2 The AP Academy and Alpine Institute Is Flexible The AP Academy and Alpine Institute can be tailored to students individual interests and academic strengths. Students can choose an area of specialization or can take higher level courses in all core areas and electives of their interest.

4 The Three Levels of Distinction at Flagstaff High School AP Academy Distinguished Scholar AP Academy Diploma with specialization (Social Studies, English, Math, Science, Conservation and Stewardship) Alpine Institute Diploma

5 AP Academy Distinguished Scholar Complete at least 8 AP-level courses in high school Complete at least one AP course in each of the 4 core subject areas (Science, Math, English, Social Studies) in their final two years (11 th /12 th ) AP Human Geography is required to be one of the 8 Students complete the Senior Capstone Project Maintain an unweighted GPA of 3.3

8 Alpine Institute Diploma Students will take 4 of the following courses: At least one science and one elective Science Oceanography Electives Outdoor Discovery I Pre-AP Biology Alpine English 12 AP Environmental Science AP Biology Alpine Art/Graphic Design Culinary III Outdoor Adventure (PE) Minimum of a B in each of the four classes - overall 2.5 GPA. Students complete at least 60 hours of service-learning opportunities.

16 How do students know which distinction they will be awarded at graduation? During the spring of their senior year, they will fill out a "Petition for Graduation with an AP Academy Diploma" This form will ask students to indicate which of the three distinctions they are requesting. They will indicate which classes they are claiming for that and they will attach a transcript to it.
