1 WEST BENGALJOINT ENTRANCEEXAMINATIONS BOARD AQ-13/1, SECTOR V, SALTLAKE, KOLKATA Help Desk (Toll Free) PUBDET-2018 (Mop-Up Round) Counselling for admission to UG courses in Presidency University Dates Candidates called for counselling Schedule Registration Venue of Counselling Rules 18 th September 2018, Tuesday All candidates, who have secured a General Merit Rank (GMR) in PUBDET-2018, irrespective of whether they registered for or attended Round-1 or Round-2 of counselling. Subject wise end of Reporting time and date is given in a table below. Candidates not reporting within the stipulated time will not be considered for counselling under any circumstances. All candidates will have to print a copy of the registration form given below and fill in the personal data and paste a recent passport size colour photograph in the space provided. If any new candidate (i.e. not registered in Round-1) is selected for admission, he/she must pay the processing fee of Rs.500 (Rupees five hundred only) in cash. The processing fee is not refundable under any circumstances. Seats will be allotted based on GMR among the candidates, who will report within the stipulated subject wise end of reporting time. The candidate himself/herself must appear for counselling. No other person can appear on behalf of the candidate. Counselling will not be kept held up if any candidate fails to turn up or fails to pay the processing fee or admission fee at the time of admission. In such case, the seat will be immediately allotted to the next deserving candidate. Reporting for counselling session does not guarantee admission. Any candidate trying to furnish counterfeit documents/ testimonials will be immediately handed over to the police. Page: 1/6

2 The candidate will have to choose only one subject of admission. That means once he is admitted to any subject he will not considered for any other alternative subjects. Even after counselling, if it is detected that the candidate has given false statement /data or fake document, the candidature of the candidate shall stand cancelled immediately at the point of time of detection. Any other important information related to aforesaid counselling (if any) will be immediately communicated in the Board s website. Documents: The following documents are to be brought positively by the candidates for physical verification: a) Downloaded Registration Form of PUBDET b) Downloaded Rank Card of PUBDET c) One recent Passport size colour photography d) Original Mark Sheet of Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 Standard) or equivalent examinations. e) Candidates belonging to reserved categories, must carry original caste certificate issued by the Competent Authorities of West Bengal for verification where applicable (caste certificate issued from other state will not be considered). No candidate will be entertained to participate in the counselling without having original documents. Steps: Counselling and admission is not complete unless following six steps are completed by the candidate. In case any candidate does not complete the steps, his admission is not complete. The seat eventually falling vacant will be immediately offered to the next candidate. 1. Reporting (submitting the registration form within the end of reporting time). 2. Verification of category (SC/ST) certificates, if applicable. 3. Verification of academic credentials 4. Payment of processing fee (new candidates only) 5. Payment of admission fee. 6. 3 Important criteria of admission to the Presidency University A. On receiving the provisional admission letter, the candidate must report to the respective HOD in the Presidency University by 19 th September B. Following five affidavits on Non-judicial Stamp paper of Rs.10 or above, duly signed by the candidate and his/her guardians will have to be submitted to the University within 10 days of admission. DECLARATIONBY PARENT/GUARDIAN AGAINSTSEXUAL HARASSMENT d. AFFIDAVITBY THE STUDENT ON ANTI-RAGGING e. AFFIDAVITBY PARENT/GUARDIAN ON ANTI-RAGGING C. Admission of students already admitted to other institutions/ universities shall be treated as provisional. Such students will have to submit the admission cancellation certificate/ transfer certificate from the respective college/university latest within 10 days of admission. D. The admission of the candidates will stand cancelled for a. Those who will not be regularly attending classes and not have an attendance record of 75% in first two (2) weeks from the commencement of classes; b. Found guilty of any breach of Discipline during the above-mentioned period & / or having cases / enquiries under any point of Law pending either from the Institution last attended or elsewhere. c. Non-submission of the statutory documents (declarations/affidavit) within the stipulated time. Admission Fees If selected for admission, Admission fees (stipulated by Presidency University) as mentioned below are to be paid at the counselling venue either through debit card/ credit card or by a Demand Draft drawn in favour of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board payable at Kolkata. It is mandatory to pay the admission related fees at the time of counselling. Page: 3/6
