The candidate would be required to work for the Affordable Healthcare programme of CSIR. The candidate is also expected to take a lead role in the upkeep of existing facilities such as 500 and 300 MHz NMR, highresolution mass, CHN analyzer etc. 4 CSTD 4 Chemistry from a recognized institute/univer sity, followed by Ph. D in Chemistry/Materials Science/Materials Engg. with 1 year postdoctoral experience. Experience in Photophysics/ /Photochemistry/ Fast reaction kinetics/ Design/ Fabrication of organobased devices/polymeric materials and devices. to set up and take care of state of the art facilities: for conducting photophysics/ photochemistry experiments for successful implementation of the Sustainable energy programme of CSIR.

Experience in Photophysics/ Photobiology/Photochemis try / Supramolecular Systems/ Polymer synthesis/ Fabrication of organo based devices or related areas.. to set up facilities required for successful implementation of the Sustainable Energy/Affordable Health and Smart and Functional Materialsprogrammes of CSIR. 6 CSTD 6 (OBC) Chemistry from a recognized institute/univer sity, followed by Ph. D in Chemistry with 1 year postdoctoral experience. Experience in synthesis of functional molecules and materials, characterization using techniques such as AFM/STM, confocal microscopy and molecular self-assembly approach to smart materials, photofunctional materials etc. to set up all facilities required for successful implementation of the Smart and Functional Materials programme of CSIR. 7 BTD 1 (OBC) Microbiology from any recognized institute/university, followed by PhD in Microbiology with 1 year postdoctoral experience. Post-doctoral research experience in the area of microbial taxonomy/ evolutionary microbiology and should have worked on the isolation and handling of bacteria, actinomycetes, fungi, etc; studies on microbial biodiversity. to build up the NIIST Culture Collection independently, including isolation, identification, characterization and maintenance of strains; should be capable of leading independent research in the areas of microbial diversity, PGPR, bioactives, etc 8 BTD 2 ( SC) Molecular Biology/ Genetics/Genomics/ Biomedical genetics from any recognized institute/ university followed by PhD in Molecular Biology/ Genetics/ Biotechnology with 1 year postdoctoral experience. Post-doctoral research experience in the area of fungal/bacterial molecular biology/genetics. Candidate should possess sound knowledge on use/handling of molecular tools/techniques such as PCR, hybridization, sitedirected mutagenesis, metagenomics, molecular evolution, etc. to take the lead role in planning/executing genetic modification of fungal and bacterial strains for developing hyperproducers/developing desirable properties aspects/studies in the ongoing programs in the areas of bioprocess and product development, health and genomics, etc;

Tech./B.E. in Chemical Engineering/Technology from any recognized institute/university, followed by M Tech in Biochemical Engineering/Chemical Engineering with 2 years experience Research experience in the area of bioprocess development, modeling, bioreactor operation, etc. to take the lead role in planning/executing biochemical engineering aspects/studies in the ongoing programs in the areas of bioprocess and product development on bioethanol from lignocellulosic biomass; contribute to basic engineering input for bioreactor design, operation, process flow and mass balance, etc for bioprocesses. 10 BTD 4 Life Sciences from any recognized institute/university, followed by. Ph. D in Biotechnology with 1 year postdoctoral experience. Post-doctoral research experience in the area of biofuels- pre-treatment/ hydrolysis/fermentation for the production of bioethanol from lignocellulosic feedstocks; should possess research experience on multiple topics such as industrial enzymes, biocontrol agents, bioconversion of biomass, bioethanol, protein purification, etc. Candidate should also possess sound knowledge on use/handling of analytical tools such as GC, HPLC, etc. to take the lead role in the area of biofuels program, in particular on lignocellulosic bioethanol; research on bioprocess and product development, especially for industrial enzymes, bioethanol, biopolymers, etc. 11 MMD3 ( PWD) (Ortho paedica lly handic apped) (OH) for UR Physics from a recognized institute/ university, followed by Ph. D in Physics / Materials Science with 1 year postdoctoral experience R&D experience in the electronic materials and /or optoelectronic materials for energy related applications. Experience in design and fabrication of devices will be an additional qualification. to design and fabricate devices using low K dielectric ceramics; energy related devices etc.

