No.:- ( ) (O) (R) FAX No.:- ( ) dforrp@ Gmail.com Applications in the prescribed format are invited from the candidates for appearing the recruitment test for drawing up a Select List of candidates for appointment in the posts of Forester and Forest Guard under Deputation Reserve of Special Tiger Protection Force, Similipal Tiger Reserve on regular basis under direct recruitment quota in accordance with Odisha Sub-Ordinate Forest Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Forest Guards and Foresters) Rules, Post: Forester in Scale of Pay of Rs. 5200/- to 20200/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 2000/- per month Forest Guard in Scale of Pay of Rs. 5200/- to 20200/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 1800/- per month Eligibility: 1. He/ she shall be a citizen of India. 2. He/she shall be able to speak, read and write Odia fluently and must have passed an examination in Odia language in M.E. school standard. 3. He/she shall have a good character. 4. He/she must have passed A. Forester: +2 Science pass from a recognised Board/Institution B. Forest Guard: 10+ (HSC) pass from a recognised Board 5. He/she must have registered his/her name in any Employment Exchange in Mayurbhanj District before submission of application. Age limit (As on ):-For the post of Forester years and for the post of Forest Guard years, as per provision laid down in the OFD Code and Odisha Civil Services Rules Relaxation of age: 1. The upper age limit will be relaxable by 5 (five) years in case of Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Women and Socially and Educationally Backward class candidates. 2. The period of continuous service in Armed Forces of the Union (not less than six months) shall be deducted from the actual age to determine the upper age. Reservation: The Orissa Reservation of Vacancies in Posts and Services (For Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes) Act, 1975 and Rules made there under and orders regarding reservation of posts in services for sports persons, Socially and Educationally Backward Classes, Ex-Service personnel and Women respectively shall be applicable to the service. Provided that, no physically handicapped candidate shall be eligible to be appointed to the service. 3 Physical Standard: 1. The minimum physical standard shall be as follows for different category. Category of candidates Minimum height in Minimum chest in cm cm Unexpanded Expanded General & SC Scheduled Tribes Women The candidates of all categories shall be examined by the Chief District Medical Officer to testify that they possess sound health and general physical fitness for outdoor work in Forest Department. 3. The candidates must be of sound health, good physique and active habits and be free from any organic defect or bodily infirmity. How to apply: 1. Eligible candidates shall apply to the Divisional Forest Officer, Rairangpur Dist- Mayurbhanj in the prescribed application form on or before 23 rd November, 2013 during working hours either by registered post or by hand. The application must be correctly filled in and complete in all respect. Incomplete applications and applications incorrectly filled in shall be rejected. Applications received after 23 rd November, 2013 shall not be entertained. The authority shall not be responsible for any postal delay. 2. The application shall be submitted along with attested photocopies of the following documents positively. If copy of one of the following documents is not enclosed in the application, then it will be treated as incomplete and liable to be rejected. a. Copy of +2 Science Examination Certificate (in case of application for the post of Forester) duly attested by an Officer not below the rank of Group-B. b. Copy of mark sheet of +2 Science Examination (in case of application for the post of Forester) duly attested by an Officer not below the rank of Group-B. c. Copy of HSC (10+) Examination Certificate duly attested by an Officer not below the rank of Group-B. d. Copy of mark sheet of 10+ Examination (in case of application for the post of Forest Guard) duly attested by an Officer not below the rank of Group-B. e. Two Passport size photographs duly attested by an Officer not below the rank of Group-B and signed by the candidate in ink on the front. f. Copy of Caste Certificate issued by competent authority having jurisdiction over the permanent place of residence of the candidate in case of SC/ST/SEBC candidates duly attested by an Officer not below the rank of Group-B. g. Copy of valid Employment Exchange Registration Card duly attested by an Officer not below the rank of Group-B. h. Copy of Sports/athletic Certificate(s) showing representation in inter-school meet/ representing the Circle or District in school meet/ representing the District in Junior or Senior inter-district meet/ representing the State in Junior or Senior National meet/ representing Nation in international meet and winning medals in any of the above meets, duly attested by an Officer not below the rank of Group-B. i. Copy of the required certificate duly attested by an Officer not below the rank of Group-B, if claiming reservation of posts in services for Sportsperson. j. Copy of certificate from District Sainik Board in case of Ex-serviceman candidate, duly attested by an Officer not below the rank of Group-B. k. Five self-attested and stamped (Rs. 25/-) envelope of size 22 cm x 10 cm of brown colour. l. Copy of character certificate issued by an Officer not below the rank of Group-B of the State Government. Issue of Admit Card for written test: Admit Cards for the written test shall be issued indicating the date, time and venue, to those eligible candidates whose applications are correct and complete in all respect. The list of eligible candidates asked to appear in the written test will also be displayed on the notice board of this Office. The eligible candidates who do not receive admit card two days prior to the date of written test may contact the undersigned in person.

