Afrekete provides a forum for Aboriginal, African and Cuban-born artists to share in their culture and traditions. 'Garlambirla Gagu' Arts, Culture & Youth Leadership Camp Coffs Harbour Artist-in-Residence Kirk Page, previously from Bangarra Dance Theatre, will work with forty young Indigenous and non- Indigenous performers from 'Garlambirla Youth Theatre' to rechoreograph original musical 'Garlambirla: A Musical with Soul' as preparation for performing the show at Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) in May Coffs Harbour A hands-on short-filmmaking workshop, delivered over three weekends, to Stroud residents by Stroud Theatre Director Anne Frost and Forster Film Festival Director Greg Smith. Stroud Manning Regional Gallery will commission an artist, photographer and a researcher to gather pictorial, oral and written material from Taree Aboriginal Elders about the traditional and early art of the Aboriginal peoples from this region. Taree Presentation of four cultural events during 2015 employing local performers and educators, ranging from classical through to popular music. Kendall An Arts, Culture and Leadership camp, in partnership with Coffs Harbour City Council, that aims to connect young people with culture and the environment, develop artistic skills and engender leadership. The camp will be held at the Cascade Environment Centre in March/April with community outcomes in Youth Week and NAIDOC week. 2 Nambucca Heads Chamber of Commerce NAMBUCCA HEADS Mosaic Mojo - Community Art in Nambucca Heads Workshops to create mosaics for the Nambucca Heads CBD. The project will be coordinated by Artist Guy Crossley who will work with a team of disabled people from Nambucca Valley Phoenix, Novaskill trainees, Aboriginal elders and young people. Annual Children's Literature Festival The CBCA NSW New England and North West Sub-Branch plan to present our third annual Booked In! Children's Literature Festival in August 2015 in the towns of Uralla and Armidale. Gravesend Public School P & C The ARTbird Project A three day in-school art experience with artist/educator Christine Porter and members of the school community, to be held at Gravesend Public School. Participants will create a suite of drypoint etchings about the bird life within the geographic area of the school. Gravesend Gravesend Moree Arts Council Thespians MACT Children's Workshops 2015 A series of theatrical workshops in terms 1 and 2 in Moree for primary school age children to increase their confidence, teamwork and imagination. Additionally as backup to the workshops, Homunculus will perform a show to encourage positive thinking and self-esteem. MOREE New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) ARMIDALE Artful Antics Moree Artful Antics is a creative day for older people in the community offering a range of fun and hands-on activities. It gives seniors the opportunity to reignite the flame of creativity and unlock hidden talents through everything from music, art, theatre, fashion, singing, craft and literature. Armidale New England Writers Centre Inc. Short Stories on the Spot Matt Blackwood, writer and artist, will conduct workshops to create 'locative literature' which are short stories created on and about a particular spot. The stories are written and presented in a variety of non traditional media. 4 Tenterfield Social Development Committee - Tenterfield Community Hub Tenterfield Regional Arts Board: The Post Box Project Arts Northern Rivers Travelling installation and exhibition of art works created by people living with disabilities. Participants will receive materials and send artworks using prepaid boxes hence breaking down the physical barriers to collaborative art making and developing an accessible approach to art making in regional communities. Tenterfield Arty Party Ensemble Arty Party A free public art event in Spinx Park, Lismore, for children under 12 & their carers in the July school holidays The event will be an interactive wonderland; a fun, celebratory adventure into multiple arts practices, child led play, place making & community building. We will activate the shared public space around Lismore Regional Gallery, the CWA & Environment Centre. BYRON BAY Mid Richmond Neighbourhood Centre EVANS HEAD Crankfest Static Arts Project The Murwillumbah Art Trail Project The Murwillumbah Art Trail 2015: Sustainable Artfluences MURWILLUMBAH Crankfest Youth Culture & Arts event is to engage a local artist to mentor & operate a static arts space hosting works by young artists from a variety of sources including secondary and tertiary education and community and youth organisations at the 2015 Crankfest '10th Anniversary' event, 18 April 2015 in Evans Head. An exhibition of contemporary art that showcases both established and emerging artists in the Tweed Valley and surrounds. Over a 6 day period, the