9 From the Athletic Director: Redlands High School Terrier Athletics is about students, academics, and athletic excellence. Our athletic program has been established to help your son or daughter develop as a person, as a student, and as an athlete. Our athletic staff is dedicated to this. We are excited about the possibilities of your son or daughter coming to our school and we are prepared to help them develop as a student-athlete at Redlands High School. An aspect for you as parents to consider is that high school athletics is a privilege and not a right. Every public school enrollee has the right to be a student and the responsibilities there of. Athletics however is different. The Supreme Court has ruled that public school athletics is a privilege not a right. Students can gain the opportunity to be involved in athletics and students can lose that opportunity as well. It is essential for your son or daughter to know this. We will hold your child to the highest standards at Redlands High School and they will be the better for it. Jennifer A.
