2 Chris Plumb was named Head Coach/CEO of Carmel Swim Club in July 2006, but has been with the program since As Head Coach/CEO, Chris oversees all aspects of the club, and he coaches High Performance training group. He is a dynamic leader and works tirelessly to push Carmel to be a model club both in the state of Indiana and nationally. Chris s execution of his vision for Carmel Swim Club has pushed them towards recognition as a USA Swimming Gold Medal Club of Excellence in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, and Carmel proudly took 17 athletes to the 2012 Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska as well as 9 athletes in CSC has had multiple USA Swimming National Junior Team Members and two National Team Members (Claire Adams and Amy Bilquist). In the past two years, Carmel won the 2016 Junior National Chamionship, the Carmel girls team won the 2014 Speedo Junior National Team title, multiple swimmers have won 18 & under National Championships, numerous relays have broken National Age Group Records, and individuals have set American and Junior World Records. Chris recently served as the Head Coach for Team USA staff at the 2016 Junior Pan Pacific Championships, and served on staff's for the 2014 Junior Pan Pacific Championships and the 2014 FINA World Championships. Chris is also the Head Coach at Carmel High School. He directed the 2016 Carmel Boys and Girls Swim Teams to IHSAA State Championship Titles. Coach Plumb has been at the helm for the last ten of the Lady Hound s 30 consecutive titles and this was his fifth title for the boys. He was inducted into the 2011 class of honorees in the Indiana Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame. Coach Plumb also devotes his time and energy to both Indiana and USA Swimming supported camps. He succeeds not just in inspiring his swimmers with his character and coaching, but also through his actions. Chris swam on relays at both the 2010 SCY and 2011 LCM USA Swimming National Championships. He embodies the mandate he gives to all Carmel swimmers: do not be afraid to dream and work towards the highest level of our sport. He works tirelessly to push Carmel Swim Club to the pinnacle of success and the way he has put his dreams and vision into reality have made this club a model for programs across the nation.

3 Jon Howell, who was named the Emory University Swimming & Diving Head Coach in the summer of 1998, has transformed the program into a national powerhouse in his 18 years with the University. Since taking over the reins, Howell has guided the Eagles to a combined 35 top-10 finishes at the NCAA Division III men's and women's National Championships and 36 conference team titles. This past season in , he oversaw the women s team to their seventh consecutive NCAA Division III National Championship and ninth overall in program history while the men s team finished in the top-three at the NCAA Division III Championships for the 13th-time in program history, placing third. The women s title also marked the 16th-straight season of finishing fourth or better at nationals with the men posting their 17th consecutive top-5 finish. At the 2016 National Championships, Howell led the Emory women to six event National Championships, tying a school record for a single NCAA Championship meet, including a perfect fivefor-five in relay events for the first time in school history, two school records and one Division III national record. He was named the College Swimming Coaches Association of America Women s National Coach of the Year for the fifth time in his career, also winning the award in 2002, 2005, 2009 and During his tutelage, Howell has seen 30 individual and 24 relay national champions and an incredible 1,038 All-America certificates awarded to Emory swimmers. He has coached two National Division III Swimmer of the Year winners in Liz Horvat in 2009 and Andrew Wilson in 2015, 17 conference swimmers of the year, seven conference divers of the year, 16 conference rookies of the year and has led both the men's and women's teams to University Athletic Association titles in each of his 18 seasons with the team. In addition to the conference titles, Howell and his assistants have been honored nine times as the UAA Coaching Staff of the Year, most recently in Howell was also the 2015 recipient of the National College and Scholastic Swimming Trophy, one of the five major awards presented annually by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. It is awarded to an individual or organization for having contributed in an outstanding way to swimming as a competitive sport and as a healthful recreational activity at schools and colleges and is the highest award of its kind in the United States.

