1 As per the Indian Medical Council Act-1956 as amended in 2016 and the Dentists Act-1948 as amended in 2016, online applications are invited for NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) 2017 (NEET-UG-2017) to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in India in Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament i.e. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry. Admissions to all seats of MBBS/BDS courses will be done through NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG), The seats are classified in the following categories: (i) All India Quota Seats (ii) State Government Quota Seats (iii) State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical / Dental Colleges or any Private/ Deemed University (iv) Central Pool Quota Seats REQUIREMENT OF AADHAAR NUMBER For Indian citizens and ordinary residents of India, Aadhaar Number is a requirement to fill up the online application of NEET-2017 in all States except J&K, Assam and Meghalaya. For NRIs, Passport Number is the mandatory requirement for filling up of the online application of NEET For Foreign Nationals, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI s), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO s), Passport Number is the mandatory requirement for filling up of the online application of NEET At the time of filling application form of NEET 2017, the candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender and hereby give their consent to CBSE to validate the information provided by them with the UIDAI s database. In case, these particulars do not match, the candidate will not be able to fill the application form of NEET Therefore, the candidates are advised to ensure that their AADHAAR card has correct details of their name, date of birth & gender as per school records. If there is some mismatch in these details, the candidates should immediately get it corrected in AADHAAR data or school records, as the case may be. Regarding requirement of AADHAAR a separate PUBLIC NOTICE is being published and also hosted on website. Candidates may follow the instructions given therein. PATTERN OF TEST Date of Test : 7 th May, 2017 (Sunday) The NEET (UG) shall consist of one paper containing 180 objective SCHEDULE AND FEE DETAILS type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Schedule for on-line (Tuesday) to Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). The duration of paper submission (Wednesday) would be 03 hours from a.m. to p.m. of application forms (Till midnight) ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Last date for successful (Wednesday) (i) Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRI s), Overseas Citizen final transaction of fee (Till midnight) of India (OCI s), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO s) & Foreign Nationals are eligible for appearing in the NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY FEE DETAILS FOR GENERAL/OBC FOR SC/ST/PH CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG), Rs.1400/- (INR) Rs.750/- (INR) (ii) The candidate must have completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31 st December, 2017 i.e. the year of his/her admission to the 1 st year M.B.B.S./B.D.S. Course. (iii) The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission in MBBS/BDS seats shall be 25 years as on the date of examination with a relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category. For Candidates of Unreserved Category (UR) born on or between and For Candidates of born on or between SC/ST/OBC Category and (iv) The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) shall be limited to 3 (Three) uniformly for all the candidates. (v) The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Bio-technology at the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General candidates. Further, for persons for locomotor disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required. Those who are appearing in Class XII examination in 2017 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later. HOW TO APPLY Candidates can apply ONLY ONLINE. Net Banking/UPIor c. e-wallets of different service provider RESERVATION OF SEATS & ADMISSION IN MEDICAL/DENTAL COLLEGES 1. An All India merit list and All India Rank of the qualified candidates shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the National Eligibility-cum Entrance Test and candidates shall be admitted to MBBS/BDS courses from the said list only by following the Existing Reservation Policies. 2. All admission to MBBS/BDS courses within in the respective categories shall be based solely on marks obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test. 3. All other existing eligibility criteria for admission to Medical/Dental Colleges shall be applicable as per Rules and Policies of the State/UT/Institution/University concerned. COUNSELLING DETAILS 1. CBSE will provide All India Rank. Result will be given to DGHS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India to provide the same to admitting authorities. 2. Admitting authorities will invite applications for counselling and merit list shall be drawn based on All India Rank by the admitting authorities subject to their applicable rules. 