4 Written Test: Written test will be conducted on 22 nd December, 2013 in two subjects i.e, Odia Language and Mathematics of matric standard for Foresters and Class IX standard for Forest Guards. Each paper will be of one hour duration. Each paper will carry 20 marks in case of Foresters and 25 marks in case of Forest Guard. If any candidate resorts to unfair means and impersonation during written test, his/ her candidature for the entire process of selection shall be cancelled and he/ she shall be debarred from appearing in future examinations. The names of candidates who qualify in the written test, shall be displayed on the notice board of the Office. Verification of original certificates: The candidates who qualify for the written test, shall be intimated to attend this Office for verification of original certificates. Any candidate found possessing invalid/ forged certificate shall be treated as disqualified and shall not be allowed to undergo subsequent test, i.e, physical standard test. Measurement of Physical Standard: The eligible candidate who qualify in the written test and whose original certificates are found to be genuine on verification, shall undergo Physical Standard test i.e, measurement of height (for both male and female candidates) and chest (only for male candidates). The exact date, time and venue for the purpose shall be intimated to the candidates and the same shall also be displayed on the notice board of the Office. The names of the candidates who qualify in the Physical Standard test shall be announced and displayed on the notice board of the Office. Those candidate who qualify in the physical standard test shall only be allowed to undergo the subsequent test i.e, cycling test. Cycling Test: In cycling test, the male candidates are required to cover 1.6 km in 3 (three) to 5 (five) minutes and female candidates are required to cover 1.6 km in 8 (eight) to 10 (ten) minutes. Candidates covering the distance in the minimum time prescribed shall be entitled to additional marks as per rules. The exact date, time and venue for the purpose shall be intimated to the candidate and shall also be displayed in the notice board of the Office. Those candidates who qualify in cycling test shall only be allowed to undergo subsequent test, i.e, walking test. Walking Test: In walking test male candidates are required to cover 25 (twenty five) kms. and the female candidates are required to cover 16 (sixteen) kms in 4 (four) hours.. Candidates covering the distance in the minimum time prescribed shall be entitled to additional marks as per rules. The exact date, time and venue for the purpose shall be intimated to the candidate and shall also be displayed in the notice board of the Office. Those candidates who qualify in walking test shall only be allowed to undergo subsequent test, i.e, medical test. Medical Test: The eligible candidates who qualify in the above mentioned tests shall be examined by the Chief District Medical Officer to testify that they possess sound health and general physical fitness for outdoor work in Forest Department. The concerned candidates shall be intimated about the exact date, time and venue for the purpose by the appointing authority depending on the programme intimated by the CDMO. The names of the candidates, who qualify in the medical test shall be announced for appearing in viva voce. Viva Voce: The eligible candidate who qualify in all the above tests shall appear in the viva voce to be conducted by the Selection Board. The concerned candidates shall be intimated about the exact date, time and venue for the purpose. Select List: The Select List of successful candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be prepared from the merit list prepared by the Selection Board on the basis of total marks secured by the candidates in all the above mentioned tests.
