CONTRIBUTION TO KNOWLEDGE My research activities have focused on property portfolio diversification analysis, management and performance measurement. The need to provide for better risk management in investment decisions, as a result of the increasing volatility in the Nigerian investment scene and the challenges this has posed to the property investment market, requires that a working knowledge of property portfolio diversification analysis and performance measurement be provided. The research activities have assisted in filling this gap. Some works were also carried out on the usefulness of property performance databases and information flow and ways of resolving problems associated with access to data in the Nigerian real estate market. The other area of my research is on real estate/housing development finance. Studies in this area focus on how to improve the general problems of access to long term finance for real estate development and housing delivery. The essence is to help in creating an enabling environment for solving real estate and housing development conundrum in the country. 16

17 The third and recent area of my research activities is on real estate education and research priorities. Against the advent of globalization and technological development and the changing real estate environment in Nigeria, the relevance of our education and research institutions research agenda and curricula needed to be re-examined. The results of these researches can be of assistance to researchers, policy makers and professionals in the real estate profession. They can also be used for developing curriculum for teaching of real estate portfolio management and analysis as a course. Signature Date: 17
