Please see below: Important Information Regarding ALL Pre- Administration Sessions The dates, times, and locations of any and all pre-administration sessions are subject to change depending on the delivery date of AP testing materials from College Board. In the event of any change, up-dated information will be sent through the AP Student Remind Account, on the counseling webpage, and through school-wide announcement. 9 th and 10 th grade students will have pre-administration session on Wednesday/Thursday April 18 th / 19 th in the following classes: AP Human Geography/AP World History. 11th and 12th grade students will be able to complete Pre Administration by attending one of the following sessions: Wednesday or Thursday April 18 th / 19 th 8:00am or 4:15pm in the Auditorium. AP Exam Pre-Administration Exam Pre-Administration allows those taking AP exams to save 30 minutes or more on the actual exam day. What can you expect to happen at a pre-administration session? Students will: Complete the identification information portion of the answer document. Receive their unique student AP number. Receive a list of what to bring on the day of the exam. Avoid having to arrive 45 minutes early or remain minutes after on exam day What to bring to a pre-administration session For the pre-administration session, each student will need to bring: Sharpened number 2 pencils (NOT mechanical pencils), Identification (student ID, driver s license, etc.)
BEST EXAM DAY PRACTICES 5 AP Exam Day Absolutes Everyone is stressed on the day of an AP exam! Here are 5 things to remember for the day of your exam (or days of your exams): Arrive at least 30 minutes before your exam You will need to check-in for each exam and locate your assigned seat. While this may seem like it would not take much time, keep in mind that many exams have a hundred or more students also signing in at the same time. Bring your ID College Board requires us to check for proper identification to ensure that the correct exam materials are being given to the student registered for the exam. If you do not have your student ID or driver s license at the time of check-in, you will need to find a teacher or administrator to verify who you are. Bring ONLY allowable items in a CLEAR BAG Packing your testing items in a clear zipper bag allows you to keep all of your things together and ready to go on the day of your AP exam. This helps you in the area of time and being prepared relieving some additional stress. Backpacks, bags, purses, etc. will not be allowed in the testing room. Only items listed on the allowable items list will be permitted into the testing room. All other items will need to be stored/secured in another location during the exam. Restrooms and hallways are NOT secure areas to store items during the exam. Items found in these areas during the exam will be taken to the main office. Plan to stay until the exam has officially ended ALL test-takers must remain in the testing room until all exams have been collected and accounted. Afternoon exams can last past the regular school dismissal time. If you play a sport or have a job, it is your responsibility to inform your coach or employer of your AP Exam obligation; arrangements should be made accordingly. If you ride the bus, it is your responsibility to make alternative transportation arrangements. 1. Bring a sweater or a jacket. Room temperatures can vary. While blankets, robes, etc. can keep you warm, they are not permissible in the testing room. 2. Get plenty of rest the night before the exam. This will help you stay alert and focused during your exam. 3. Eat a nutritious meal before the exam. This, too will help you remain alert and focused. 4. Follow all instructions. Review the Bulletin for AP students and Parents to prepare in advance. Listen to all instructions during the exam itself. 5. Relax. You have studied and prepared. Now is your moment to show what you know! You ve got this!
Review the Bulletin for AP Students and Parents You should have received this from one of your AP teachers before or during AP exam registration, or upon request in the counseling office. This publication from College Board provides important information for AP exams. To Bring... To Bring or Not to Bring You should bring the following items to the exam room: A state or school-issued photo ID and your AP Student Pack Several sharpened No. 2 pencils with erasers for all responses on your multiple-choice answer sheet. (Students outside the U.S.: bring HB or No. 2 pencils.) Pens with black or dark blue ink for completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for freeresponse questions in most exams. Pens with black or dark blue ink for completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for freeresponse questions in most exams. Your 6-digit school code. It is advisable to bring a sweater, in case the room temperature is below your comfort level. *Some colleges and universities use Social Security numbers as student identifiers when assigning AP credit or advanced placement for qualifying AP scores. While the College Board does not require students to provide their Social Security number, they may want to check with the college or university where they are sending scores to see if they prefer for students to provide a Social Security number on their AP Exam answer sheet.
NOT To Bring... Electronic equipment (cell phone, smartphone, smartwatch, laptop, tablet computer, etc.), portable listening or recording devices (MP3 player, ipod, etc.), cameras or other photographic equipment, devices that can access the internet, or other electronic or communication devices. Calculators (except as noted above) *Unless this has been preapproved as an accommodation by the College Board Services for Students with Disabilities office prior to the test date.
Important Exam Reminders You may NOT post anything regarding AP exams to social media. Doing so may result in a cancelation of your scores. If you do not have a calculator for the exams listed below, you will be required to complete a form stating that you are choosing to take the exam without a calculator and you will not use the absence of a calculator as a reason to challenge your score on that exam. This form will be submitted along with an incident report and your exam to College Board.
