No. Date RULES, REGULATIONS & MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION TO FIRST YEAR B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com. HONOURS and GENERAL COURSES FOR THE SESSION I. Application is to be filled up and submitted online only. The application fee of Rs. 200 /- has II. III. IV. to be paid online or offline at any branch of State Bank of India within two (2) days from the date of submission of online application otherwise the application will be cancelled. Online application will start on and from (for both Merit list and direct admission). Last date of submission of online application is (applicable for all B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. Honours courses and B.Com General Course) Students seeking admission to B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. (Honours) & B.Com. (General) Courses will be admitted strictly on the basis of Merit only. All the merit lists will be published on 16 th June, Admission on the basis of merit list will be commence on and from 21 st June, V. There will be directed online admission for B.A. / B.Sc. (General) courses, online registration VI. VII. VIII. IX. and payment of admission fee start from (till fill up all the seats). Online submission of application does not ensure guarantee of admission. The College authority will follow the rules and regulations published in the notification no. CS / 1081 / Adm. (Clr) dated ( of University of Calcutta in the process of admission. All admission will be made on provisional basis subject to the approval of the University of Calcutta. Application forms of candidates who will submit forged / fake certificates or adopt fraudulent means shall be REJECTED. Further, such candidates shall be debarred from applying in any subsequent courses of the college. In such cases online registration fees and admission fees will not be refunded under any circumstances. X. The college authority reserves the right to cancel/refuse admission at any point of time if it is found that: a. Minimum eligibility requirements are not fulfilled. b. False documentation has been done or facts have been suppressed. c. Any other similar valid reason.

2 XI. Marks obtained in Environmental studies as a compulsory subject at the H.S. (10+2) Examination conducted by the West Bengal Council of H.S. Education or its equivalent examination should not be considered for calculating the aggregate marks in top five subjects for the purpose of admission at the degree course of studies under this University (vide Circular no. C.S./1491/07, dt issued by the Secretary, Councils for U.G. Studies, C.U.). If Environmental Science I studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it may be taken in to account for determining aggregate marks. XII. The Applicants from other than WBCHSE, CBSE and ISC boards may apply but at the time of admission they must produce authentication certificate from the board in original, failing which admission will be cancelled. XIII. A candidate can apply for any number of courses for which he/she is eligible. XIV. There is provision of admission under sports quota as norms. The concern candidate must produced necessary certificate from the head of the institution last attended at time of admission. Otherwise the admission will be cancelled. XV. Reservation of seat for SC / ST / A / B / PH will be maintained as per C.U. rules. MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR APPLICATION : a) A candidate must have passed in 5 (five) CU-Recognised subjects of which one shall be English of 100 marks (Compulsory environmental studies paper shall not be considered as one of the five subjects). b) Candidates who have passed (10+2) Examination or its equivalent examination in 2012 and onwards are eligible to seek admission to the first year B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. Courses 2017 provided he or she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100. c) For B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. Courses : A candidate taking up Honours Course in a subject must obtain: (i) A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination (ii) 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. However for SC and ST candidates the requirement is 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. d) For B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. General Courses : Passed (10+2) or equivalent examination securing pass marks in five subjects including English. e) Special conditions for admission to Honours Courses in Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Physiology, Botany and Zoology :

3 B.Com. (Honours in Accounting and Finance): A pass-marks in Mathematics is compulsory for students applying from science stream. Economics: A candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Economics if he/she has passed in Mathematics with the requisite marks at the H.S. Examination (10+2) conducted by West Bengal Council of H.S. Education or its equivalent examination in Mathematics/ Business Mathematics. Students who have passed in Business Economics including Business Math in H.S. (10+2) level from W.B. Council of H.S. Education are also eligible for admission to the Honours Course in Economics. Combination : Mathematics (Compulsory) Physics / Computer Science / Geography / Political Science. Mathematics: A candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Mathematics if he/she has passed in Mathematics with the requisite marks for honours at the previous qualifying examination. However, a candidate who has passed Business Mathematics is not eligible for admission to Mathematics Honours Course. Chemistry: A candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Chemistry if he/she has passed with the requisite marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination Physics: A candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Physics if he/she has passed with the requisite marks in Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination Physiology: A candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Physiology if he/she has obtained requisite marks in the subject Physiology/ Biology/ Bio- technology and Chemistry in the previous qualifying examination. Pass in Physics & Chemistry is must for to take Hons. Botany: The subject Biology/ Biotechnology be treated as related subject. Any two subjects from Physiology, Zoology & Botany. Zoology: The subject Biology/ Biotechnology be treated as related subject. Pass in Chemistry is must for to take Zoology (Hons.). For B.Sc. Honours & B.Sc. General (Pure) Courses Pass in Chemistry is compulsory. For B.Com. General (Accounting and Finance) students coming from Science Stream must pass in Mathematics in the previous qualifying examination. f) Students from agriculture and vocational stream are not eligible except for BA general. However, candidate who has passed HS (10+2) Vocational examination in Business and commerce conducted by WB State Council of Vocational Education and Training shall be eligible to seek admission to the B.Com. General Courses. B. A. Students will not be allowed to take two Science subjects as general subjects. A candidate must provide an authentic Mobile Phone Number otherwise his / her admission will be cancelled. All the future correspondence will be made to be provided Mobile Number. Students must print one (1) copy of the filled up application form which should be produced at the time of admission. The girl students who are enjoying The Kanyashree Scholarship should produced the necessary documents at time of admission. Students with previous registration in C.U. must not apply without University permission. Otherwise admission will be liable to cancellation and money will not be refunded.

First Merit List : 16 th June, Admission Starts : 21 st June, B.A. and B.Sc. (General) candidates will be taken by direct admission till seats are not filled up on First come first serve basis.
