8 P AGE 8 ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS I m taking a class in summer school. Will I need to change my fall schedule? Possibly. Students who successfully complete a prerequisite course in summer school will have their schedules updated at the completion of summer school. Students taking summer school at another campus will have an opportunity to request a change in their fall schedule during the week of summer registration. Can I request a course change in my schedule? Students and parents are asked to make course selections carefully. The requests you submit are considered a contract with the school. Changes will be made on a limited basis during the registration process in August-September. Priority will be given to student schedules with incorrect courses, duplicate courses, and enrollment in an incorrect number of credits. Preference changes of period or teacher cannot be accommodated. Is there still time to sign up for summer school? Although many classes are full, it may not be too late to sign up and a limited number of classes may be available. Students and parents are encouraged to stop by the summer school table after your conference. Do I have to participate in the summer camp program if I m going to try out for a team sport? Although summer camps are not required, they are strongly recommended for students interested in team sports. Students and parents are encouraged to stop by the summer camp table after your conference. When will I try out for my sport? Try-out dates vary depending on the season of the sport. Students and parents are encouraged to stop by the summer camp table after your conference. For questions about the Irvine High School Athletic Program, Barbie Hinman, athletic secretary can be reached at 949/ or bhinman@iusd.org. When will I get my schedule? Registration packets will be available in late July or early August. Students must report on their assigned day at the end of August to turn in all required information and forms and to have their I.D. photo taken, obtain their locker assignment and a list of the courses in which they are enrolled.. Families are strongly discouraged from planning a vacation during the week prior to school beginning. When will school begin? September 2nd SUMMER READING LIST: I.H.S.
