1 Associate of General Studies in General Studies To Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Education Completion of the following curriculum will satisfy the requirements for the Associate of General Studies in General Studies degree at Ivy Tech Community College and leads to the Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Education degree at Northern Kentucky University. Admission Requirements for a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Education (Courses in parentheses are Ivy Tech course equivalents) A minimum overall GPA of 2.75 A minimum grade of B in CMST 101 (COMM 101) and ENG 291 (ENGL 112) A minimum grade of C in all other pre-admission courses and required EDU and EDS courses, which include EDU 00 (PSYC 201), EDU 05 (EDU 101), EDU 1 (EDUC 201), EDU 16 (EDUC 255), and EDS 60 (EDUC 20). Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators: Reading (5712) 156 or higher, Writing (5722) 162 or higher and Mathematics (572) 150 or higher Pass criminal background check 60 semester hours completed An acceptable portfolio A completed application to the Teacher Education program
