4 A. OFFICERS University Librarian: : QUALIFICATIONS : 1. Master s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC 7 points scale & consistently good academic record. 2. At least 13 years as Deputy Librarian in a University Library or 18 years experience as a University/National Institutes/College Librarian of which at least 3 years shall be as Deputy Librarian OR M.Phil/Ph.D Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation/Archives & Manuscript keeping with 10 years experience as a University/National Institutes/College Librarian of which at least 3 years shall be as Deputy Librarian. Desirable: Evidence of innovation in Library services & organization of published work. B. TEACHERS I. Professor Cadre: i. An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers, of which at least five papers in NAAS rated journals of not less than 4 in the previous cadre. ii. A Master s Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent. iii. A minimum of ten years of experience in teaching/ research/ extension of which at least a minimum of 2 years in the cadre of Associate Professor in university/college, and/or experience in research at the University/National level institutions/industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research. iv. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process. v. A minimum score as stipulated in the prescribed Score Card. II. Associate Professor Cadre: i. Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines. ii. A Master s Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent. iii. A minimum of eight years of experience in teaching/research/ extension in the cadre of Assistant Professor or in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers, of which at least three papers in NAAS rated journals of not less than 4 in the previous cadre. iv. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process with evidence of guiding candidates for research. v. A minimum score as stipulated in the prescribed Score Card.

5 Note: 1. The candidates applying for the posts in the cadre of Professor & Associate Professor have to enclose their bio-data and reprints of publications. 2. Only the actual duration of absence of the candidate (subject to a maximum of three years) from regular place of work for prosecuting Ph.D. studies under any scheme shall be deducted from the total experience from the feeder cadre for appointment/promotions. III. Assistant Professor Cadre: 1. Good Academic record with at least 55% of the marks or, an equivalent grade of B in 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at the Master s degree level, in the concerned subject from a recognized Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a Foreign University. 2. Candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) in the concerned / related subject for Assistant Professor post conducted by the ASRB/UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by the ICAR/ICMR/NCERT/UGC/CSIR i.e., (a) For Agriculture /Animal Husbandry / Veterinary / Fisheries disciplines, ASRB/ ICAR NET in the concerned subject is prescribed (b) For Humanities, languages, etc., UGC NET is prescribed (c) For pure Sciences CSIR NET is prescribed 3. For the candidates having Master s degree, NET shall remain compulsory along with one publication in NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi) rated refereed journal for recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor and equivalent in the disciplines in which NET is conducted. Essentiality of NET can be waived off for the candidates holding Ph.D degree provided it has been done with course work as prescribed by the UGC Regulations 2009, and the candidate has at least two full length publications (in journals) having a NAAS rating not less than 4, on the last date of submission of application. Those candidates with Ph.D degree without course work will not qualify for NET exemption. Note: 1. Detailed qualifications for concerned subjects are prescribed separately for each discipline. 2. A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Master s level for the SC/ST category. 3. The details of conversion on 7 point scale into percentage equivalent is as under: Seven Point Scale Grade Grade point Percentage equivalent O = Outstanding A = Very Good B = Good C = Average D = Below Average E = Poor F = Fail