D in Physics/ Materials Science with 1 year postdoctoral experience Proven R&D experience related to magnetic/ superconducting/ optoelectronic materials/ functional materials. to lead a team of researchers engaged in basic and applied areas of magnetism/ superconductivity/energy. To lead projects in the above areas from basic science to application devices. 13 MMD 5 1 Post Physics/ Chemistry/ Materials Science from a recognized institute/univer sity, followed by Ph. D in Physics / Chemistry/ Materials Science with 1 year postdoctoral experience Or M. Tech in Materials Science with 2 years experience. Proven hands on experience in working with Electron Microscopy- SEM, TEM with EDS, and XRD. Should have experience in various sample preparation techniques and capable of structural and microscopic characterization of materials independently related to metals, polymers/organic and ceramics. to carry out structural and microstructural characterization of the metals/composites/ceramics/f unctional materials related to interdisciplinary projects and to maintain the above infrastructural facilities. 14 MMD 6 ( ST) Backlo g Chemistry/ Materials Science from a recognized institute/univer sity, followed by Ph. D in the relevant field with 1 year postdoctoral experience R & D experience in the area of clay/polymer/ ceramic/composites for building components and processes for surface modification through coatings. to associate with the societal materials programme of the Institute, related to building materials/ societal materials. The job also demands frequent travel and interaction with industry. 15 PEET 1 Analytical Chemistry from a recognized institute/ university, followed by Ph. D in Analytical Chemistry with 1 year postdoctoral experience. Research Experience in Persistent Organic Pollutants and related research; analytical skill in handling GC-MS and other analytical instruments. The candidate is expected to be proficient in all analytical work including all the related instruments. Plan, organize and execute all environmental related monitoring and laboratory activities. 16 PEET 2 ( SC) Computer Science / MCA from a recognized institute/ university, Experience in Computer Programming The core expertise required is in the field of Computer Science, the scientist will be working at the interface of

Tech /B.E in Computer Science/ Computer engineering from a recognized Institute/ University followed by M. Tech / M.E in Computer Science/ Computer engineering with 2 years experience Computer Science and other disciplines in a truly interdisciplinary manner in any of the mission projects of CSIR like bioactives, environment, energy and materials. 17 KRC 1 (OBC ) First class B. Tech /B.E in Computer / information technology from a recognized Institute/ University followed by M. Tech / M.E in Computer/ information technology with 2 years experience Experience in Networking, Application Development, Implementation. Thorough Knowledge of industry standard networking components and technologies (Routers, Switches, Cabling systems, Firewalls, Antivirus, IDS/IPS, VPN appliances, net work security appliances, wireless networking equipment, Video Conferencing etc). is essential. Must have knowledge in hardware, software, Linux, Windows2003 server, Active directory and related IT enabled services. To lead a team engaged in ICT infrastructure development/ installation, up gradation, configuration, maintenance and management of network systems. AGE LIMIT AND RELAXATIONS: 1. The date for determining the upper age limit, qualifications and or experience shall be the closing date prescribed for receipt of application form ie Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in the case of SC/ST and by 3 years in the case of OBC candidates for the posts which are reserved for the respective categories, Relaxation of upper age limit for Persons With Disabilities, Ex-servicemen and meritorious sportspersons will be applicable as per GOI rules. The SC/ST/OBC candidates who apply against unreserved vacancies will not be eligible for age relaxation.

8 3. Orthopaedically handicapped (OH) are those who have a minimum of 40% of physical defect or deformity which causes an interference with the normal functioning of the bones, muscles and joints. 4. Relaxation in age limit up to 5 years may be allowed to Council/Govt./Autonomous Bodies/Public Sector employees in accordance with the instructions and orders issued by the Govt. of India from time to time in this regard. 5.
