It is my pleasure and privilege to salute you first for being in the role of leading the dependant young souls to the light of independence and importance. You are well aware that today every student s ambition is to become a global citizen, be it in knowledge, skills, exposure, achievements, or whatever. English, being the most dominant global language, plays a very important role here. Proficiency in Standard English is the most important item one should have in his/her backpack when sets out to conquer the world. And here we believe we can do something meaningful for the posterity, holding hands together with you. Information Booklet TOPEL English is a unique language proficiency enhancement system for students a system of guiding, equipping, evaluating and certifying students, making them proficient in Standard English. It is specially designed for students of non-english speaking countries in order to enable them to speak and write linguistically and logically better English, complementing and reinforcing what they get from formal schooling. TOPEL English is the result of extensive research and ground-level experiments for years by experts belonging to linguistic, academic and social realms. It is not a mere examination, rather a comprehensive system for achieving excellence in the acquisition and use of the language. To attain this noble objective, we also impart effective orientation to the English language teachers of the associating schools, as a part of the project. The examinations, open for all streams and syllabi, are administered by TOPEL Learning Solutions which is a constituent of TOPEL Foundation. The Foundation undertakes, among other things, support measures for deserving students as a part of its social commitment initiatives. All of the students of your proud school, studying in classes III to XII, may be encouraged to get registered to TOPEL English and thus to make use of this unparalleled and highly beneficial language exam. Students belonging to CBSE, ICSE, ISC, or State Board can register to TOPEL English through their respective schools. (Individual registration facility is not available.) Mode of Registration Registration is to be done online by respective schools, filling up the forms available on the website ( first the School Registration Form (SRF), and then the Consolidated Student Registration Form (CRF). Schools are advised to better assign duty to a staff member as Coordinating Teacher (CT) in full charge of the TOPEL program. The CT can collect and upload the student data along with details of payment, using the CRF. The school can avail of the facility by entering the unique school username and password supplied online on submitting the school details via the School Registration Form. All columns of the CRF should be filled. Last date for submitting students data with payment details 15 November

6 Enrol to Enrich. Equip to Excel. Mode & Schedule of Exams The examinations are to be conducted at school level with printed question papers and OMR answer sheets. This academic year s ( ) examinations are scheduled to be held on 3rd February Examination Centres Normally, each associating school is the exam centre. But, in case the number of enrolled students is very low, then the students will have to move to a nearby school to take the exam. Hall Tickets The examination hall tickets for the enrolled students will be sent to the concerned schools along with question papers. Model Questions The associating school can download model question papers, available class-wise, from the website ( using their unique username and password. It will be highly useful for the students to make themselves acquainted with the whole program. Question Papers Students of each class/grade will have separate question papers, prepared on the basis of the Guide Books. Printed question papers, separately for all students enrolled, along with related instructions, will be sent to the school by speed post/courier. OMR Sheets The OMR answer sheets for all the enrolled students will be sent to the concerned schools along with question papers. The marked OMR sheets are to be sent back to the TOPEL Regional Office (in the supplied envelops) by courier/speed post, immediately after the examination.
