10 Studying Tourism The Tourism degree blends theory with practice providing the skills necessary to manage quality tourism experiences and to develop and manage tourism businesses Focus of the programme lies in nature activities, cultural aspects and recreational tourism Field trips play an important role: studying outside the classroom, outdoors and in natural surroundings Practical approach, applying theory to practice Students specialize in adventure tourism or wellbeing tourism

11 Tuition fees First academic year: euros From second year onwards, students who complete a minimum of 55 credits per academic year, can apply for a scholarship that covers 50 % of the tuition fee First year fee to be paid when accepting the study place In addition, students pay for their study materials and living costs

With one online application students may apply for up to 6 different programmes or/and 6 different Finnish higher education institutions (Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences) Applicant must decide on the order of the preferences during the application period!

18 Required Documents 1) A copy of a secondary school certificate or vocational qualification. Please check that it is the qualification that would also give you eligibility to apply to the University in your own country. Note! EU/EEA -citizen graduating in summer of 2017 will be requested to submit the copies of their certificates upon confirmation of acceptance by 15 July ) Official translation of the qualification into English, Finnish or Swedish

19 Entrance Exams All eligible applicants are invited to attend an entrance examination held in April each year International Business Kajaani and also abroad in cooperation with FINNIPS network Pre-reading material available on in January 2017 Exam consists of a written part (an essay, multiple-choice questions, tasks of applied mathematics and logic) and a group discussion. KAMK International Business accepts the exam results of the other UAS business programmes of the FINNIPS network. Sports and Leisure Management Kajaani and also abroad in cooperation with FINNIPS network The exam includes writing an essay, various sports tests, a short instruction session and an interview. For this degree entrance examination results from other UAS will not be accepted Tourism Kajaani and also abroad in cooperation with FINNIPS network Exam consists of a written part (an essay, multiple-choice questions, tasks of applied mathematics and logic) and an interview KAMK Tourism accepts the exam results of the other UAS tourism programmes of the FINNIPS network

20 Entrance Exams KAMK arranges entrance exams abroad as part of the FINNIPS-network. In spring 2017 the network will arrange entrance examinations in twelve countries outside Finland.