6 C. TECHNICAL ASSISTANTS / FARM MANAGERS / PROGRAMME ASSISTANTS: I. TECHNICAL ASSISTANTS / PROGRAMME ASSISTANTS: a. A Bachelor s degree in Agriculture / Horticulture / Agricultural Mktg. & Co-operation / Sericulture /Home Science / Agril.Engineering / Veterinary Science/ Animal Science / Forestry from a recognized Agricultural University with good academic record with a minimum OGPA of 6.50/10.00 or CGPA of 2.25/4.00 or its equivalent or 55% of marks (where grade points are not in vogue). b. A relaxation of minimum OGPA from 6.50/10.00 to 6.00/10.00 and CGPA of 2.25/4.00 to 2.00/4.00 is provided for SC/ST category & Physically / Visually disabled persons. (55% to 50% of marks where grade points are not in vogue). II. FARM MANAGERS: a. A Bachelor s degree in Agriculture / Horticulture from a recognized Agricultural University with good academic record with a minimum OGPA of 6.50/10.00 or CGPA of 2.25/4.00 or its equivalent or 55% of marks (where grade points are not in vogue). b. A relaxation of minimum OGPA from 6.50/10.00 to 6.00/10.00 and CGPA of 2.25/4.00 to 2.00/4.00 is provided for SC/ST category (55% to 50% of marks where grade points are not in vogue). GENERAL: 1. Candidates with knowledge of Kannada are preferred for the teaching posts in the University. 2. Kannada speaking, reading and writing is essential for all KVK & ICAR Scheme posts in UAS, Dharwad. D. SERVICE PERSONNEL: I. Driver (Light Vehicle): a) Must have passed SSLC. b) Must have a light vehicles driving licence. c) Must have experience of not less than 2 yrs. in driving light vehicle excluding the period of Learner s Driving Licence. d) Must have a record of good service. Note: For in-service candidates working on regular / temporary basis / MRE s in UAS, Dharwad attending driving work, 7 th standard is the minimum qualification. II. Assistant Cook cum Caretaker: a) Must have passed 7 th Std. b) Must have experience of not less than 5 years as Cook in a Govt. / University Guest House or Hostel in preparing Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian items. c) Must possess good physique. d) Must have a record of good service. Note: Experience / Service Certificates produced by the applicants must be issued by competent Authorities of the concerned Institutions, Universities etc., or otherwise the applications will be rejected.

7 : INSTRUCTIONS : 1. The candidates who have applied for the said posts in response to the notifications referred to above have to apply afresh. However, the candidates who have already submitted their applications for the post of University Librarian in response to the University Notification dated need not apply. 2. The entire notification along with the detailed qualifications & application pro-forma prescribed for each of the categories of the posts notified is accessible from the official website ( of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad. 3. The persons claiming reservation under Hyderabad-Karnataka Region have to enclose requisite certificate issued by the competent Authorities in support of their claim. In case of employees of UAS, Dharwad, only those who have exercised their option for the State Level Regional Cadre are eligible to apply for the posts earmarked for candidates belonging to Hyderabad-Karnataka Region. 4. Persons other than those belonging to Hyderabad-Karnataka Region need not apply for the posts under the said quota. 5. In case candidates belonging to Hyderabad-Karnataka Region are not available for the post reserved for the said category, the vacancy will be carried forward for future notifications as a backlog. 6. The entire notification including the application pro-forma prescribed for each of the categories of the posts notified is accessible from the official website ( of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad. 7. The applicants for the posts of Officers have to enclose the processing fee in the form of Indian Postal Order / Demand Draft / Bankers Cheque for ` 3000 (in case of SC/ST ` 1500 only) payable to Comptroller, UAS, Dharwad drawn within the period from to while submitting the filled in application pro-forma. 8. The applicants for the posts of Teachers have to enclose processing fee in the form of Indian Postal Order / Demand Draft / Bankers Cheque for Rs.1000/- (For SC/ST applicants Rs.500/- only) payable to the Comptroller, UAS, Dharwad drawn within the period from to while submitting the filled in application pro-forma. 9. The applicants for the posts of Technical Assistants / Programme Assistants / Farm Managers & Service Personnel have to enclose processing fee in the form of Indian Postal Order / Demand Draft / Bankers Cheque for Rs.600/- (For SC/ST applicants Rs.300/- only) payable to the Comptroller, UAS, Dharwad drawn within the period from to while submitting the filled in application pro-forma. 10. The filled-in applications which do not accompany the prescribed fee are liable to be rejected. 11. Separate applications with separate fee are required for each of the post applied. Applications for two different posts should not be tagged together. 12. The qualifications and score cards for selection of candidates for the posts of Officers shall be in accordance with the University Notifications R/BOR-121/2007, dt , R/BOR-121/2008, dt , R/B-122(Adj.)/2008, dt.