4 Alan Boelk-Since taking over the UW-Stevens Point program in 1997, head coach Al Boelk has led the Pointers to 24 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) titles establishing the program among the best in the nation. In , the men s swimming & diving program captured its 17th consecutive conference crown. The title was also the 18th in 19 seasons for UW-Stevens Point, dating back to Boelk's first season of During his tenure, he has also guided the women's program to six team titles in the WIAC. Boelk is a 16-time WIAC Coach of the Year, having earned the honor 11 times for the men and five times for the women. Al has coached two NCAA Division III national champion relays that both set Division III records, while also coaching his brother, Randy, to a national title in the 200 backstroke in Boelk has coached the Pointer men to seven top-10 national finishes, including a fourth-place performance in He also guided the women s team to their three highest-ever national finishes, including an eighth-place finish in 2001 and a 10th-place effort in Overall, Boelk has coached 37 men s All-Americans and 11 honorable mention men s All-Americans. He has trained 21 women s All-Americans and 12 honorable mention women s All-Americans. Boelk has guided 62 All-American men s swims, including 25 All-American relays and has coached 25 All-American women s swims, including 18 All-American relays. A native of Embarrass, Minn., Boelk came to UW-Stevens Point from the University of Minnesota, where he was a four-year letterwinner on the Gopher swim team before joining the coaching staff, where he served as an assistant coach for the Gopher men s swimming and diving team and as the head coach for the distance competitors. He was also an assistant coach for the Twin Cities Swim Team (USS) for over two years. Boelk made his mark in the high school ranks when he became the first swimmer in nearly 40 years from Northern Minnesota to win a high school state championship (1991). He earned his bachelor s degree from Minnesota in kinesiology with a coaching minor and has a master s degree in exercise physiology. Boelk has also published research regarding Power Generation in Female Swimmers.

5 Joel Shinofield, a former coach at Washington & Lee University for nine years is now the executive director of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. He is not new to the administration at the CSCAA. He's had been on the board and served as secretary, also served as president of the Bluegrass Mountain Conference for six years. Joel guided W&L to a pair of Top 20 finishes at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, while also coaching 19 Generals to multiple All-Bluegrass Mountain Conference honors and eight W&L swimmers to multiple All-America accolades. Shinofield came to W&L from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., where he served as the head women's water polo coach. He also served as the executive director/head coach of the Richfield Swim Club/Minnesota Federated Swimming since In addition, he has also held the post of volunteer assistant women's swimming coach at the University of Minnesota. In one season at Macalester, Shinofield earned region coach of the year honors while leading the Scots' women's water polo team to a sixth place finish at the Collegiate III National Championships. At the Richfield Swim Club, Shinofield was responsible for developing a competitive USA swimming team for youth from the novice to national level. He helped direct 15 swimmers to national-level competitions and increased club membership from 35 to over 150 members. A volunteer assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Minnesota, Shinofield aided the Gophers' breaststrokers and butterflyers to the 2002 and 2003 NCAA Division I finals. Active in the sport, Shinofield has also held head-coaching positions with Team Minnesota and Minneapolis Washburn High School. He currently serves as Secretary of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America's Executive Board. Prior to moving to Lexington, he was the President of the Minnesota Chapter of the American Swimming Coaches Association and was a member of the board for Minnesota Swimming, Inc. In the summer of 2003, Shinofield was presented with the Conoco/Phillips USA Swimming Service Award for his volunteer work in the sport.

6 Chris Maiello enters his fourth season as UND's Head Swimming and Diving Coach and looks to continue the steady climb upwards in the Western Athletic Conference. Maiello's impressive background of success at the collegiate and international levels is paying dividends at UND. All told, UND has set 22 new program records in his tenure with five individual and a relay conference championship, the firsts in school history at the Western Athletic Conference championships. North Dakota has a combined dual meet record of (.602) over the past three seasons, trending upward after a (.322) season in UND also improved upon its final standing in the WAC meet on both the men's and women's side in UND has succeeded out of the pool as well, with the women's combined cumulative grade point average at 3.5 while the men are at 3.4. UND has qualified for the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Academic All-America Team in every semester Maiello has been on campus. The UND women's program is the reigning back-to-back Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Cup champions at the school as well. Maiello came to UND after spending the previous five seasons as the assistant men s swimming coach and recruiting coordinator at the United States Naval Academy. His list of accomplishments include helping lead the Midshipmen to a record with 11 individual and seven relay conference champions. In his tenure at Navy, Maiello mentored 29 swimmers with all-time top ten performances at the academy with five of his athletes swimming at the 2012 Olympics Trials meet. He was also the head swimming coach for the Navy USA swimming team and the U.S. National Military team, where he's trained and coached athletes at the 2010 World Military Swimming Championships in Warendorf, Germany and the 2011 World Military Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
