2 Brain Feed recognized The Geekay World School as one of the Top International Schools of India and conferred the School Excellence Award at the 4th National Conference and School Excellence Awards 2017 on 4th February 2017, at Le Meridian, New Delhi. On behalf of the Management and Faculty at TGWS, the Head of School-Dr.Praseedha Sreekumar received the award. Some other Top International Schools of India in the list are- Aga Khan Academy, G D Goenka World School, Indus International School, KIIT international School, Stone Hill International School, The International School Bangalore and others. It is striking that this is the 4th Award in a row for TGWS in a span of 8 months of the current academic year Free Eye Check up and MR (Measles and Rubella) vaccination camp OPTIC SQUARE from Vellore organised a free eye check up in our school campus for all the students and members of staff at TGWS on 1 st February Meanwhile, As per notification from State Government s Public Health Division MR (Measles and Rubella) vaccination camp students of K1 G10 on 14th February was organised in our school campus for the

3 TGWS Bags Laurels in TAISI Sports Meet-2017 The Geekay World School Bags laurel at The 9th TAISI Sports Meet The Association of International School of India (TAISI) invites the International Schools from all over India to participate in Annual Sports Meet. This year it was held at Inventure Academy, Bangalore. TGWS student sports team participated in Football, Tennis, Swimming and Athletics and came back home with 17 medals- 7 Gold, 4 Silver and 6 Bronze medals along with one Individual Championship Award by the student Arpeeth Jain. The Geekains bagged notable achievements in Short Put, Discuss Throw,100 Mtrs, 200 Mtrs, 400 Mtrs High Jump and Long Jump. Altogether 34 International Schools of India participated in TAISI and some of them are MIT Gurukul, Pune, DY Patil International School, Pune, Choithram International School, Indore, The International School, Bangalore, Oakridge Hyderabad, Inventure Academy, Bangalore. Neev Academy,Bangalore, Hindustan International School,Chennai, KC International School Chennai, etc

6 TGWS Community Service at Govt Higher Secondary Ranipet Discipline & Hygiene TGWS Community Service Team at Pulliyankannu Government School, Ranipet TGWS Community Service Wing has taken up a couple of projects for the past two years. The recent project is a Hygiene Orientation Camp undertaken by the Geekains at Pulliyankannu Government School, Ranipet on 27th February,2017.The students of TGWS conducted Moral classes for the students at Government School, presented cultural programmes for them and donated dustbins to the classrooms as a start up towards healthy and hygienic life. It was a great collaborative platform for not only the Geekains but also the students of Pulliyankannu Government School. We look forward to more and more productive and collaborative projects under the banner of TGWS Community Service

7 External Academic Competition Heritage Quiz-2016 & National Science Day 2017 The District Science Centre, Vellore organized an array of activities like Painting, Essay Writing, Elocution and Quiz Competition for the students in commemoration of The National Science Day-2017 Celebrations from 7th to 10th February, Our Students from Class VII to IX namely Kumaravel R, Esaiamuthu M.K, Jawahar Bose G, Shanmuga Priya S, Gokul Nishen Rayen P and Meena Loshini G participated in the Competition. The Heritage Quiz-2016 organized by the CBSE was hosted in Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Chennai on 2nd February, Students from Classes X and XI participated in the I Round of City Chapter. Rahul K, Gokul Madavan S and Gautam P.A represented the school. Nearly 138 schools participated in the Quiz. Our Students were qualified at the 8th position. G7 Parents Orientation Programme On Stream Selection for Grade 8 ( ) TGWS conducted the parent orientation on 25th February and explained the clear stream segregation in Grade 8 and the streams are CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) and CIE (Cambridge International Examinations). This segregation is done in Grade 8 itself, to prepare our students in a better manner towards CBSE and IGCSE in Grade 9. Grade 8 will prepare the students towards a better cope with the selected curriculum. Stream of curriculum is extremely important at this juncture. This is also important since we will be training the students for Fast Track Programme in Grade 8 depending on the stream Mock Exam & Pre Board Exam for CBSE G9, G10 and G12 The Geekay World School provides holistic education to the students. The major emphasis of continuous comprehensive evaluation at the classes IX and X is based on continuous growth of students, ensuring their intellectual, emotional, physical, cultural and social development. We have also planned Mock Exam and Pre Board Exam to the students and they are exposed to a number of sample papers suggested by the CBSE and papers from other Schools for practice. This gives an insight to the students to get familiar with a number of question papers.

8 Club Fest & Art Expo Middle TGWS Club fest exhibits were attractive and colorful for they had been prepared and designed well by the students with guidance from the teachers on 17 th February The exhibition was held to provide a platform for students to display their talent. Club fest is well integrated into our curriculum so as to develop our students creativity and allow them to express their imagination freely. Our managing director Mr.Vinod Gandhi and Head of school Dr.Praseedha Sreekumar have attended the event and encouraged our students by participating in the activities conducted by the respective club members. Club fest exhibits were attractive and colourful. The models and charts were prepared and designed well by the students with the guidance from the teachers. The exhibition was held to provide a platform for students to display their talent. Parents were also involved in the event and they actively participated. They gave their valuable feedback regarding the work displayed by the students.