The qualifications and score cards for selection of candidates for the posts of Farm Managers / Technical Assistants / Programme Assistants are in accordance with the University Notification R/BOR-121/2007, dt & , R/B- 122(Adj.)/2008, dated 19/ The qualifications for the posts of Service Personnel are in accordance with the Cadre and Recruitment Regulations of the University and the score card is as per the Notification R//Rectt/B-105/2004, dated The roster prescribed for the posts notified herewith is in accordance with the following Karnataka State Government Orders (a) SiAaSuI:21:SaHiMa:90, Bangalore, dt (b) SiAaSuI:08:SaHiMa:95, Bangalore, dt (c) SiAaSuI: 42:SeNeNi:2001, Bangalore, dt (d) SiAaSuI:97:SeNeNi:2002, Bangalore, dt (e) DPAR 50 SRR 2000, dt (f) SiAaSuI:107:SeNeNi:2005, dt and as amended from time to time. Further, reservation for persons belonging to Hyderabad-Karnataka Region is provided as per GOK notification dated As per the stipulations in the Government Order SiAaSuI:08:SaHiMa:95, Bangalore, dt , in case of non-availability of eligible candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes viz., Cat.I, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B the posts earmarked for the said categories shall be filled-up by candidates belonging to General Merit and the unfilled roster shall be carried forward in the future advertisements. 19. Candidates claiming reservation under Rural Category quota should enclose the certificate of study in rural areas (for 10 full academic years from 1 st to 10 th standards) issued by the competent authorities. 20. Candidates claiming reservation under Kannada Medium Quota should enclose the certificate of study in Kannada medium (for 10 full academic years from 1 st to 10 th standards) issued by the competent authorities. 21. Further, in case of non-availability of candidates belonging to special categories under horizontal reservation such as Rural, Women, Kannada Medium & Exservicemen categories, the posts earmarked for the said categories shall be filled-up by other candidates belonging to the respective reservations as per the provisions of the Government Order SiAaSuI:08:SaHiMa:95, Bangalore, dt The applicants those belonging to General Category & Cat.2A/2B/3A/3B, who claim reservation under Rural candidate quota, have to produce a certificate issued by the competent authority confirming that they do not come under the purview of creamy

9 layer in the prescribed form, while submitting the application form, as per the Government Circular SaKaI:26:BiCiA:2002, dt Ex-servicemen or children of defence personnel killed or disabled in action are exempted from payment of application fee provided they furnish appropriate certificate along with the filled-in applications. 24. Knowledge of reading and writing Kannada is essential for the posts of Assistant Professor & persons with working knowledge of Kannada will be preferred. 25. The candidates who have studied under Trimester System and other than 10 point grading system are required to produce the equivalent percentage certificates obtained from the respective University. 26. Working hours of the University : 9.00 am to 5.00 pm (Saturday : 9.00 am to 1.00 pm) 27. The minimum and maximum age limit prescribed for the posts of Technical Assistants / Programme Assistants / Farm Managers and Service Personnel is 18 years and 40 years, respectively, as on the last date prescribed for receipt of filled in applications. 28. Applications must be accompanied by attested copies of Marks Sheets, Certificates, Experience Certificates, Publications, Research Notes, Certificates of Awards/Medals, Certificates related to past service etc. and the details of research or related publication, if any, in support of eligibility. 29. Candidates already in service (Government/Quasi Government or private) should submit their applications through proper channel. Candidates anticipating delay in sending their applications through proper channel, may submit a advance copy of the application along with the processing fee. The original application duly forwarded by the parent office must reach this office within a fortnight after the last date prescribed for submission of filled in applications. Such of the candidates who do not forward their applications through the parent office have to produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of interview, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for the interview. 13. All communications, in respect of applications for recruitment against the posts advertised by the University, should be addressed to the Registrar, University of Agricultural Sciences, Krishinagar, Dharwad (Karnataka). 30. The vacancies and roster now notified are provisional and are subject to variations. The University reserves the right to fill-in any or all the vacancies. 31. The processing fee shall not be reimbursed in any case. 32. The candidates applying for the posts of Assistant Professor should not be above 45 years as on the last date prescribed for receipt of filled in applications. 33. For all recruitments to the posts in the University, other things being equal, the University employees shall be given preference.

Applications received after the last date and incomplete applications will be rejected. 36. Furnishing any false information in the application form shall hold the candidate liable to action deemed fit. 37. In no case shall the processing fee be reimbursed. 38. Only candidates short listed based on the merit in the qualifying examination/(s) & prescribed roster for each particular post will be called for interview at their own cost. 39. No recommendations should be forwarded to the University. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidature. 40.
