An applicant shall not be considered for admission, even if he/she is provisionally selected for admission if at the time of counselling/admission and verification of marks, it is found by the university authority that s/he does not satisfy the eligibility criteria,. s/he does NOT have completed results at Bachelors (Honours) level and have NOT passed in all papers. s/he has appeared in M.A/M.Sc 4th semester (second year second semester) examination 2018 but has NOT secured at least 40% marks in each course and at least 50% (40% for SC/ST and 45% for PD) marks in the aggregate of all marks obtained in 1st, 2nd and 3rd semester examinations. If an applicant is found to have entered incorrect marks in his/her on-line application form, his/her rank position in the selection/merit list provided below shall be revised and corrected accordingly on the basis of actual marks obtained in the examination concerned. The current students who have appeared in M.A/M.Sc 4th semester (second year second semester) Examination 2018 must submit their completed results within October 30, 2018, failing of which their provisional admission will be cancelled. At the time of counselling/ admission the student (if provisionally selected) must submit a proof of completion of M.A/ M.Sc Final Examination, 2018 authenticated by the appropriate authority of his/her college/ institute/ university in prescribed format (click here). After publication of final results, if any such student is not declared to have passed securing at least the minimum percentage of marks as mentioned above in the aggregate of all marks obtained all semester examinations, his/her admission shall stand cancelled. His/her provisional admission will be cancelled even if he/she is declared eligible for Special Supplementary Examination 2018 or any such Examinations as per the Examination Rules of the University concerned. A student who is in the final year M.Phil programme, if applicable, must have passed all written/qualifying examinations and must submit at the time of counselling a proof of completion of viva-voce examination on his/her M.Phil dissertations and that s/he has been recommended for the award of the M.Phil Degree. A student who is a registered scholar for Ph.D in this university or any other university is not eligible for admission to the B.Ed course.

2 Candidates who have already been admitted to any autonomous college/institution or college/institution affiliated to other universities and pursuing any regular day course at present, shall be required to submit an affidavit (at the time of counselling/admission) that s/he will be de-registering from that course. Proof of application of de-registration/cancellation from the course concerned must be submitted within October 12, 2018, failing of which her/his admission will be cancelled. Subsequently, cancellation/migration certificate from the institution concerned should be submitted. Candidates who have completed their highest degree in 2017 or before but have NOT taken admission in any regular day course, must submit an affidavit (on a Non-Judicial Stamp Paper) at the time of counselling/admission that they are not registered in any other regular day course anywhere/elsewhere, failing of which her/his admission will be cancelled. Even if a student s marks in any particular examination at any level increases after review of his/her result for that examination by the concerned college/institute/university after the last date of submission of online application, such additional marks shall not be considered hereafter and at the time of counselling/admission and his/her rank position in the provisional merit list published below shall remain unchanged. SC/ST/PD quota as per Sate Govt. rules. No separate intimation will be sent to individual candidate. All admissions are provisional. Candidates will be required to bring the following at the time of counselling & admission: A print out of the on-line application. 3 (three) recent passport size photographs. Online payment receipt. All original marksheets, certificates including SC/ST/PD certificates from competent authorities in the names of the candidates themselves, where applicable, are to be shown at the time of interview for verification. The original madhyamik admit card/certificate (for age verification). Attested copies of all marksheets, certificates, madhyamik admit card/ certificate are to be submitted at the time of admission. Parents/guardian's income certificate issued by the employer with office seal for the employed person and for others by a gazetted officer. If the provisionally selected candidate has completed his/her highest degree (BA/B.Sc/M.A./M.Sc/M.Phil, whichever is applicable) in 2017 or before: An affidavit (in non-judicial stamp paper) that he/she is not registered in any other day-course anywhere/elsewhere If the provisionally selected candidate is pursuing any regular day course in another college/university: an affidavit (in non-judicial stamp paper) that s/he

3 will be de-registering from that day-course Dates of Counselling: 29/10/2018 at am at Prof. Anita Banerjee Memorial Hall (Ground Floor, U.G. Arts Building), Jadavpur University. If a candidate fails to appear on the specified date and during the specified time for counselling, the next candidate in order of merit will be considered for admission. The candidate absent on 29/10/2018, will also NOT be considered for admission against vacancy (if at all) at a later date. As per circular Nos. BC-16014/1/82-SC dt.06/08/1984 & BCD-1, D.O.12017/11/89- SCD(R.CELL) dt.09/01/1990 and letter No.1510-SCW dt.31/05/2007 from the Government of West Bengal, Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes of the states other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in educational institutions in West Bengal unless they can produce Domicile Certificate for residing in West Bengal for at least 10 years issued by the competent authority. Jadavpur University has accepted in principle that each and every student of the university shall be duty bound during the entire period of studentship with the university to immediately report to the Dean of Students if any ragging is noticed either in university hostel or on university campus. If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him/her from the university. Details of on-line submission of anti-ragging affidavit shall be made available by the Head, Department of Education, at the time of counselling. Print out of the anti-ragging affidavit submitted on-line by the student and his/her parents must be submitted to the Head, Department of Education within 15 (fifteen) days from the commencement of classes.
