1 1 No.32-20/2014-NDM-I Ministry of Home Affairs (Disaster Management Division) SITREP NO-129/ hours Dated, the 7 th Oct, 2014 Subject: SOUTHWEST MONSOON-2014: DAILY FLOOD SITUATION REPORT SUMMARY OF IMPORTANT EVENTS AS ON RAINFALL/FLOOD SITUATION IN THE COUNTRY The southwest monsoon has further withdrawn from remaining parts of Uttar Pradesh, some parts of Bihar and some more parts of Madhya Pradesh. The withdrawal line of southwest monsoon passes through Lat.27.0 N/Long.87.0 E, Forbesganj, Gaya, Rewa, Hoshangabad, Malegaon, Dahanu, Lat.20.0 N/Long.70.0 E and Lat.20.0 N/Long.60.0 E. Indian Meteorological Department (Major features of weather forecast) Rain/thundershowers has occurred at most places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands; at many places over Interior Karnataka and Kerala; at a few places over Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra, Tamilnadu and at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Konkan & Goa and Coastal Karnataka. Weather remained dry over rest of the country. The amounts of rainfall (2 cm or more) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Shimoga 9; Port Blair 4; Mandla, Raichur, Agumbe, Bangaluru, Palakkad, Car Nicobar 3 each; Raisen, Gulbarga, Vengurla, Hassan, Maya Bandar and Long Island 2 each. CENTRAL WATER COMMISSION (daily water levels and forecasts for level forecast sites) According to the Central Water Commission (CWC) report dated ,there isnoflood situation sitein the country. DEPLOYMENT OF NATIONAL DISASTER RESPONSE FORCE (NDRF) 24teams personnel consisting of total 957 personnel of NDRF have been deployed in Assam (3), A&N (1), A.P (1), Bihar-(1), Delhi (1), J&K (2), Karnataka- (1), Mizoram- (1), Maharashtra (3), Odisha-(1), Rajasthan (1), Tripura (1), Tamilnadu (1), Uttarakhand- (1), UP -(3) & West Bengal- (2). Squally winds speed reaching kmph would prevail over and around Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea. Isolated heavy rainfall would occur over South Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Tamilnadu & Pudducherry. 08 October (Day 2): Heavy to very heavy rainfall would occur at a few places with isolated extremely heavy falls over Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Gale force winds speed reaching km ph would prevail over and around Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea. Isolated heavy rainfall would occur over South interior Karnataka, Kerala and Tamilnadu & Pudducherry. 09 October (Day 3): Heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over Andaman & Nicobar Isl ands. Gale force winds speed reaching kmph would prevail over and around Andaman Islands and squally winds speed reaching kmph over Nicobar Islands. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea. Weather Outlook for subsequent 4 days Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places over Odisha and Jharkhand and at a few places over rest east India from 12th October. Rain/thundershower would occur at a few places over south peninsular India and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Rain/thundershowers would occur at isolated places over rest peninsular India and northeastern states. Weather would be mainly dry over rest of the country. CENTRAL WATER COMMISSION (daily water levels and forecasts for level at forecast sites) According to the Central Water Commission (CWC) report dated , there isno unprecedented/high/moderate flood situation sitein the country. DEPLOYMENT OF NATIONAL DISASTER RESPONSE FORCE ON 7 th Oct, 2014 ASSAM (03) i. In (IWT Guwahati), Kamrup, Assam, 01 team consisting of 40 personnel of 1 st Bn NDRF has been deployed during Monsoon season. ii. In (Tinsukia), Assam, 01 team consisting of 43 personnel of 1 st Bn NDRF has been deployed for emergency response. iii. In (Dhemaji), Assam, 01 team consisting of 42 personnel of 1st Bn NDRF has been deployed for Monsoon season. ANDAMAN & NICOBAR (1) i. In Andaman & Nicobar Islands, 01 team consisting of 46 personnel of 4 th Bn NDRF has been deployed for emergent response. ANDHRA PRADESH (1) i. In (Hyderabad), Andhra Pradesh, 01 team consisting of 44 personnel of 10 th Bn NDRF has been deployed for emergency response.

3 ii. 3 BIHAR (1) i. In (Supoul) Bihar 01 team consisting of 41 personnel of 9 th Bn NDRF has been deployed Supaul on permanent basis w.e.f DELHI (1) i. In (Dwarka) Delhi, 01 team consisting of 33 personnel of 8 th Bn NDRF has been deployed on permanent basis. JAMMU & KASHMIR (2) i) In Kashmir Valley/Srinagar (J&K), 02 teams consisting of 98 personnel of 7 th Bn NDRF have been deployed at Srinagar in flood affected areas of J&K. KARNATAKA (1) i. In (Bangalore) Karnataka, 01 team consisting of 53 personnel of 5 th Bn NDRF has been deployed for emergent response. MIZORAM (1) i. In (Aizawl) Mizoram, 01 team consisting of 41 personnel of 1 st Bn NDRF has been deployed for emergent response. MAHARASHTRA (3) i. In (Mumbai) Maharashtra, 03 teams consisting of 90 personnel of 5 th Bn NDRF have been in c/w any emergency. ODISHA(1) i. In (Balasore) Odisha, 01 team consisting of 35 personnel of 3 rd Bn NDRF has been deployed at Balasore in c/w preposition deployment during monsoon season. RAJASTHAN (1) i. In (Nareli, Distt. Ajmer), Rajasthan 01 teams consisting of 49 personnel of 6 th Bn NDRF has been deployed for emergent response. TRIPURA (1) i. In (Agartala) Tripura, 01 team consisting of 42 personnel of 1 st Bn NDRF has been deployed for emergent response. TAMILNADU (1) i. In (Adiyar) Chennai, Tamilnadu, 01 team consisting of 44 personnel of 4 th Bn NDRF has been deployed on permanent basis since for emergency response. UTTARAKHAND (1) i. In (Haridwar), Uttarakhand 01 team consisting of 13 personnel of 8 th Bn NDRF has been deployed for emergency response since UTTAR PRADESH (3) i. In (Varanasi), UP, 02 teams consisting of 82 personnel of 9 th Bn NDRF has been deployed at Varanasi on permanent basis for emergency response. ii. In (Gorakhpur) U.P, 01 team consisting of 40 personnel of 9 th Bn NDRF has been deployed in c/w preposition deployment during Monsoon season. WEST BENGAL (2) i. In (Ghatal block, Kharagpur,WestMidnipore) West Bengal, 01 team consisting of 38 personnel of 2 nd Bn NDRF has been deployed for pre-monsoon deployment. ii. In (Rajarhat, Kolkata), West Bengal, 01 team consisting of 43 personnel of 2 nd Bn NDRF has been deployed for emergency response during Durgapuja festival. LOGISTIC SUPPORT PROVIDED BY THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE. --

4 4 FLOOD SITUATION Uttarakhand All major rivers of the State are flowing below the danger level. Number of human lives lost since 15 th June 2014 till date is 66. Bihar 20 districts, 1728 villages and 26 Lakhs population have been affected in this flood. So far 112lives have been lost and people have been evacuated. 109 relief camps have been opened and people have been accommodated. Necessary relief measures are being taken.
