2 Rita s Italian Ice LN Student-Athlete of the Week Check out their website and menu here: or give them a call at Mercedes Rendell, Track & Field and Nathan Stone, Track & Field MIC Champions Juniors Mercedes Rendell and Nathan Stone turned in some great performances during their last two meets. Both athletes won their respective events at the Charlie Riley Invitational at North Central as well as the MIC Championship at Warren Central. Mercedes won the discus championships while Nathan took the pole vault titles. Great job, Wildcats!

3 Baseball: The Wildcats (10-3, 7-2 MIC) are riding a 7-game winning streak, including a sweep of Carmel (3-2, 5-1) and a big win against LC (4-0) on Friday night in the Victory Field Classic. Dylan Scheid and Maalik Houston took the pitching wins against the Greyhounds, while Garrett Burhenn was unstoppable against the Bears, throwing a complete game shutout with 12 strikeouts. Burhenn, Bryce Dickerson, and Cole Sherman all had multiple hits in the Carmel series, and Sherman had 2 hits and 2 RBI against LC. Dickerson was presented with Indiana National Guard Scholar Award. 5 Boys Golf: The golfers played in the Marion County Championships on Monday at the Fort Golf Course, finishing 8 th in the 16-team field. Jacob Penrose was low man for the Wildcats, shooting an 87. In the tri-meet against HSE and Mt. Vernon, the team shot their lowest score of the season for 9-holes, posting a 165. Lucas Wynne was low man for the team, coming in with a 39. LN will take on state powerhouse Westfield at Wood Wind Golf Course on Tuesday, and then will play in the North Central Invite on Saturday. Picture by Mr. Penrose.

6 Softball: The Wildcats (9-3, 3-1 MIC) went 2-2 last week, beating Chatard (11-1) and Brebeuf (11-4) and taking losses against Carmel (2-5) and Fishers (2-6). Taylor Erschen got the pitching win against Chatard while Leah Richards picked up a win against Brebeuf. Erschen and Raniah Rogers hit home runs this week, while Maddie Howe, Anna Florczak, Grace Zielinski, Ravyn McClaren, and Cierra Taylor were all hot at the plate this week. The Cats will play Westfield at home on Monday, at Pike on Tuesday, and then back at home on Wednesday and Friday for games against Southport and North Central. Pictures courtesy of Jared Rigdon.

7 Girls Tennis: The tennis team went 1-1 last week, losing to a tough Center Grove team and defeating Warren Central, 4-1. All three singles players, Kiley Shaw, Kristen Mouser, and Anslyn Freije, won in straight sets in the Warren match. The team will be busy this week with matches at home against Heritage Christian on Monday and HSE on Tuesday before competing in the MIC Championships on Thursday and Saturday. 8 Track & Field: The boys track and field team competed in the Charlie Riley Invite as well as the MIC Championships. The girls team placed 5 th at MIC, while the boys team placed 6 th. Lawrence North had three conference champions; Mercedes Rendell in the discus, Nathan Stone in the pole vault, and the 4 x 400 relay team of Lauren Gunn, Kennedy Barlow, Mary Watts, and Grace Dean. This relay was on fire Friday night! The girls posted the fastest time in the state with a time of 3: Wow! Both teams are in action this week at LC on Tuesday and then at the Pike Invite on Friday.

11 Unified Track & Field: The unified team competed in the 1 st annual MIC championships last week at Warren Central. Next up for the Wildcats is a big date with the LC Bears on Monday, May 7 th at LN. Great job, Cats!

12 Wildcats Represented at the IndyStar Sports Awards Junior Trinity Brady was nominated for the Comeback Athlete Award, and Alex Welch was nominated for and won the Courage Athlete Award! It was a great night at Butler University s Clowes Memorial Hall, with former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne on hand for the event.
