2 INSTRUCTIONS The Public Schools of Edison Township s Science and Engineering Academy is an outstanding opportunity for students who are interested in the fields of mathematics, science and engineering. Only students who meet all eligibility criteria will be considered for the Academy. Eligibility Criteria Edison resident Honor Roll level achievement in all coursework 8 th grade Honors Geometry Self-motivated and independent worker Please refer to the following instructions for completion of the application: 1. Both parent and student must sign the application. 2. Instructions on completing the recommendation form must be given to each of three (3) teachers including current Math and Science teachers. The third teacher recommendation is of student s choice. Teachers will submit the completed recommendation electronically. 3. The required essay should be typed and attached to the application. It must include student name, ID# and be signed by the student. 4. Application must be given to the middle school guidance counselor by December 12, They will forward all applications to Edison High School. 5. The application is not considered complete until the student takes the Entrance Exam on December 20, Prospective students may be contacted for an interview. Acceptance into the Academy is a four year commitment and I must maintain the academic standards and requirements of the program. I waive my rights to access any recommendation submitted by me or on my behalf. I will be taking the required Entrance Exam on December 20, 2014 at Edison High School.
