4 The Admission Process Stage 1: Aptitude Test: Sub Sections Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation Ability (QA DI) Logical Reasoning Ability (LR) The Aptitude Test Main Areas and Sub Sections General Awareness Ability(GA) Language Comprehension Ability (LC) Exam Patterns The CMAT has 100 Questions with a total of 400 Marks and has to be attempted within 180 Minutes (3 hrs). The Detailed Exam Structure with Marking System is as follows: Stage 2: The Personality Test: Sub Sections Quantitative Aptitude Data Interpretation: Logical Reasoning: Language Comprehension: General Awareness: Group Discussion Skills Evaluated Clarity of Thought Group Behaviour Academic Understanding Leadership Communication Awareness Fitment Personal Interview Some Institutes also evaluate on the basis of Presentation, Extempore, Group Activity or Group Exercise. It is important to note this that it is a Multiple Choice Questions Test and awards +4 marks for every correct response and deducts -1 for every wrong response. One can also skip and move around to any section / question during the test and there are no sectional timings and all 100 questions are in the above mentioned order. Further, the awarded score will be used by various Management (MBA) Institutes for their respective admission processes which will include the Group Discussion and Personal Interview. And in case of IT (MCA) Institutes, the awarded score will be considered during the Institute Selection and Counselling Session which is the final admission process.
