30 What is Advanced Placement? an established international enrichment program allows students to complete and meet first year university level expectations while still in high school Students who complete an AP course and/or exam with a score of 4 or 5 may qualify for a transfer/equivalent credit upon entering university

37 The Workplace Pathway Many entry-level job opportunities for students who have completed their OSSD and have workplace experience Students who are fast tracking into the workforce/community directly after high school should: work with Guidance, Co-op, Student Success Teacher, Classroom Teachers, Personalized Alternative Education Teachers, Employment Centers to review their Individual Pathways Plan to research and review workplace opportunities Any experiential education is an advantage

38 Standard provincial report card: Documents achievement in every subject - percentage grade Comments on what has been learned, strengths and next steps in each subject area Separates reporting section for attendance and evaluating the student s learning skills (i.e. self-regulation, initiative, responsibility, etc.) Summarizes graduation requirements including status of Gr. 10 Literacy test and community involvement

Transfer form completed by Friday, Feb. 2 nd Pick courses for your current area school They will be transferred to Westmount upon approval

44 Live in the WCI area but not attending a YRDSB school Pick-up a registration package from the Westmount Main Office starting Monday, Jan. 15 Registration and Course selection due to the Westmount Main Office Friday, Feb. 2nd Office hours are 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Your courses will be inputted manually and not through Career Cruising.
