3 Streetgames Activator Workshops dodgeball CoST: 30 ROUNdERS CoST: 30 All StreetGames Activator Workshops are 3 hours in duration & all participants must be 16 or over. activator workshops provide community sports & youth workers with the skills to introduce new activities to the groups they work with. The workshops draw on the principles of teaching games for understanding, & they provide numerous activities to enable coaches to interact with the young people & understand their motivations. The qualification is composed of seven mandatory units. It is recognised as the industry standard level 1 qualification for coaching by the NGB for Rugby League in the UK. LEVEL 1 AWARd IN COACHINg BASkETBALL (QCF) CoST: TH & 26 TH NOvEMbER This qualification is designed to provide you with the skills & knowledge required to enable you to support other, more qualified coaches to coach Basketball to groups of adults and/or young people participating in Basketball. The qualification is composed of seven mandatory units. It is recognised as the industry standard level 1 qualification for coaching by the NGB for Basketball in the UK. Provides learners aged 17+ with an introduction to the processes & principles of supporting child through multi-skills. LEARNERS WHO ACHIEvE THIS qualification WILL: > Be able to support children s successful participation in sport > Learn to design, deliver & evaluate multi-skills activity sessions > Make a positive impact on the children they re working with by developing their movement confidence & sport-related skills > Help children master the fundamentals of movement in a fun, imaginative & progressive way THE qualification IS SUITAbLE FOR: > Sport-specific coaches who wish to specialise in coaching children & young people > Sports coaches who work or aspire to work in schools > Coaches who work predominantly with children The objective of this qualification is to provide a benefit to learners through an introduction into the principles & practice of safe, ethical & effective management & coaching of Rounders sessions for adults & young people in an appropriate environment, as an assistant normally under the supervision of a Level 2 qualified Rounders coach. This is supported by the National Source Group (NSG) for Rounders, led by Rounders england as the trade association & employers for Rounders. A range of technical experts from within the NSG for Rounders have provided technical input in the of this qualification. 4 sport & mental health THeory CoST: 40 sport & mental health is a 3-hour workshop designed to give you the practical tools to help you better support those of us with mental health problems to be more active. This short course is aimed at anyone working within sport & physical activity from coaches to front-of-house staff who would like to increase their knowledge & understanding of mental health within the context of their work. during the workshop you will; > Explore perceptions & misconceptions about mental health including the positive impact of sport and physical activity on physical & mental health & wellbeing > Understand the barriers that those people with mental health problems can experience in sport & physical activity > Have developed practical ways that you can create a positive sporting environment which is more inclusive & accessible to those people with mental health problems > Feel more confident to talk about mental health & wellbeing & know where to signpost people to > Develop an action plan to embed practices into your organisation No prior knowledge is necessary & this highly interactive workshop will help you develop practical tools to ensure your activities are even more inclusive.
