9 Additional Requirements All students must take a Math or Quantitative Reasoning course each year in High School All students - Financial Literacy proficiency -Take and pass the C.H.S Financial Literacy Examination. * All freshman will take this test at the Freshman Center during the school day in October -Take and pass the Personal Financial Responsibility course -Take and pass the Adult Roles and Responsibilities course

11 Course Description Guide Freshman courses begin on page 77 in the Course Description Guide (blue text) Sophomore through Senior courses (BLACK TEXT) are there for future reference Prerequisite = classes that you MUST complete before taking a course Recommendation = suggestions for course selection
12 Course Selection Sheet Students will have until Feb. 22nd to make and turn in their course selections. After selecting courses, students will have a total of 16 checkmarks on their sheets. All course selection sheets will need a parent and student signature.
13 Zero Hour Zero Hour is currently not offered to Freshman Students will have 2 permanent selections called No Zero Hour Course on their course selection sheet.

23 World Language SPANISH I or II, FRENCH or JAPANESE Should you move on to Spanish II as a 9 th grader after taking Spanish I as an 8 th grader? Keep in mind. Spanish is spoken about 90% of the time in Sp. II Mastering specific skills in Spanish I is essential before moving on to Spanish II, III and IV.
24 High School Courses Taken While In Middle School PE I Preparing for College and Careers Spanish I Algebra I Geometry PE I and Preparing for College and Careers will be automatically placed on the high school transcript and will be figured into your GPA. Algebra I, Geometry and Spanish I will automatically be placed on the high school transcript unless repeated in 9th grade. For Spanish I, you will have the option to remove those credits if you do not move on to Span. II
