1 List of law entrance Exams Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) CLAT entrance examination is conducted for admission to 17 of the coveted National Law Schools. CLAT Eligibility Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary School/Intermediate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent examination with not less than 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of SC/ST/OBC and persons with Disability). There is no age bar for appearing in CLAT Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination can also appear provisionally. However, they shall have to produce proof of having passed the qualifying examination before or at the time of admission with detailed mark sheet. Candidate with compartment/supplementary in any subject in the qualifying examination will not be eligible for admission. CLAT 2016 Syllabus CLAT 2016 shall be conducted in online mode where the paper will have 200 questions from five different subjects including English (Comprehension), General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability), Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. Following are the subject-wise syllabus of the common law admission test- CLAT English Syllabus (including Comprehension): You need to focus over English based comprehension passages and grammar. In the comprehension section, you will be questioned on understanding of a passage including its central theme and word-meanings. Some of the questions will also cover questions like correction of the incorrect grammatical sentences, fill in the blanks with appropriate words, etc. CLAT General Knowledge & Current Affairs Syllabus: This section will test the knowledge of general awareness including static GK. Apart from GK, questions will also cover the recent topics and current affairs broadly featuring between March 2015 and April CLAT Mathematics (Numerical Ability) Syllabus: The questions will generally of the numerical ability type of Class 10thÂ standard. CLAT Legal Aptitude Syllabus: The section will majorly test your interest towards study of law, research aptitude and problem solving ability. The questions will be framed on legal propositions and set of facts satisfying the propositions. The propositions may not be true in real sense and you will have to assume the true proposition based on the set of facts and answer the questions accordingly.

CLAT Logical Reasoning Syllabus: The questions of this section will test your ability to identify the patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments.

The section will also cover a variety of logical aptitude questions including syllogism, logical sequences, analogies, etc. However, the logical reasoning section will not have visual reasoning questions. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the national level law entrance exam conducted every year for shortlisting candidates for as many as 2190 seats distributed among the16 participating NLUs. Last year as many as candidates had registered for CLAT out of which candidates appeared for the admission test. CLAT SEAT INTAKE There are more than 2000 seats at different NLUs, which are filled by CLAT. Students who crack AILET are eligible to pursue B.A. L.L.B (Hons), L.L.M and Ph.D Degree Programs on a merit base. There are 80 seats in B.A. L.L.B course, 20 in L.L.M and Ph.D seats usually do not exceed over 10. AILET Eligibility: Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 System) or equivalent Examination with not less than 50% of marks in the aggregate Candidate should be below 21 years (23 years in case of SC/ST candidates) as on 1st of July of the year of the exam. Candidates who have appeared in Class 12th exam in May or April same year may also apply. However, such candidates are requested to carry recuisite documents to prove they have passed with required marks. AILET 2016 Syllabus AILET 2016 shall be conducted in offline mode where the paper will have 150 questions of objective (Multiple-Choice Questions) nature. 4 AILET English Syllabus: The English section will comprise of 35 questions from comprehension passages, synonyms, antonyms, choosing correct words, idioms and phrases, jumble words and sentences, fill-in the blanks, etc. The unseen passages will be tailed by questions related to the passage. The English section is meant to test the language skill and vocabulary of the candidates. AILET General Knowledge Syllabus: The 35 questions of General Knowledge will cover the topics such as History, Geography, General Science, Economics, Civics and Current Affairs of the past one year. This section will assess your knowledge of the recent happenings and awareness of the world. AILET Basic Mathematics Syllabus: This section will have 10 questions to test the numerical ability of candidates. The Mathematics questions will be set from 10th and 12th level, of various topics including Profit and Loss, Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Algebra, Average, Permutation and Combination and Venn Diagrams. AILET Legal Aptitude Syllabus: The section will majorly test your interest towards study of law, research aptitude and problem solving ability. AILET Reasoning Syllabus: There shall be as many as 35 questions testing your logical and analytical reasoning skills. You will come across some questions with passages and the reasoning questions will be framed on the information provided in the passages. All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is conducted by National Law University Delhi (NLU-D) for admissions to as many as 81 seats in five-year integrated law programme. Last year as many as applicants had registered for AILET. AILET Exam Pattern Total Marks: 150 Total number of questions: 150 Duration of the Examination: 1 hour 30 minutes LAW School Admission Test (LSAT) The LSAT-India is a test of reasoning and reading skills, not a test to see whether you happened to have memorized the right facts or equations. The theory behind the LSAT-India is democratic and inclusive. It holds that students acquire critical thinking skills over their educational lifetimes, and that these skills are the most important for the study of law. Good critical thinking skills may be acquired in virtually any educational programme anywhere so long as it is rigorous and of high quality. Thus, no training in any specific field or set of fields is required to do well on the LSAT-India. The test rewards candidates with generalised abilities adaptable to a variety of circumstances.

5 Candidates have the benefit of taking a single test - the LSAT-India - to become eligible for the admissions process of multiple law colleges in India which recognize the LSAT-India scores. Candidates can take the LSAT-India on Sunday, 15th May, 2016 at any of the test centres spread across 16 cities in India. After completing the LSAT-India registration, candidates can apply to the associated colleges (colleges which will accept LSAT-India scores). Candidates can choose to apply to any or all of the associated colleges, however, LSAT-India scores will be given to all associated colleges. Candidates can download the application forms from the respective college websites and apply to the colleges mentioning their LSAT-India registration number. LSAT-India is a paper-and-pencil test with four sections. Test duration - 2 hours and 20 minutes Question type - Multiple Choice format

Two of the sections contain Logical Reasoning questions; one section contains Analytical Reasoning questions; and one section contains Reading Comprehension questions Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) The Symbiosis Law School conducts the SET, a common written test, for admission to its undergraduate institutes of Symbiosis International University. Each Symbiosis institute (including Symbiosis Law School) has its independent selection process. SET Eligibility The candidate should have passed 12th (10+2) examination from any recognized board with minimum 50% marks (45% for S.C./S.T.students) in first attempt. Students who have appeared for their H.S.C finals and awaiting results are also eligible to apply, subject to submission of passing certificate by the announced date. Candidate should be less than 20 years of age at the time of appearing for SET (2 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates i.e. 22 years) SET Exam Pattern No. of questions: 150 Total Marks: 150 Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes BHU BA LLB Admission Test (BLAT) - BLAT is an All India entrance test for admission to the integrated five year B.A.L.L.B(Hons.) Course, Offered by Faculty of Law (Banaras Hindu university). BLAT Eligibility Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 System) or equivalent Examination with recognized board. Minimum marks obtained in BLAT for admission should not be less than 50% of the total marks in the General Category applicant, 45% in case of OBC and 40% in case of SC & ST applicants. BLAT Exam Pattern No. of questions: 150 Total Marks: 450 Duration: 2 hours Subjects: English, General Awareness and Current Affairs, Legal Aptitude and Mental Ability.
