1 Wednesday, August 3 Private Tour of Lyonel Feininger: At the Edge of the World Please join us for a wine reception and an after-hours private tour of our critically acclaimed exhibition Lyonel Feininger: At the Edge of the World. Fridays in August: 5th, 12th, 19th, & 26th Whitney Live with Medeski, Martin, & Wood Time: 7:00 pm This August, in celebration of their twentieth anniversary, legendary band Medeski, Martin, and Wood will perform with special guest artists each Friday in the Whitney s Lower Gallery. Guest artists will include John Scofield, Wicked Knee, Charlie Burnham, DJ Logic, and Cyro Baptista. Admission is free for members. Saturday, September 10 Location: Whitney Museum of American Art Wednesday, September 21 Contemporaries Fall Kick-off at DC Moore Gallery Location: 535 West 22nd Street Join us for a festive evening of cocktails and conversation at DC Moore Gallery to kick off the fall Contemporaries calendar! Artist Eric Aho will be on hand to chat with members about his exhibition on view, Eric Aho: Covert, a series of paintings exploring the ideas of shelter and escape. Additionally on view is 9/11: Through Young Eyes. Inspired by a visit to an exhibition of Jacob Lawrence s work, Migration, at the Whitney in fall 2001, this exhibition features student work in response to the events of that year. Wednesday, October 5 The Whitney Museum Annual Gala and Studio Party Time: 7:00 pm Gala, 9:00 pm Studio Party Location: Pier 59 The Whitney Gala is a highlight of the New York City social calendar and celebrates the Museum's history and future. Guests include prominent members of the art, fashion, media, business and corporate communities.

2 Wednesday, October 12 Artist Studio Visit with Robert Kushner Time: 6:30-8:00 pm Join us for a Patron-exclusive visit with artist Robert Kushner! Since participating in the founding of the Pattern and Decoration Movement in the 1970s, Robert Kushner has continued to address controversial issues involving decoration in his work. Kushner draws from an unlikely range of influences, including Islamic patterns, Japanese screens, French Nabis painters, Matisse, O Keefe, and Demuth. His work is museum collections around the world, including the Tate Gallery, London, SF MoMA, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Met, MoMA and, of course, the Whitney. Saturday, October 15 Fall Gallery Walk: Lower East Side Time: 12:00-2:00 pm Join the Contemporaries on our bi-annual gallery walk, this time in the Lower East Side, led by a Whitney curator. We ll enjoy light breakfast bites at our first stop! Wednesday, November 2 Private Collection Visit: Joel Wachs and Linda & Robert Gersh On this progressive private collection visit, we ll gather first at the home of Joel Wachs, Executive Director of the Andy Warhol Foundation and collector for forty years, who will share with us a sampling of his favorite works. Afterward, we ll head over to the New York apartment of Linda and Robert Gersh!

Wednesday, November 9 Fall Exhibition Opening Reception Join us for a festive evening to celebrate the opening of our fall exhibitions Sherrie Levine: Mayhem, Real/Surreal, and Roy Lichtenstein Film. Saturday, November 12 Wednesday, November 16 Artist Visit with Jonathan Allen at Lu Magnus Location: Lu Magnus Gallery, 55 Hester Street Join artist Jonathan Allen as he discusses his first solo show at Lu Magnus. Allen has exhibited at a number of New York galleries and nonprofit art spaces, including PS122, Socrates Sculpture Park, and Exit Art. In 2008, Allen was awarded a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant. In , he participated in the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Workspace residency. In 2010, Brooklyn Arts Press published SUPERSTRUCTURE, a monograph of Allen s work. In December 2010, Allen s first international solo exhibition opened in Italy. December 2-4 Miami Basel members attending the fair will be invited to an exciting cocktail event hosted by the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami. More details to come! First Week of March Private walk-through of the Independent Art Fair Time: 7:00-9:00 pm Curatorial Liaison Margot Norton takes us on a private walk-through of the Independent Art Fair. The Independent strives to reexamine tradition art fair models and methods of presentation, in response to the changing attitudes and growing challenges for artists, galleries, non-profits, curators, and collectors as the experience of viewing and interacting with contemporary art in a group context. 5 Tuesday, March 27 Navigating an Auction Please join us for a private reception of the next Photography auction by Phillips de Pury & Co. Art advisor Lowell Pettit will walk us through the sale, and highlight the unique challenges and rewards of collecting photographs. Over his career, Pettit has worked for a number of photographers and photography galleries, and briefly served in the Department of Photographs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He has also served on the faculty of the Sotheby's Institute of Art over the last decade. In that time, the auctions have arguably been the most conspicuous sign of global expansion within the art market. While photography has been at the center of that expansion, much of the material remains accessible and affordable. The evening promises to be a fun introduction for those who are new to the history of photography, just as it will be a healthy overview of medium today for those already involved in collecting photographs. Thursday, March 29 Private Collection Visit with Zoe and Joel Dictrow Time: 6:00-8:00pm Join us for cocktails as we tour the home of Zoe and Joel Dictrow. The Dictrows focus their contemporary art collection on emerging and well-known international artists working in sculpture, painting, photography, video, and works on paper. The couple updates the portion of their collection on view each year following the Armory show, so you can be sure there will be something new and exclusive on display. Wednesday, April 4 Biennial Artist Performance, followed by drinks at Crown Join us for a Biennial performance of Michael Clarke s dance company at the Museum. Afterward, we ll move nearby for drinks in the Presidential Dining Room, at Contemporaries co-chair Mark Amadei s new restaurant, Crown. Saturday, April 21 Spring Gallery Walk in Chelsea

Wednesday, May 2 Contemporaries Prospecting Party at Hunt Slonem Studio Time: 7:00-9:00pm Contemporaries members are invited to bring a few friends and join us to explore the wilds of artist Hunt Slonem s 15,000 square foot west-side studio. The artist will be on hand to mingle with guests and discuss his work. Be sure to bring a couple of friends who might be interested in learning more about the Contemporaries and the upcoming Art Party. Saturday, May 12 The Whitney is open late just for members!
