6 ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS All applicants for admission to the freshman class are strongly encouraged to submit scores from a standardized entrance examination to support the academic information supplied by the secondary school. Wiley accepts scores from either the American College Testing program (ACT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Scores from tests taken between November and March of the senior year are preferred. A student who seeks early admission should take the test no later than April of his or her junior year in high school. Detailed information concerning procedures to follow and time and place to take these tests can be obtained from the high school counselor or from the Wiley College Office of Admissions and Recruitment. NOTIFICATION OF ADMISSION Applicants will be notified in writing of their acceptance or rejection as early as possible after the receipt of their credentials. Under no circumstances should applicants present themselves for registration without having received written notification of acceptance. New traditional students are enrolled at the beginning of each semester. New non-traditional students are enrolled at the start of each new cohort. MEDICAL REPORT A properly-executed medical examination form which certifies that the student has met specific health requirements should be submitted to the Office of Health Services prior to registration. EDUCATIONAL ACCOMMODATION SERVICES FOR STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS The College attempts to provide reasonable educational accommodations and academic support for students with documented disabilities. Individuals needing special accommodations must make such declaration known and provide current documentation of their special needs or disability to the Admissions Office prior to enrollment. If the student does not acknowledge or report (with documentation) his/her need for accommodations prior to admission, the College will not be obligated to make accommodations for the student for the length of that semester. The Admissions Office will receive the necessary documentation and submit it for consideration and review by the Educational Accommodations Committee in Academic Affairs. Once this committee has made a determination and agreed on the accommodations that the College can make available, the Admissions Office is notified. If the student is admitted, the Dean of the Division of General Education and Special Studies (GESS) will officially notify professors and/or other college personnel on a need-to-know basis to implement the accommodations. If a student needs to apply for special educational accommodations after enrollment as a regular student, the student must contact either the Dean of the GESS division or Admissions Office and provide current documentation of his/her disability or special needs. The same procedure will be followed for determination. The College
7 will change the status of the student and will provide the accommodations agreed on by the Educational Accommodations Committee only after this determination has been made.
