarian & non-vegetarian meals, 24-hour internet connectivity through the latest Wi-Fi technology, 360 MBPS leased line internet support, round-the-clock printing & copying facility, campus doctor and ambulance for 24x7 aid, security guards and CCTV surveillance. The recreational facilities include cricket & soccer fields, floodlit basketball & lawn tennis courts, indoor badminton hall, gymnasium, jogging tracks etc.

6 5 Q. What about the faculty strength in XUB? There are more than 100 full-time faculty members in XUB. Also a large number of eminent visiting faculty members form a strong base for its intellectual capital. Q. What are the courses available in various academic programs? Please refer to the UG Admission Bulletin 2018 for details. Q. Is a Laptop Computer mandatory for a UG student of XUB? No, it isn t mandatory to possess a laptop, while you are a student of the UG program of XUB. Q. Does XUB offer distance education program? No, XUB does not offer any distance education program. All programs are full-time at XUB.