town and shops will become the gallery and visitors will be invited to follow the exhibition trail. It will include pop up galleries as well as established galleries and artists studios. Yarn a Web Series of community workshops over four days to knit, crochet and/or knot a large spider's web to be displayed on the large flag poles at the front of the Cowra Regional Art Gallery. Opportunities will be to learn or use a skill, meet neighbours and increase social interaction. COWRA Forbes Arts Society / Platypus Gallery FORBES Somewhere down the Lachlan Sculpture (SDLS) Amazing Project Cowra The 'amazing project' is the title for a monumental community designed and fabricated 3D word sculpture that will be the first public installation erected as part of Somewhere down the Lachlan Sculpture, a permanent sculpture trail commencing in the CBD of Forbes, continuing around the lake and extending along the Lachlan River towards Condobolin NSW (via Utes in the Paddock). Forbes council area through to Lachlan council Friends of Oberon Library (FOOLS) Women of Steel Building on the success of last year's Women Welders of the West Workshop, Friends of Oberon Library will host a welding workshop for women with local artist and sculptor Harrie Fasher in May The project will strengthen and develop design and welding skills and create a collaborative communal public art work to be donated to the Oberon community. OBERON Grenfell Art Gallery GRENFELL Kalari-Lachlan River Arts Festival Inc FORBES Art Gallery Volunteer Development Workshops River Song Oberon Four hour workshop for Art Gallery volunteers to develop skills in customer service and to build confidence and knowledge to support visitor experience of gallery exhibitions. Workshop to be followed by a one day excursion to a regional art gallery. Grenfell River Song will include choir workshops for primary school students from the Forbes/Parkes region, leading to performances for Forbes River Arts Festival October 29/ Workshops will be held at the Forbes Town Hall, giving students the opportunity to work with a professional accompanist and conductor. Forbes Lithgow Community Projects Migay Ngaruu, Welcoming Legacy A series of workshops will be held in Lithgow to bring together Aboriginal clients of LCP to create an artwork that will serve as a legacy of the Migay Ngaruu and Yawarra aboriginal projects. The artwork that is created through the workshops will be reprinted and presented to local services to hang in their premises and assist in creating a welcoming environment for all Aboriginal people. 6 Parkes Shire Library Central West Comics Fest The Central West Comic Fest will celebrate this unique genre of literature using pictures and words on the same page. It will bring comic illustrators and authors to the Central West, satisfying the needs of fans who find it hard to access this contemporary art form. PARKES Tottenham Welfare Council Inc. TOTTENHAM Trundle & District Progress Association TRUNDLE Refashioning Waste Clothing for Second Life Trundle Public Art Space Unlimited Parkes Jane Milburn will run a textile workshop in March 2015, at Tottenham NSW, with an emphasis on the creative upcycling of reject clothing in a sustainable, ethical and fashionable way. Focussing on the reuse of natural fibres, participants will learn to think creatively while fostering the reuse of pre-loved textiles. Tottenham Working in collaboration with a professional artist, students from the Trundle Central School will paint murals in public areas adjoining the Trundle Mens Shed, Trundle Memorial Hall and Trundle Central School as part of a coordinated plan to create public art spaces surrounding the Trundle Main Street. 7 Regional Arts Board: Arts Upper Hunter Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group Inc Gloucester Gloucester Arts and Cultural Council Inc (GACCI) GLOUCESTER Bucketts Of Ability School Holiday Workshops A series of multi-arts workshops (visual arts, photography) facilitated by professional artists with a focus on inclusion, creative expression and mentoring and culminating in a showcase event commencing on the International Day of People with a Disability in Completed works will be displayed in local businesses, Gloucester Shire Chambers and local medical establishments. Gloucester The Gloucester Gallery in partnership with the local Homework Centre will host six workshops for children, in a variety of art forms, facilitated by local arts professionals. There will be two workshops in each school holiday period featuring music, drama, photography, drawing and art/craft. Gloucester Muswellbrook Shire Council Upper Hunter Artists Network A series of practical workshops deleivered by and for Upper Hunter artists, to collaboratively build professional and artistic capacity and share knowledge among peers. The project, overseen by Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre, will encourage professional development and networking between regional artists, and work towards the development of a selfsustaining arts group beyond MUSWELLBROOK Muswellbrook Shire Council MUSWELLBROOK Scone and Upper Hunter Horse Festival SCONE Singleton Writers Group Singleton Blue Heeler Film Festival Workshops A Night With A Bush Poet Inviting The Muse: Creativity For Writers Muswellbrook Workshops in Muswellbrook to help new and developing filmmakers through the process of creating a short film for entry in the Blue Heeler Film Festival. Muswellbrook Shire Carol Heuchan will MC a Bush Poet night at a Scone Venue during the Scone & Upper Hunter Horse Festival and invite local participants to be a part of the evening - reciting their poetry or poetry penned by other poets. Carol will also conduct a workshop in local schools to develop bush poetry knowledge and skills. This will ensure that the youth of today can maintain the great Australian tradition of penning their own bush poetry and understanding the "culture" of our festival through Bush Poetry and our rural heritage. Scone Beth Yahp will present a course at the Singleton Library that imparts ways to entice creativity back into writing and daily lives. It explores meditation techniques, drama and drawing to access and enhance creativity and inspiration. 8 Singleton Youth Venue (Singleton Shire Council) SINGLETON Write It, Act It & Shoot It A two day film making workshop, with the goal of producing a series of short 3 minute films written, performed, produced and filmed by young people using smart device technology (iphone, ipad etc). Facilitated by two local professional film makers with experience in the arts, education and community sectors, the workshops are to be held in the 2015 April school holidays. Singleton Upper Hunter Community Services More Than Just A Selfie More Than Just A Selfie will involve the community in Muswellbrook who are disadvantaged or experience social isolation. A local photographer/community worker will be engaged to run 2 x photographic workshops, increasing the skills of the participants, focusing on portraits, both individual and family/group, culminating in an exhibition at the Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre on 24/4/15. MUSWELLBROOK Muswellbrook Upper Hunter Shire Council Digi Ed Workshops Two claymation workshops will be held to provide young people of the Upper Hunter a creative outlet. The medium will be animation, an art form which many young people are interested in, particularly young boys. One workshop will be general interest and the other robotics orientated. Young people aged between 10 and 15 will be invited - taking up to 48 students. 9 Regional Arts Board: Eastern Riverina Arts Harden Murrumburrah Arts Council Creating Masterpieces with Clay Professional tutors will run ceramics workshops for young people and pottery and sculpture workshops for adults culminating in an exhibition of work and showcase of Arts Councils endeavours. HARDEN Harden Holy Basil Inc. COOLGRASS COOLGRASS aims to promote awareness and appreciation of Bluegrass music in Regional NSW through an annual festival which attracts both intrastate and interstate visitors. It will contribute a further dimension to the arts and cultural calender of Coolamon and will promote Coolamon's assets through increased visitation across the festival's duration. COOLAMON Coolamon Jugiong Writers Festival Between the Covers Several local published authors surrounding the Jugiong area will be using their talents by producing a local writers festival to encourage writing, reading and learning about the art of writing and to encourage particpation to ducument their own stories or journeys. MUTTAMA Jugiong Tumut Art Society 5Ways Mural Walk A major mural on the wall of the Tumut Art Societies 5ways gallery which then extends into an interpretive walk with five stand alone murals representing an artistic sense of place of the Tumut region. Community consultation includes the participation of students from the major regional schools in the design of the individual murals and a professional mural artist will be employed. Tumut Tumut Shire Council: Festival of the Falling Leaf Committee TUMUT Waiting for the Rising Sun Tumut Waiting for the Rising Sun is an original theatrical production that will look at how war has shaped Australia's national identity. The production will be a key element of the 2015 Tumut Festival of the Falling Leaf, will involve local adults and youth from the Tumut district and will be staged in Tumut to coincide with the commemoration of ANZAC in Wagga Wagga City Council Their Light Still Shines A Centenary of ANZAC projection project, highlighting ANZAC stories from our region. The stories come from Wagga Wagga and the surrounding region, with local artist Andrew