3 A LOOK BACK: District Goals GOAL #1: IMPROVE STUDENT GROWTH & ACHIEVEMENT Objective Improve classroom instruction Raise academic expectations Improve AP Scores Activities - Fully implemented new teacher evaluation system (Danielson s Framework for Teaching) - Provided PD opportunities and support for teachers (workshops, conferences, summer training, etc.) - Developed, monitored, and assessed achievement of Student Growth Objectives (SGOs) - Aligned teacher-assigned grades with student knowledge and skill level - Emphasized critical thinking, analysis, and application in the classrooms and on assessments - Required cumulative and skills-based learning on major assessments - Implemented/mandated MS summer program for students who failed English and/or Math - Utilized test prep materials & strategies in AP classrooms - Required students to sign an AP Contract regarding commitment and expectations - Provided teachers up to 6 hours of out-of-school test prep sessions for their students - Provided teachers with AP training via College Board workshops 3