2 CBSE/NEET/ /01/2017 Public Notice Requirement of Aadhaar for the Applicants of NEET As per regulations framed under the Indian Medical Council Act-1956 as amended in 2016 and the Dentists Act-1948 as amended in 2016, CBSE will conduct National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test-UG, 2017 for the admission in MBBS/BDS Courses in India in Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament i.e. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry. It has been decided that candidates, who are Indian Citizens and ordinary residents of India, will register in NEET-2017 using Aadhaar. In this regard, following is communicated to all concerned: 1. The use of Aadhaar for the applicants of NEET will result in accuracy of the applicants details. This will also help in ascertaining identity of the applicants at the examination centres in a convenient and hassle free manner. Aadhaar obviates the need for producing multiple documents to prove one s identity. 2. The provisions of the Aadhaar Act and Regulations under the Act have come into effect from 14 th September 2016 and notifications to this effect have been published in the Official Gazette. Section 57 of the Aadhaar Act 2016 permits the use of Aadhaar number for establishing the identity of an individual for any purpose pursuant to any law or any contract to this effect. 3. Accordingly, CBSE has decided to use Aadhaar for the applicants of NEET- 2017, and hereby notifies the following: 3.1 Applicants who are in possession of Aadhaar, shall enter Aadhaar number, name, date of birth & gender in online application for NEET-2017 for the purpose of his/her identity and authentication thereof. 3.2 Applicants not yet enrolled for Aadhaar, are hereby required to make application for Aadhaar enrolment in case he/she is entitled to obtain Aadhaar as per section 3 of Aadhaar Act. Such applicant may visit any Aadhaar enrolment center (list available at to get enrolled for Aadhaar.

3 3.3 In order to facilitate such applicants who are not having Aadhaar, the CBSE has specially set up facilitation centres in each city of examination for the purpose of Aadhaar enrolment. The applicants can approach such facilitation centres who will not charge any amount from any applicant for Aadhaar enrolment. The list of the facilitation centre is available on These applicants who have enrolled for Aadhaar and have not received Aadhaar should enter 28 digit Aadhaar Enrolment ID printed on the Aadhaar enrolment slip at the time of filling online application form for NEET In case Aadhaar enrolment facility is not available at the facilitation centres, the applicants should submit a request for Aadhaar enrolment. The facilitation centre will issue a registration number to such applicants. What to do in following cases: a) Candidate is of reserved category, mentioned as General and paid higher fee b) Candidate is of general category, mentioned as reserved and paid less fee. a) When option to correct category will be given by the CBSE, such candidates can correct their category from General Category to Reserved Category. b) Such candidates will also correct their category as per details given (a) above. They also need to pay difference of fee to the CBSE through online process.

6 No.CBSE/NEET/2017 Date: PUBLIC NOTICE FOR THE CANDIDATES OF J&K, ANDHRA PRADESH &TELANGANA It has been reported to the CBSE that some candidates belonging to the State of J&K have submitted the Self Declaration by mistake while filling the ONLINE application form of NEET-2017 to the fact that they are not eligible for MBBS/BDS seats in their State. Following is brought to the notice of such candidates: 1. J&K, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana states have opted out from 15% All India Quota seats. Accordingly, candidates of these States are not eligible for All India Quota seats. 2. There are following two kind of candidates submitting NEET application form from these States: a. Candidates originally from these States who are eligible for 100% seats of their States. These candidates are not required to fill the Self Declaration. b. The candidates who are not from these states but residing there because of the posting of their parents, etc. These candidates are not eligible for the seats of J&K, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. These candidates are required to fill the Self Declaration. 3. Candidates at S.No.2(a) those have wrongly submitted the undertaking are being informed that in no case their candidature for 100% seats of their State is going to be affected. They are eligible even after submission of Self Declaration for seats of their state subject to the applicable rules of their State. 4. The candidates filling up the application forms are advised to adhere to the following instructions: a. When selecting State of Eligibility (For 15% All India Quota) in online application, they will select the name of their State, i.e., J&K or Andhra Pradesh or Telangana. b. The next window will be Self-Declaration upload as per rule. The candidates of these States {Sr.No.2(a) above} will select NO. c. This will take them to normal submission of application where they need not to fill the undertaking. 5.