Hagan working with the Museum of the Riverina's collection and exhibition "He Belonged to Wagga". The projection will be up nightly on the Wagga Wagga Civic Centre from 6-10pm from Saturday 25 April until Monday 8 June. 10 Regional Arts Board: Murray Arts Albury Community Drug and Alcohol Action Team ALBURY Community Doing An Awesome Thing: Drug and Alcohol Harm Minimisation Community artists will work with a cross-section of the Albury community to create artworks depicting how drug & alcohol misuse has/can impact on them. The project will encourage discussion about these impacts in a way that resonates across the community, including those hard to reach and most at risk. Completed works will be exhibited in August for Drug Action Month and photographed for a book. Albury Regional Art Gallery Backyard Bonanza 'Backyard Bonanza' aims to uncover and nurture musical gold from our very own backyard in a collaboration with local sound and film artists. Talented musicians will have their music professionally recorded, and a music video produced by leading regional practitioners, resulting in an exhibition and live performance as part of the opening program of the Albury Regional Art Gallery. ALBURY Albury Wodonga Theatre Company Stage Lighting Workshop Stage lighting workshop to provide interested persons the opportunity to gain a base knowledge. Run by Mr Gerry Corcoran. Run over 2 days it will cover area's such as OH&S Elements of light, maintenance as well as console, lenses and filters ALBURY Friends of Sanger Street Inc COROWA Street Mural on Woolworths Wall Sanger St. Corowa A variety of picture boards created by local schools, community groups and individual artists depicting local flora and fauna will be placed on the wall of Woolworths Supermarket. These boards will be surrounding an image of the Murray River made from oxidised steel by local engineering firms and will be added to the wall over a period of time as they are completed. Henty Active Arts Metal Art Sculptures Workshop Metal Art Sculptor Michael Laubli will teach a one day workshop in May 2015 at the Henty Mens Shed, where participants will learn how to create sculptures by recycling unwanted car parts. 11 Woomera Aboriginal Corporation Women s Yarning Circle The Woomera Aboriginal Corporation will run regular intergenerational women s gatherings at the Woomera Community Hub Art Shed to build on already strong partnerships with other Aboriginal organisations, working collaboratively in addressing social, emotional and physical wellbeing through community connectivity and health promotion. The project will strengthen cultural connections by providing opportunities to engage in traditional and contemporary arts and crafts. ALBURY Albury Albury $3, Page 11 of 21

12 Regional Arts Board: Orana Arts Baradine Central School P&C Josh Arnold - Small Town Culture Queensland musician, Josh Arnold, will work with the students K-12 of Baradine Central School in Term , to develop and record a song to celebrate Baradine's unique small town culture during the community's sesquicentenary year. BARADINE Binnaway Progress Association Inc Our past and our future through art Engage children and youth within our local community, with the guidance of an artist and in partnership with the Binnaway Central School, to create a mural within the town centre of Binnaway during the first term of school in The artwork is intended to be used on ANZAC day, as part of the commemoration by the Binnaway community. BINNAWAY Cementa Cementa15 Arts Workshop The provision of four three hour workshops for children aged 7-14 during Cementa 15 (April 8-12) in Kandos. Each workshop will focus on the practice of a different artist: Michael Petchkovsky, Tina Havelock Stevens, Karen Golland, and Heidi Lefebvre. These workshops will be designed to give children an opportunity to engage with and better understand the contemporary art being exhibited during the festival. KANDOS Harmony Singers The Chapel Project: Birdsong The development and workshopping of an inter-disciplinary performance project conceived by artist Kim V. Goldsmith, involving a choral composition by Sally Whitwell, performed by Harmony Singers, and including projected mapped video elements. Gilgandra Leader in Development The Apollo Fabric Art Dream The opportunity for an existing group of indigenous community members to enhance their skill base by attending four Fabric Art Workshops held at Apollo House; a centre based in the heart of a community that is faced with daily struggles and disadvantage. DUBBO Macquarie Regional Library ComicCraft Opportunity for locals to participate in introductory Comic Drawing/ Graphic Novel workshops and author talks for youth and adults with professional comic/graphic artists /writers. 