1 KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA, NAVAL BASE VIJAYANARAYANAM DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED FOR CLASS I REGISTRATION Attested copies of the following documents would be required to be submitted along with the application form for registration. CHILDREN OF ALL CATEGORIES Certificate of proof of age in the form of a birth certificate issued by the authority competent to register births. This will include certificates from Notified Area Council / Municipality / Municipal Corporation extract about the date of birth from records of Village Panchayat, Military Hospital and service records of Defence personnel or Affidavit. Proof of Residence. Proof of blood group SC/ST/OBC NON CREAMY(RESIDENCE WITHIN 8KM RADIUS)/EWS CHILDREN A certificate that the child belongs to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/EWS/OBC(Non-Creamy Layer)/BPL/Disabled, wherever applicable, issued by the competent authority in concerned State Government/Union Government. The certificate in respect of either of the parents may be accepted initially for the purpose of admission, if this certificate is not available for the child. However, the certificate in respect of the child has to be submitted within a period of 3 month from the date of admission PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED CHILDREN. A certificate from the civil surgeon/rehabilitation centre or any other competent authority defined by the Government of India O.M. No /5/88/Estt.(sct) dated certifying the child to be handicapped, wherever applicable. In case, where the handicap of the child can be visually seen by the Principal, the child may be accepted as handicapped even without a certificate. However, the parent may be advised to obtain the relevant certificate from the competent authority and submit the same to the school. GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES& EX- SERVICEMEN A service certificate showing the number of transfers during the preceding 7 years duly signed and stamped by the head of office bearing the name, designation and other relevant particulars in block letters. A certificate of retirement for uniformed Defence employees. NOTE: a) Mere registration will not confer a right to admission. b) Incomplete application forms shall normally be rejected. c) Admission secured on the basis of any wrong certificate shall be cancelled by the Principal forthwith and no appeal against such action of the Principal shall be entertained d) When a child is registered for admission in class I in a Kendriya Vidyalaya but, before the declaration of the selection list, his parent is transferred to another station, the child should be deemed to have been registered for admission in the Kendriya Vidyalaya at the station of posting even if the last date of registration at that place has expired. The registration form in original is transferred to the Kendriya Vidyalaya of new place of posting and a photo copy of the same be retained in the school where the child was initially registered. (3) Firstly, admission for class I was taken up. There were total 81 registrations out of which 03 were rejected due to under age. (4) From the remaining 78, two were further segregated being KVS ward and single girl child. (5) As per RTE seats ( 15%) for Scheduled Caste and 06 seats (7.5%) for Scheduled Tribe were kept aside as reserved for SC and ST (6) There were a total of 16 registration amongst Scheduled Caste out of which 12 were from the clause of within eight kilometers radius of the Vidyalaya (7) These 12 children were automatically selected for provisional admission to class I under SC quota and the remaining four un successful candidates were grouped up as per their category (8) Since there were no Scheduled Tribe registration as on date these 6 seats are kept reserved. (9) Further two more seats ( One in each section) are kept reserved for Economically Weaker Section as per RTE-2009 Act.

59 (10) Amongst the remaining 64 registrations, 22 Children from wards of Category I,II,III and IV were fully accommodated ( Cat I-15, Cat II-01, Cat III-04 & Cat IV -02). (b) All Scheduled Caste, wards will form the first group. (c) All Scheduled Tribe, wards will form the second group. (d) All economically weaker section, wards will form the third group. (e) All the others registered and eligible for admission including the disabled children if any, shall form the last group. (f) To give admission to 25% of total seats, 12 students shall be selected from the first group, 06 from the second group and 01 from the third group. All the unsuccessful candidates of group I,II, and III shall be pooled up along with the already identified group IV. (g) In group IV, the admission shall be granted as per the category of the parents and if there is a tie it shall be decided by draw of lot. (h) Due reservations shall be maintained for all notified categories. (i) Two single girl children per section and one child from the disabled category shall be admitted over and above the class strength. (j) In all it shall be ensured that the class strength per section shall be maintained at 41. (k) A committee shall be formed to organize and supervise the draw of lots with the concurrence of the Chairman, VMC (l) The draw of lot shall be held at least one week prior to the commencement of admission.
