3 Ray-Pec Activities strives to build a foundation laid in an atmosphere where diversity is valued, sportsmanship and fair play are expected, and excellence and hard work are rewarded. Providing these opportunities for our students remains the highest priority for our extra-curricular programs. Nearly 1000 students were involved in one or more MSHSAA sponsored activities throughout the school year. In addition, membership in our student clubs was over 600. 4 Program Highlights Band set a record for number of positions taken for All-District Band with 59 Three students selected to All State Band Six students selected for All-District Choir and three selected for the All- District Women s Honors Choir; One student selected for the ACDA National Honor Choir State Champion in Readers Theatre for the 8 th year RP theatre students won the prestigious KC Cappies Awards for best supporting actress and actor in a play, best comic actor in a play and best sound design for a play for Cash on Delivery. RP theatre students were nominated in 10 categories at the Blue Star awards Our HS musical production was a finalist for a state record for the 9 th year in a row

5 Program Highlights Cross Country - 3 All State runners; Softball 1 All State player; Football 3 All State players Cheerleading placed 2 nd at State with one All State Cheerleader Boy s Track won the district championships for the first time in school history Girl s track placed 2 nd in districts Track earned All-State medals in six events and had one State Champion 15 teams qualified for the MSHSAA Outstanding Academic Achievement Award with a team GPA between student-athletes signed letters of intent to continue their athletic careers at the college level The Lady Panthers Special Olympics girl s basketball team won the state championship for the 2 nd year The Panthers Special Olympics Boy s basketball team placed 3 rd in the state Boy s Basketball hosted their 1 st annual Gentleman of the Court

6 Community Awareness - $37, 815 donated for cancer Boys Soccer raised and donated $2,120 to Cancer Action Volleyball Dig for the Cure raised and donated over $5,000 to two Ray-Pec families fighting cancer Football Cancer Awareness Game vs. Lee s Summit raised and donated over $17,000 for the Stephanie Vest Foundation Baseball in partnership with LSW raised $13, 695 for H8 Cancer

7 Program Highlights FACILITIES This year with the construction we were not able to host as many district events, but we will be hosting several events starting this fall. The new facilities at the high school will be very nice, with a new band, choir, and drama area, as well as a third gym added to the high school and a new training room. This year will mark the first year of a second middle school coming on board as well. This increase will add more venues for competitions at the Middle School level, however, at the High School level the demands will still be high. FUNDING Our activity fees have helped to generate some revenue along with our gate fees to help off-set some of the costs and helps us to offer as much for our students as possible. This year marked the first year of giving an activity pass to all participants paying an activity fee. With the addition of a new middle school, it will increase our operating budget for this school year and we will have some needs in the near future that will need to be met. COMMUNICATION This year will mark the first year of bringing on a new middle school into competitions. We will be participating in the same amount of events as we have in the past. I believe this brings in a new opportunity for even more participation for both students and parents in our community, as well as seeing an increase in future high school participation in years to come.

8 Program Highlights PARTICIPATION We saw a participation increase in extracurricular activities in our freshman and sophomore classes over last year, including an increase in students competing in 2 or more sports/activities for sophomores and juniors. Our annual Physical Night allowed 377 high school and middle school students to obtain a current physical on file for the upcoming school year. Community support from local doctors, nurses and EMTs helped make the night a success. We continue to see that GPA s are higher for involved students as compared to those who do not participate.

11 Club Membership Clubs are Co-Curricular, Extra-Curricular, and Non-Curricular. Over 600 students are members of one of our 23 clubs, including Student Senate, Robotics, and new this year the Technology Student Association.. Our students drive to be involved led them to initiate the formation of two new groups this year, the Ping Pong Club and the Bowling Club. The bowling club competed in the State competition this year. Student Club members this year raised over $16,000 for Special Olympics, and were the top fundraising school in the state of Missouri! They also raised over $500 for Muscular Dystrophy, raised over $3,500 for scholarships and were responsible for the donation of 250 pints of blood. Over 11 clubs sponsored local families as part of the adopt a family program, raising over $5,500 to assist local families in need of Christmas assistance.