13 Mudgee Performing Arts Society Cudgegong Youth Theatre This grant will provide seed funding for the formation of the Cudgegong Youth Theatre, which will employ artist and director Sam Paine to run workshops over the first six months of 2015 with young (under 18) theatre makers and performers in Mudgee and the nearby towns of Gulgong and Kandos to broaden their horizons and improve their skills. MUDGEE Ngarru Mayin Elders Aboriginal corporation NARROMINE Warrumbungle Shire Council COONABARABRAN Growing Cultural Connections Warrumbungle Performing Arts Group - Broadening Horizons Ngarru Mayin Elders Aboriginal Corporation will present a series of workshops to the community in mid 2015 at the Narromine Historical Museum and Meeting Place that focus on the different aspects of Wiradjuri culture. The workshops will reflect the significance and meaning of carved trees, bush tucker, language and dance and culminate in the opening of the community garden. Performing arts workshops will be hosted locally for the newly formed Youth Performing Arts Group in Warrumbungle Shire. Workshops will be presented by Australian Theatre for Young People - street and festival arts - and by Smashed Arts / Bathurst PCYC - circus and related arts. 14 Regional Arts Board: Outback Arts Bourke Arts Council Bourke Performance Art Express The Arts Council will engage a performance artist to work with youth and young adults who have existing and/or latent talent in theatre skills. The resulting workshops and public performances will build the capacity of young people and the wider community to participate in and enhance current and future social and cultural events, and establish a more formal youth network. BOURKE Bourke Shire Council Festival of 1000 Stories The Festival of a Thousand Stories enhances Bourke's identity as an Outback Literary hub and will develop a stronger framework to support existing activities. The Festival will develop a range of storytelling activities including poetry, music and song, short-story, art and performance. This project will facilitate a variety of storytelling development through workshops and support for artists BOURKE Cobar Shire Council Little Big Day Out The Cobar Youth Council will host a Little Big Day Out in February It will be all ages and host local bands and musicians. Most artists will be years, supported by experienced musicians from the community. Between sets a DJ will play and fun activities held. COBAR Coonamble Ceramics Collective COONAMBLE Fired Up - Outback Wood Fire Camp Pit firing weekend/ workshop that connects regional, outback and city creative communities. This is an opportunity for creatives from various backgrounds to build skills and professional relationships. Work from the firing will be on exhibition at the Talent Scout Art Studio for one month. Coonamble Walgett Shire Council Circus workshop and performance During the Walgett Bulldust to Bitumen Festival in August 2015, Circus Monoxide will visit Walgett and conduct workshops with marginalised and disadvantaged young people over the week of the Festival, giving them skills and confidence. They will work towards a performance at the end of the week with the Circus Monoxide professionals. WALGETT Warren Arts Council Cosi Fan Tutte The Arts Council aim to increase the level of arts and culture for Warren and the surrounding regional communities through the experience of Co-Opera's production of "Cosi Fan Tutte". 15 Regional Arts Board: RANSW Jerilderie Arts & Talents Society (JATS) JERILDERIE JATS Variety Showcase The JATS Variety Showcase will be a production of various acts from visual arts, singing, dance, acting, choir, comedy, circus and all or any other talents in between. The Group invites people from Kinder to 100 to become involved to showcase their Arts and Talents. The most important part of the project is the workshops leading up to the production itself. The workshops will commence January. Jerilderie KidsFest Shellharbour Inc KidsFest Art Killalea The KidsFest Arts Killalea will create an interactive arts and cultural event. Three highly respected Shellharbour artists of diverse backgrounds- Anita Larkin, Melissa Gillis and Richard Campbell will share their arts practice with local children. May will see multiple workshops at primary schools culminating in the KidsFest Arts Trail at the breathtaking Killalea State Park May 23. Batemans Bay Bega Valley Regional Gallery Shot: Youth Short Film Workshop Working with an experienced filmmaker from the Australian Television and Radio School (AFTRS), participants will devise their own short film using an Ipad or Iphone. Participants will develop scripts, capture shoots, do cut-aways and stills and edit to create their own dynamic short film. BEGA Biamanga Percussion Manga Drum Series of five day-long workshops for youth throughout 2015, to develop a collaboration between live percussion performance and digital sound technologies. 