The Divisional Accountants (Prob.) as mentioned in Annexure-B are directed to submit their invidual requests for condoning the deficiency in the minimum period of training required to be eligible for appearing in the said exam by positively. Further, it has been observed that Divisional Accountants(Prob.) do not take the examination seriously and very often after applying for appearing in the same, they do not actually take the examination. It is, therefore, brought to the notice of all the concerned Divisional Accountants (Prob.) that :- I. The candidates will not ordinarily be allowed more than three chances but the Accountant General may in special circumstances, allow upto three additional chances to those whom he considers deserving of the concession. If the period of probation is curtailed, the number of chances will be curtailed correspondingly. If he/she is unsuccessful in passing the Divisional Accountants Grade Examination within the prescribed number of admissible chances allowed or exhausts the chances by not availing himself/herself of any of the available chances, he/she is liable to be removed from service. 2. Counting of a chance will commence from the First Divisional Accountants Grade Examination held after a Divisional Accountants (Prob.) has become eligible to appear at the Divisional Accountants Grade Examination irrespective of the fact whether the Divisional Accountants (Prob.) actually appears at the examination. After having become eligible for appearing at the Divisional Accountants Grade Examination for valid reasons, he/she should apply for exemption from appearing in the Divisional Accountants Grade Examination and for not reckoning it as a chance, sufficiently in advance within a period of two months before

2 commencement of the examination for getting orders of the competent authority for according such permission which will be granted by the competent authority only after' he/she satisfies himself/herself about the genuineness and validity of the grounds stated by the candidates as sufficient justification for granting exemption. Failure to appear in the examination will be treated as a chance availed to in cases where permission of absence from the examination is not granted by the competent authority. 3. Permission for not appearing at the examination whenever granted will be for the particular examination applied for and will not be adjusted/combined for any subsequent examination. In other words, absence in subsequent examination will be reckoned as an availed chance for computing the total number of chances within which he/she should qualify in the Divisional Accountants Grade Examination. 4. Application received after the due date or in incomplete shape will be rejected. 5. The eligible Divisional Accountants (Prob.) should appear and clear the examination in their own interest and for continued retention in the grade. Failure to take the examination without orders of the Accountant General will be treated as a chance. 6.
