The Selection and Waiting Lists given below are provisional and are subject to: II. III. For any provisionally selected candidate, increase in marks due to post-publication review/scrutiny after the closing dates of application ( ) for admissions to M.A (Day & Evening) Courses for the academic session , shall NOT be considered, and his/her merit position shall NOT be changed. SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PD quota as per rules. V. No separate intimation will be sent to individual candidate. VI. Candidates are to take admission in one course of study only, even if their names appear in more than one course. VII. Candidates who have appeared at the B.A/B.Sc. (Honours) or equivalent final examination, results of which have not yet been published, may be given provisional admission, subject to the following conditions: at the time of counselling/admission the provisionally selected candidates will have to produce a certificate in the prescribed format (click here) that their B.A/ B.Sc Final Examination has been completed on or before June 7, 2016; such candidates will be required to submit the mark-sheet within 15 th September 2016, failing of which their provisional admission will be cancelled. As per circular Nos. BC-16014/1/82-SC dt.06/08/1984 & BCD-1, D.O.12017/11/89- SCD(R.CELL) dt.09/01/1990 and letter No.1510-SCW dt.31/05/2007 from the Government of West Bengal, Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes of the states other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in educational institutions in West Bengal, unless they can produce a domicile certificate of 10-year residency issued by competent authority. 2. Persons with 40% or more disability will only be considered for admission under PD category under PWD (Equal Opportunity, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, The candidates who will be provisionally selected under the OBC- A and OBC- B categories must produce an OBC certificate (the date of issue of the certificate should not be earlier than June 2015) issued by the competent authority that clearly indicates (i) the category (A or B) they belong to; (ii) that they do not belong to creamy layer of the society, at the time of counselling/ admission. 4. OBC-A and OBC-B candidates of the states other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in educational institutions in West Bengal, unless they can produce a domicile certificate of 10-year residency issued by competent authority. VIII.Candidates will be required to bring the following at the time of counselling & admission: A print out of the on-line application. 3 (three) recent passport size photographs. Pay-in Slip duly authenticated by the bank. All original marksheets, certificates including SC/ST/PD/OBC-A/OBC-B certificates from competent authorities in the names of the candidates themselves, where applicable, are to be shown at the time of interview for verification. 3 Attested copies of all mark-sheets, certificates, madhyamik admit card/certificate are to be submitted at the time of admission. a certificate in the prescribed format (click here) that their B.A/ B.Sc Final Examination has been completed on or before June 7, 2016 If the provisionally selected candidate has completed his/her graduation in 2015 or before: An affidavit that he/she is not registered in any other day-course anywhere/elsewhere (click here) If the provisionally selected candidate is pursuing an MA day-course or its equivalent in another college/university: an affidavit that s/he will be deregistering from that day-course (click here) Parents/guardian's income certificate issued by the employer with office seal for the employed person and for others by a gazetted officer. IX. Date and time of counselling and admission of provisionally selected candidates: on June 14, 2016 at 11:00am. Venue: Prof. Anita Banerjee Memorial Hall (Ground Floor, U.G. Arts Building), Jadavpur University (Main Campus). X. If a candidate fails to appear on the specified date and time for counselling, the next candidate in order of merit will be considered for admission. The candidate absent on June 14, 2016, will also NOT be considered for admission against vacancy (if any) at a later date. XI. At the time of counselling/admission, all provisionally selected candidates who have completed their graduation in 2015 or before must submit an affidavit that they are not registered in any other day course anywhere/elsewhere, failing of which he/she will not be admitted. XII. If a provisionally selected candidate is already admitted to any other college/university and is pursuing an MA day-course or its equivalent there, s/he will be required to submit an affidavit (at the time of counselling/admission at Jadavpur University) that s/he will be de-registering from that course. Proof of application of deregistration/cancellation from the course concerned must be submitted within June 24, 2016, failing of which her/his admission will be cancelled. Subsequently, cancellation/migration certificate from the institution concerned should be submitted preferably within 30 th October, XIII.The waitlisted candidates must report at 2pm on 14/6/2016 at Prof. Anita Banerjee Memorial Hall (Ground Floor, U.G. Arts Building), Jadavpur University (Main Campus). The vacant seats, if any, will be filled up in order of merit from amongst the waitlisted candidates. Their names will be called at 2:30pm. If any candidate fails to turn up the seat will be offered to the next candidate in the list. They will also be required to produce all original mark sheets and certificates. The process will continue till the vacant seats are filled up. The rest of the candidates are advised to record their attendance on 14/6/2016 at 4:00 pm at the Office of the Dean and Secretary, Faculty Council of Arts (Ground Floor, U.G. Arts Building). XIV. The candidates admitted to M.A.(Day) in Sanskrit course should have at least 50% attendance of total classes held during , failing which his/her studentship will be treated as cancelled without further reference. XVI. Vacancies, if any, along with names of waitlisted candidates will be notified on the website on after 6.00 pm. Only those waitlisted candidates who were present at the time of counseling on June 14, 2016 and recorded their attendances at the Office of the Dean and Secretary, Faculty Council of Arts on the same day will be considered for admission against vacancy, if any. XVII. Counselling/Admission against vacancies, if any, shall be done on at 11 am in order of merit from amongst the waitlisted candidates published on XVIII. ADMISSION WILL BE CLOSED AFTER Jadavpur University has accepted in principle that each and every student of the university shall be duty bound during the entire period of studentship with the university to immediately report to the Dean of Students if any ragging is noticed either in university hostel or on university campus. If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him/her from the university. Details of on-line submission of anti-ragging affidavit shall be made available by the Head, Department of Sanskrit, at the time of counselling. Print out of the anti-ragging affidavit submitted on-line by the student and his/her parents must be submitted to the Head, Department of Sanskrit within 15 (fifteen) days from the commencement of classes (i.e., July 15, 2016). The selection will be made in accordance with provisional merit order of the eligible applicants based on 50% weightage on the academic performance (as per the selection criteria of the concerned department as mentioned earlier) and 50% weightage on the percentage of disability in the 40%-100% scale. 4.
