10 How many End of Year Tests Do I Have to Take? Seven What Scores on the EOY Tests Do I Need to Earn to Graduate from High School? You Need 18 Points Total on the Seven Tests AND Enough Points Earned in Each Subject Area! Students will need minimum of 4 total points on the Two English Tests (i. e. Combined total of 4 points for your EOY tests taken for 9 th grade Eng. and 10 th grade Eng.) Students will need minimum of 4 total points on the Two Math Tests Students will need minimum 6 total points on the three remaining tests in Social Studies and Science Students will need 4 extra points from any category

14 New Honors Diploma Options The State of Ohio has developed new alternative Honors Diploma Options. In addition to the traditional Academic Diploma with Honors, students have the option of obtaining the following new options: Career Tech Honors Diploma STEM Honors Diploma Arts Honors Diploma Social Science and Civic Engagement Honors Diploma For specific requirements go to Requirements/Honors-Diplomas

17 Students receive materials for Registration during school- 3/20/2018 Students fill out Registration forms with their parents by 3/26/2018 Each student needs to register for 7 bells! 1 English (1) 1 Math (1) 1 Social Studies (1) 1 Science (1) 3 Electives (should include Health and PE if student still needs them)

18 Additional classes to consider PE (traditional, summer, no credit sport exemption) Fill out parent permission exemption form Play 2 sports, marching band, cheerleading or JROTC Turn in coach-signed verification forms after each season Band Art Choir Foreign Language (need to be enrolled in English 9CP or English 9Adv to take French 1 or Spanish 1) Other electives offered- if your program requires an application, it must be turned in with your registration sheet.

19 Students have current teachers sign what classes they are recommended to take 3/21/2018 Please remember that NCAA Eligibility Center courses must be college prep classes or honors to meet eligibility standards.

20 Students meet with a counselor one-on-one to go over their class choices. (3/26 and 3/27) Parents can sign up to be at the scheduling meeting at the end of this presentation in the lobby. If the parent does not agree with course recommendations, they can submit a Petition to Upgrade to Jennifer Vineyard at the Jr School guidance office.

21 Changes in course selections will only be made due to balance class sizes or correct scheduling errors/conflicts. Basically this means you need to choose your classes carefully and wisely! You cannot change your mind in August! Please see the Course Add/Drop Policy in your registration bulletin for all details.

22 Your Course Registration Guide Is Available On Line on the Guidance page of the school website under the Class Scheduling tab (1,200 students x 80 pages = 96,000 pages)

23 Any St. John s student who is planning on attending Wm Henry Harrison High School must enroll in the high school before they can register for classes. Registration is through the Central Office on South Elm Street. Call at to set up an appointment. After you are enrolled, you can set up a time with your student s counselor to register for classes. You can register NOW the sooner the better! We are pleased to have you with us!

27 Southwest Local Schools is an Open Enrollment District Open Enrollment applications must be submitted to the Superintendent of Schools between May 1 and May 30. Interviews with the Superintendent will take place between June 1 and June 15 Freshman Open Enrollment students do not lose a year of eligibility from interscholastic sports.
