(from Morley Safer Interview Minutes) WE WANT TO GET THE ARTS COMMUNTY BASELING Featuring: Najee Dorsey Founder of Black Art In America And Special Guests MIAMI, FL November 19, 2012 Black Art in America (BAIA), nonradiomusic Studio-Lab Projects (NRM Studio-Lab Projects) and Harlem Brewing Company (HBC) are combining efforts to promote Art Basel Miami as an arts destination for the African-American arts community. Join us for these premiere events December 4 9, For the first time, the Black Art In America Do You Basel? campaign takes the lead in promoting venues for art enthusiasts to bask in the brilliance of African-American art during the week of Art Basel. In other words, these gatherings are designed to get the arts community 'Baseling.' Having a visible presence in Miami during Art Basel week affords the international arts market a unique way to become familiar with the multitude of artists and depth of thought in the black arts community. Why is this important? We are six years into the 10 year trajectory path predicted by the Bloomberg Businessweek Magazine Report (2006). Astute collectors are trying to familiarize themselves with this burgeoning segment of the arts market.

5 5 The Wolfsonian Florida International University The Wolfsonian is a museum, library, and research center that uses objects to illustrate the persuasive power of art and design, to explore what it means to be modern, and to tell the story of social, historical, and technological changes that have transformed our world. The collections comprise approximately 120,000 objects from the period of 1885 to 1945 the height of the Industrial Revolution to the end of the Second World War in a variety of media including furniture; industrial-design objects; works in glass, ceramics, and metal; rare books; periodicals; ephemera; works on paper; paintings; textiles; and medals.