18 Regional Arts Board: South West Arts Berrigan District Development Association BERRIGAN Berrigan Red Cross and ANZAC centenary Celebration Mosaic Workshops A professional artist will conduct workshops in mosaic art over a 10 week period with the children from the two primary schools in Berrigan. Berrigan Red Cross has recently celebrated its 100th year, and as it is the 100 year anniversary of Anzac in 2015, they would like to use the Red Cross's association with Anzac as the theme for the mosaic art to be on display in Berrigan. Berrigan Carrathool Shire Council Weaving Together Wagga artist, Kath Powederly, will work with community members instructing them in the art of traditional Aboriginal weaving. Each participant will complete a basket or other item and learn skills which can be used after the workshop. The Venue will be in Goolgowi in March-May 2015 and will be open to the community. GOOLGOWI Conargo Shire Council Headless Horseman District artist Margaret Radeski will work with members of the community to design and produce a large public arts project depicting the legendary Headless Horseman and other scenes relating to Booroorban history. The artwork will be executed through silhouette steel panels bolted to the Booroorban Hall as a permanent fixture. DENILIQUIN Echuca Moama Arts Initiative Art Workshop Series Professional artists will be engaged to run a series of workshops including life drawing, print making and welding for rurally isolated amateur artists. The workshops will be available to a range of participants including youth, disabled and indigenous groups. Art rooms at Moama Grammar will be used for the two day workshops. Participants will have the opportunity to later exhibit their artwork. MOAMA Moama Shear Outback Shear Stories Shear Stories will be a key element of the Festival of the Blades at Easter 2015 at Shear Outback, Hay. The project aims to stimulate an interest in creative writing as well as documenting and interpreting the lives of legendary figures of the shearing industry who will be involved in the Festival. The artists will work with local children and adults to construct individual lanterns to be used at the event. Berrima CMS Productions Over the Top Artist-in-residence, playwright Dr Linden Wilkinson, will develop the script for Over the Top, a full theatrical production scheduled to be performed in Moss Vale in April, In 2015 she will interview Southern Highland individuals and families impacted by three different wars, WWI, Vietnam and Iraq to create the show's content, as well as consult with participating community groups. MOSS VALE Wingecarribee Shire Lieder Theatre Company Inc. War Stories Ten actors will be engaged by the Lieder Theatre Company to record stories and letters written during WW1 and used as an audio visual installation in the Goulburn Regional Art Gallery and the Lieder Theatre foyer during exhibitions and performances throughout the year. The material will be used to create live performances, busking and street theatre around town. GOULBURN Goulburn Queanbeyan City Council Platypus Dreaming A community partnered public art project of a platypus mosaic framed by Aboriginal painted artwork depicting a story of the platypus/river. The story will be painted by a local Indigenous artist. The mosaic will be undertaken by the community over 3 days at the 2015 River Festival, facilitated by a local mosaic artist. The piece will be a permanent display on the banks of the Queanbeyan River. QUEANBEYAN Queanbeyan Wollondilly Shire Council Wollondilly IlluminARTe A Digital and Creative Arts Festival projecting artworks on landmark buildings in Picton to be held on Saturday 11th April The newly created festival will bring artists, residents and tourists together for a culturally creative activity that celebrates art in different mediums. The program involves sketching, virtual design on ipads and spray can technique. The 16 week project includes a professional artist delivering four workshops to improve their skills. The program will conclude with the creation of a mural project at the local skate park and an exhibition at the regional gallery. GRIFFITH Riverina Community College - Leeton LEETON Crafty Youth Entrepreneurs Local artist Louise Cooper will work together with local youth in a series of workshops to teach simple crafts, marketing and event management skills to produce small craft goods culminating in the development of a showcasing market to launch products and services to both local and world wide audiences. The event will take place in the Leeton area during National Youth Week 2015 The Cad Factory On Common Ground On Common Ground is a community driven, site specific exploration of innovative contemporary textile practices; traditional textile crafts of the region and sound art with a focus on their interaction with the land and environment.
