1 JoLIE 11:1/2018 NOTES ON CONTRIBUTORS AZAMAT AKBAROV Professor Ph.D. Busan University of Foreign Studies, Busan, South Korea address: Azamat Akbarov holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics. He is Full Professor in Applied Linguistics at Kazakh National University in Almaty, Kazakhstan. His extensive experience includes both general English and several areas of Applied Linguistics, and he has published widely in these areas. He also has cross-linguistic expertise, having worked in French, Turkish, Russian, Korean, Bosnian, Kazakh and Uzbek as well as English, and understands the practical issues involved in teaching and learning different languages and transferring research ideas from one language to another. He is the Chairman of the International Conference of Foreign Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics (FLTAL), President of the Association for Applied Linguistics in Kazakhstan (AALK), Editor-in-Chief of J- FLTAL journal. He is the current member of American Association for Applied Linguistics (AAAL), The International Association of Applied Linguistics (AILA) and The International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL). Mona Arhire is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Letters and the head of the Research Centre for Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, at Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania. She graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures (Arabic-English department) of the University of Bucharest in 1992, and earned her PhD in Philology from Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu in Her teaching and research activities fall within the scope of Translation Studies, Corpus-based Translation Studies, Corpus Linguistics, Contrastive Studies and Intercultural Communication. She has published books and book chapters with national and international publishing houses, as well as articles in reputed journals. HAKAN AYDOĞAN Ph.D., Independent Researcher, Turkey address: aydoganh@hotmail.com Dr. Hakan Aydoğan taught English as a foreign language in Turkish State universities and Europe. His BA, MAs and PhD are in English language teaching. The main interest of his scientific studies are TESOL, EFL and methodology of EFL. CRISTINA BURTEA-CIOROIANU Senior Lecturer Ph.D. University of Craiova, Romania address: cris_mitrica@yahoo.com Cristina-Eugenia Burtea-Cioroianu is a Senior Lecturer PhD at the Department of Applied Modern Languages of the University of Craiova, with a 19-year old academic background, a specialist in Romanian language and literature, Latin language and literature and legal language. She is a graduate of two faculties, the Faculty of Letters and the Faculty of Law, then a Master in "Modern Governance and Local Development" and owner of a cum laude doctor s degree; single author of 5 books published in the country and abroad and two works as the first author, as well as of about 49 articles in the country and abroad. Member of the editorial staff of SYMBOLON journal having as coordinators: Professor PhD Jean-Jacques Wunenburger, Professor PhD Ionel Buşe, Editions Universitaires de Lyon III. She is a member of several societies and university associations, as well as a member of the organising committee and keynote speaker at several international conferences. She brought a significant contribution to the encyclopaedia La vie de l auteurs de lʼeurope du centre-est depuis 1945, a project in progress since January 2017, in collaboration with the Institute of France, Foundation Simone et Cino Del Duca. Her current areas of research include:

Her research interests are English and Romanian grammar and linguistics, specialized translation and cultural studies. ADINA-IRINA FORNA Assistant Professor, Ph.D. Cluj-Napoca Technical University, Romania address: adina.forna@lang.utcluj.ro Adina-Irina Forna is a member of the Department of Modern Languages and Communication at the Cluj-Napoca Technical University, Romania. She is teaching French for Specific Purposes for several specializations (architecture, mechanical engineering, computer science, etc.). She is a member of the team of Centre d Études des Lettres Belges de Langue Française, affiliated with Babeș- Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca. After defending her doctoral thesis in British Cultural Studies in 2010, she has focused on topics related to Communication, Culture and Civilisation, because she intends to publish a book and several articles dedicated to these fields of knowledge. The results of her research up to this moment are presented in the articles she has submitted for publication. 5 Notes on contributors 161 Lendita Kryeziu, born 1972, is a PhD student of Linguistics at the University of Prishtina, where she received her MA degree in She has been working as a lecturer at the same university since 2011 where she instructed her students in different fields of English linguistics. Her research interests include applied linguistics, language acquisition, sociolinguistics, idiomatics and second language teaching. She has published several articles in her field of interest and participated in very important conferences in the local, regional and international level. She is currently writing her dissertation on TED talks as means of improving listening and speaking skills in teaching English and corpus analysis. LINDITA SEJDIU RUGOVA Associate Professor in Linguistics and English Language, Ph.D. University of Prishtina, Faculty of Philology Address: George Bush st, nn, Prishtina, Kosovo address: lindita.rugova@uni-pr.edu Dr. Lindita Sejdiu Rugova, born 1975, studied English language and Literature at the University of Prishtina, Kosovo, and received her magisterium and Ph.D. Thesis in the field of Linguistics, with a specialization in contrastive syntax and text grammar studies between English and Albanian, in Prishtina. She is a co-author of the textbook Introduction to Text studies in Albanian and has published a series of articles on Albanian Morpho-syntax and on Albanian Text studies in general. She has been involved in many academic research projects on English language teaching as well on teaching Albanian as a second or foreign language. She has participated as a visiting lecturer in many European universities programmes, such as: Naples, Venice, Prague, Copenhagen, Berlin, and has been one of the first Albanian scholars that have introduced contemporary syntactic analyses and text grammar studies in Albanian.
