There were 1839 students and over 100 chapters in attendance. The competition was excellent and it was great for our students to see the level of competitor s and programs around the state. The following students received honors. Levi Duwenhoegger, Cole Haugen, and Peter Rohr - School Based Enterprise Gold Level Certification Cole Haugen Advanced Level Interview Finalist 10 th Place Finish Justin Schmitz Marketing Management Individual Role Play Finalist 7 th Place Finish Cole Haugen and Eli Heckert Sports & Entertainment Team Role Play Finalist 1 st Place Finish We were shocked and very excited to have a group take first place. This might not happen again in the next ten years so we are enjoying the moment. Mrs. Watt s was able to record this live video of Eli and Cole taking first place at State. The Alexandria recognized as the DECA Chapter in the our participation by Chapter was always second fastest growing State. We have increased 233% in our second year.

2 Levi, Cole, Peter, and Eli will all be attending the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, FL. The following students were all qualified from districts and attend the State Career Development Conference. The team will graduate many members at the end of this school year. This year s seniors include: Carl Branch, Eric Branch, Lucas Brito, Katie Gieseke, Tyler Kay, Mitch Maday, Jana Roste, Halley Score, Dalton Struck and Cody Weisel. These students have provided excellent leadership and have been an integral part of the team over all four of their high school years. We wish them all the best in their future pursuits. 9th-12th graders from AAHS- Matthew Bittmann, Chad Blank, Carl Branch, Eric Branch, Halley Score, Kim Snell, Luke Tollefson, Cody Weisel, and Jake Wheeler represented the AAHS Math League team at the Members from the AAHS Math League team traveled to St. Paul on Monday March 9, 2015 to compete in the state tournament. While the team did not place in the top 10 in the state, they were honored to be representing Alexandria in the tournament. Alexandria s top individual scorer at the tournament was Matthew Bittmann. Matthew earned 11 out of 14 total possible points. Alexandria earned a trip to the state tournament by winning the West Central division title in February.

3 March is National Athletic Training Month Athletic Trainers are healthcare professionals who provide many services including: Injury prevention, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries. Paul Westerberg is the AAHS athletic trainer provided by Heartland Orthopedic Specialists. He has been the AT here for 12 years. If you have any questions or are interested in athletic training feel free to contact Paul! BOYS GOLF All 9 th -12 th grade Boys interested in going out for V/JV Golf this spring need to attend one of the meetings March 16 th, 17 th, or 18 th. YOU only need to attend one of these meetings. The meetings will be held in room D144 at AAHS. The meetings will start at 3:15 and go for about 45 minutes. Have your fees taken care of and bring the card with you to the meeting. GIRLS GOLF There will be a player/parent meeting for all high school girls golfers on Monday March 16 th at 5:30 pm in Room A122. Please take care of all forms and fees prior to this meeting. If any athletes have questions, please see Coach Zupfer at AAHS. BOYS TENNIS The weather will determine if we are inside in the gym or out on the courts. This is an outdoor schedule: Monday March 23rd: Opening Day. Practice 3:20 to 5:20, weight room till 5:50 pm. Tuesday March 24th: Practice 3:20 to 5:00, Parent / Player meeting after practice in AAHS Wellness Classroom (D144) Wednesday March 25th: Same as Monday the 23rd. Thursday March 26th: Practice 3:20 to 5:00. Friday March 27th: Same as Monday the 23rd. Monday March 30th: Same as Monday the 23rd Tuesday March 31st: Same as Thursday the 26th. Wednesday April 1st: Same as Monday the 23rd. Thursday April 2nd: Home vs. Monticello at 4:00 pm, Players report to courts by 3:15 pm. Friday April 3rd: Same as Monday the 23rd Monday April 6th: Same as Monday the 23rd Tuesday April 7th: Home vs. Fergus Falls at 4:30 pm, Players report to courts by 3:40 pm. Wednesday April 8th: Same as Monday the 23rd Thursday April 9th: Home vs. Willmar at 4:30 pm, Players report to courts by 3:40 pm. Friday April 10th: Same as Monday the 23rd. 4 This is an indoor schedule for the first week. Monday March 23rd: Opening Day, Practice in gym from 3:20 to 5:20 pm, weight room till 5:50 pm. Tuesday March 24th: Parent / Player meeting in D144 at 4:45 pm. Practice in gym from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Wednesday March 25th: Same as Monday the 23rd. Thursday March 26th: No gym space available, Team will meet in the Locker room after school, 3:20 pm. Friday March 27th: Same as Monday the 23rd. Saturday March 28th: Practice in the gym 9:00 to 10:30 am. STUDENTS AND PARENTS Any AAHS student who is currently failing a class, will not be allowed to miss school to attend state tournament games.
